I hope there is good news soon. I have added his details to my forum Find Missing Dogs (http://findmissingdogs.proboards67.com/index.cgi), TRPD Pet Craft Project, Sighthounds Online & to Salukis & Co. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What I will add is that if anyone knows where Barney is or even has him but he is well, happy and loved, then that is all I would need to see and know. I would not be selfish and remove him from his new family as that would not be fair on him although if all concerned felt this would be best then I would have him back in a flash. It is hard to know what to do for the best! Follow ya heart o ya head? The main thing for me is just knowing, good news or bad, I would like to know. The picture is not a great one! He is about Lab height but slimmer and Lurcher build and speed, his coat is rough but soft at the same time and he changes colour, lighter and stripey in the summer and darker in winter. For anyone that saw it he looked like a smaller version of Chump of the TV. I cried everytime I watched him. Thanks for renewing his info here. Emma. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

My Darling Barney Boo, we said "Goodbye" to your Little friend Jodie AKA Mookie last week. She had cancer and we were determined not to let her suffer, so she went to sleep peacefully on Sept 25th. I only wish I had you here to give me all your special cuddles and to make me laugh as you always did. I'm thinking of you Boo, and praying you are well and happy. Love you. Well, still no Barney and my hope is fading. I have stopped chasing around like a mad women possessed after cars that have brindle lurcher types in them as i could see myself getting arrested! I am still working at Woodgreen Animal Shelter inm Cambs and i love it here. I have never met a group of people whose interest really is in the animals and their welfare. Please if you get the chance visit us, it really is a nice place. I have done my last poster run, although i have also got them plastered over the site here, all 54 acres of it! I have sooo many happy memories of him and seem to have forgotten all the times the little bugger was up to no good, although they were never bad enough to be unforgiveable. Just one look from those sad, doleful eyes and he was forgiven. I would love, with all my heart to play frisby with him in the park again, or laugh at him as he sneaked onto the settee thinking that i couldn't see him. Or to have to remove all the breakable things from low level while he decided to have a mad run around with his bum tucked under as he did. Believe me i could go on all day wishing for this and wishing for that but it is not going to bring him back. If someone else has got him part of me hopes he is really happy and as good for them as he was me and part of me wants to strike them for causing me all the heartache and not handing him to me where he truly belongs, as he is very well identified. All i can say is that this dog has and always will have a very big special place in my heart and i hope to see him again some day. Mummy love's you Barney Boo now, always, forever. God bless you where ever you are, i only wish i knew. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Beani , Long time no speak sad to say still no news on my old man Sonny have given up hope now, Sad to say but I have to look towards the future my youngest boy mentions him everyday and cries for him at least 1 a month, have thought about getting a new pup to soften the blow, but as a family we are not ready for another we would never get another like Sonny my other dog shane has never been the same, his still clingly after 8 months and i swear he still tries to find his scent after all this time !!! Who knows !! I cannot believe you have had no sightings of Barney, I hope you are still working at the shelter and more importantly enjoying it Take care Sonny's mum Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Beanie/Erpy here. I still have not found my baby "B". I will always look out for him and his photo has pride of place in my home. I cannot express how much it still hurts and the only way i keep going is the thought that someone else IS caring for him and he is laying in front of their fire keeping warm on these cold, wet, windy nights, which he hated so much. I miss his head on my feet and lap looking up to me for reassurance when the wind howls and the rain hits the windows. I have had no sightings or contact regarding Barney since June/July time although the posters are still up in the area he was belived to be in. I wish all other owners with missing babies all the luck in the world and am happy for those who are fortunate enough to get their Babies back. Just never give up. Barney's Mum. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

well done beanie. Hope it all goes well for you. I would love to do something like that myself. Didn't realise so many dogs went missing and needed help until I came across these websites. Liz xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Well, i am still looking for Barney and still recieving calls from the general public which is good but bad cos none of them have been "B". There is one good thing that has come of my losing "B" and that is that it has prompted me to do what i have always wanted to do and that is work with dogs and animals. I due to start work at Woodgreen Animal Shelter in Godmanchester, Cambs in 4 weeks time. If i cannot help what happens to my own lost dog, maybe i can at least ensure good homes for the ones that are never re-united with their owners. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Can't begin to imagine how you must be feeling. It is easy to say to people don't give up. Unless they are in your shoes they don't really understand. It is the not knowing that is hard. You just have to hope that you will hear something one day. Liz xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Well, yet another month has passed and no good news on "my boy". Had two false alarms last week, went through the usual motions of imagining the perfect re-union, kisses and wagging tails, only to get to the destination and be let down again, cry again, feel guilty, sad and go home to look at my prized photo's of him. If only I knew, one way or the other what has happened to him or where he is!!! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Beanie just got the 2 Springers back after 3 weeks! and the Border terrier-so keep going! Even to day a positive sighting(by someone who knows the dog) of a Shetland Sheepdog that went missing 14 months ago! It appears someone has taken it in-so we have to use the gently , gently route. It is the same area as the last sighting 6 months ago-according to the lady he was being well looked after-as i am sure Barney is. Keep going.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It's been 3 weeks today since I have heard anything regarding my boy "Barney", I am now losing hope as before I was having so many calls regarding him and all in the same place, Sharnbrook, Beds. To think that this time 3 weeks ago the "Beds" Dog Warden phoned me to say that Barney was playing with a squirrel on the green, could i go and get him, I was so near, yet clearly so far. Still going there searching and still have all his favorite things in the boot of my car ready ( treats, blanket, toy) for when i do go to collect him! but my hope is fading. Yes, Barney's details on lots of other sites inc Lurcher search. I am feeling lost as don't know what else i can do, i have put up posters, posted flyers, notified all the authorities, phoned the kennels within a 10 mile radias, scented where he was last seen. I feel someone must have him as he is a very lovable character and has been seen so many times in the same area. Very frustrating. I need to know he is ok!!!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
