So Duke is home. He has had pain killers, anti biotics and anti inflammatories.
He has bad cuts to his legs and also an ulcer on his eye all of which are infected.
He has no skin on his pads he’s absolutely exhausted and has missed his dad so so bad x
He’s struggling to walk due to the pain in his legs and feet but ya know what he’s home now and he’s safe xx
He’s fast asleep on the sofa in house where he belongs x x
Honestly thank you to everyone for everything x
The vet adored him and knew all about him 💛💛
The family are so grateful to you all x — with Karen Carter and 3 others.Last edited: 2018-03-27 20:39:24 by ClaireC - 2018-03-27 19:06 #stoppettheft

- CROSS POSTED UPDATE from DUKE’s fb group, posted tonight by Chops Carter:
Evening everyone x
Hope you’re all ok.
I’ve been involved with missing dogs and cats for about 4 years now. I can honestly hand on my heart say that I’ve never known a street like Healey Wood Road in Brighouse be so welcoming and lovely to complete strangers looking for their pet x so I want to say thank you for letting us all knock on your doors, more than once, allow us to walk through your gardens at daft o clock at night and stupid o clock in the morning. We all honestly can’t thank you enough xx
Anyway, the reason for this post is this... tomorrow is Sunday and we haven’t had a positive sighting since Wednesday. Obviously this is causing a fair amount of concern because we already know duke is hurt. We desperately need to find him.
So if you’re in Brighouse tomorrow, if you live there, if you’re walking your dog, if you’re with your kids we are asking you to keep your peepers open. If you see him, please ring the numbers on the posters. Don’t shout him or call him or chase him, just ring Stuart or Kaylie x

Thank you xx - 2018-03-24 22:29 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
- UPDATE posted on WED by Karen Carter:
‼️UPDATE ON TONIGHTS SEARCH -
Massive thank you to those who made it. Streets were leafleted, people spoken to, gardens searched, posters put up again, parks and all other areas re covered again! It was a brilliant turnout. As a result we have confirmation of a possible sighting this morning in the same area as yesterday! This gives us hope again - except his face is really swollen which means infection is kicked in. The family were still out out looking when we left and some of us are going back out first light. We will keep you updated. Please keep sharing his posters and keep the numbers handy in case you spot him. Thank you x

- CROSS POSTED UPDATE from DUKE’s fb group:
‼️SEARCH - TONIGHT AT 7pm EXTRA NUMBER TO CALL 07391023583
We are meeting tonight outside The Globe Pub HD6 3EL to look for Duke. There has not been a sighting for over over 33 hours and we are extremely worried he could be collapsed somewhere. His eye and neck was injured quite badly and infection will have kicked in. Even if people can just have a drive around for 10 minutes - every little helps!
It is really important that once he is sighted:
1. HE IS NOT APPROACHED AND HIS DAD IS CALLED.
2. YOU DO NOT TAKE YOUR OWN DOG ALONG.
3. YOU DO NOT TRY TO GET HOLD OF HIM OR PUT HIM
ON A LEAD.
THIS IS BECAUSE DUKE DOES NOT KNOW YOU AND WILL RUN AND NOT BECAUSE OF ANY OTHER REASON.
If Duke run's we will lose him again and he will have no idea of his whereabouts - at least now if he is still in the area he knows his surroundings. Please, we are begging you. So many dogs have been chased out of areas by people having good intentions and just trying to help but Duke is seriously injured and we cannot risk this - but we can't find him on our own either! Trust me we have tried.
We do want you to look for him, in undergrowth, behind walls, anywhere he could be hiding (especially where there could be food or water) but if you come across him please just walk a short distance away, sit on the ground and call the number. Once done try steps 1-4 from a distance but don’t approach him again.
His family have been walking the streets since he went missing. Others have been out at all hours without people knowing. His Dad can't eat or sleep. If you can help, please meet us.
It has also come to light that some of the posters have been taken down from the lamp posts. If you have a printer and can print the poster below please do. Even if it's just a few! The old wooden telegraph poles are the best as the council don't remove them from those. Takeaways or shops may also put them up too! Anywhere is a bonus!
Thank you! - 2018-03-21 17:31 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
- Have added another contact no. to poster and updated info again.
GOOD LUCK to everyone who is helping to with searching in the area. - 2018-03-21 07:51 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
- Rooting for DUKE to be found soon.
Updated his poster late last night and Kaylie has added it to her original share post on fb. He has been sighted in the area and helpers have been looking out for him with his owner. Have added the sighting post to the extra image box.
Have shared Kaylie’s fb post including link to his DL page and Poster.
THANK YOU to everyone who is helping and supporting his owners. - 2018-03-20 19:45 Unknown
