- Hi Segi52 When the Police obtain the CCTV request that they post it to their page with account on Facebook. Also have you contacted the local press. maybe wait to see what the CCTV shows & get permission for them to show footage/stills. As a lady has mentioned previously would be a good idea to set up a group on Facebook "Help Find Stolen Romeo"? I have shared public & to my regular groups.

- Well done Segi52 for your persistence, which we all hope will get Romeo back and may prevent further crimes being commited by this individual. Keep CJ updated by emailing stolen@doglost.co.uk and she will help you as much as she can. Microchip is currently shown as unknown on here. Please email your microchip number to Doglost and update the microchip company, as soon as possible, if you have not already done so. If you cannot find the papers your vet may have it recorded on his file or the breeder may have a record of it.

- Segi52 contact the Car parking operator that manages the car park. Check the signage in the car park and you will obtain contact details. Write to them including the crime ref no and ask them not to delete the data of the he was stolen. ANPR data is deleted every two weeks and police might not contact them on time. Also the car park operator manages the car park on behalf of Sainsbury. Sainsbury doesn’t have direct access to the anpr camera. Sainsbury should be contacted in writing and by phone to instruct their operator not to delete the data

- Again thanks to all. Police basically said there is not enough funds for them to investigate after the cuts... But I have been on police station personaly today tell then there is cctv footage from car park which I obviously thought they aware of as that car par payment system is operated on number plate recognising so they told me they will open case as new details came in... We printed loots of posters as well...

- Have shared again with visible photo. Does anyone know if an individual FB page has been set up for Romeo? In this type of incident it does help to spread the word more widely because it attracts more followers who can follow & share if any sightings or updates!

- Seg52 they have an eye witness so there is every possibility the person can be identified and brought to justice. We all know the Police are busy and have priorities but a crime has been committed and there are leads (no pun intended) for them to follow. The CCTV that has the registration number needs to be accessed both to solve this crime and prevent further crimes. I hope Romeo can be found and is home soon.Last edited: 2018-03-22 17:04:59 by Mary

- Segi52 - really feel for you. Unfortunately, so many people are just not aware of the dangers of leaving dogs outside shops. It would appear that the police involved in your case are just not interested - perhaps you could take this further with someone more senior. Could I also suggest that you send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk and ask the police co-ordinator if there is any help she can give regarding the other CCTV that you mentioned. Could you also go to other local shops in the Purley Way to see if anyone has any CCTV that may help. Get lots of posters up and maybe someone may have information that could help, Contact Croydon Advertiser to see if they might do a story. I am really hoping that you get Romeo back soon xLast edited: 2018-03-22 17:08:51 by Sandra Watt

- Thanks to all.. Sainsburys told us on their cctv doesn't is not visible regarding plate and the one cctv which shows that doesn't belong to sainsbury on and we can't access that... Is in hands of police but they told us they not going to do nothing about it as is our fault that dog got stolen and they don't have funds to deal with that....

- Shared and Twittered - DON'T LEAVE DOGS OUTSIDE SHOPS - EVER!
- 2018-03-22 11:12 Jaycey
- Shared on FB...Does Sainsburys have the man and vehicle on CCTV, maybe showing the registration number?...Can the Staff Members confirm the colour of the car?...A Doglost poster needs putting in Sainsburys entrance - it may jog someone's memory and also give a warning about the dangers of leaving dogs outside shops, even for half a minute! As soon as you're out of sight the dog is a target!..I really hope Romeo can be found xx

- Please everyone with all the heartbreak caused to the owners and to the poor dogs themselves who will be traumatised ever leave a dog tied up outside a shop - we are seeing daily how thieves are on the increase and will do anything to sell a dog on or to breed from as it is handing it to them on a plate to do so, especially with so many websites out there to advertise a dog on for sale. This is another heartbreaking story which will cause so much anguish to so many people
