Having owned ferrets for many years i know they can cover quite a bit of ground over a period of time. Early days though so possibly quite close by. Be sure to check sheds and garages (especially if holes in them for ferret to squeeze in). I’m sure she will look for somewhere to snooze out of the cold.
If owner has a dog be sure to take on the search as more chance of dog finding her. I lost one years ago and my dog found her in an old garage and she was fine. Good luck!
