Just had a random call from a lady claiming she has seen the photo and seen Saffy running around the Tesco's (Goodmayes) car park yesterday. She tried to grab her but she just kept running off. She did say that she is very skinny and scared. Apparently Tesco's staff have collected her. I have just called Tesco, who actually answered their phone today (Sunday)! The manager will call me back to let me know what they have done with her. Fingers crossed everyone! If it is not her at least someone I will have found someone's dog and put them out of their misery! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We have been trying to replace the posters that have been taken down, but it is proving hard in between work life. The sighting was in Cambridge Road and yes we have taken a drive around Enfield but to no avail! It's so frustrating as she has disappeared it seems altogether. I have been checking the rescue centre websites at the weekends but again is so dis-heartening. We appreciate anyone that can help postering the whole of the U.K with Saffy's picture. Hi all, anyone got any news? We had no joy with the newspapers. We did register with a few more websites, added her photos and details. We have even contacted a private detective agency that we are hoping could help trace where she has gone. Should we now change the age of Saffy on this site in the case someone now finds an older dog?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you I will try and contact Metro or London lite maybe. Yesterday I contacted someone at animalsearch and was told that they could create flyers/ posters and would also distribute them locally at a cost. My father and I are contemplating this at the moment.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi owners, thanks for registering and updating us. Rest assured Saffy will not get forgotten! Sounds like you are doing a good job with the posters/flyers and facebook.....keep at it, poster the area like crazy so everyone around knows Saffy is missing and is on the lookout for her. You've got to make her too hot to handle and poster power is the way to go. Have you tried getting the local press to run a story or an appeal on the local radio - would def be worth a go. No news as yet. We just hope she is ok and being treated well. Flyers have been given out to traders along the High Road in Chadwell Heath. We have created a "Where's Saffy?" group on facebook to try and reach more people across the country. Please join if you are a member. Please all keep looking, as we are worried she is becoming further done the list and will be forgotten! Thanks.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

If you find a dog out of hours after end of March you will be given the holding kennels number but most of them will not take a dog out of hours because of the disturbance. The only people pleased with this arrangement is the POLICE. What a surprise...Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

emmabellalandy if you find a dog late at night or anytime of the day they will give you a name of a holding kennels to take the dog yourself this will only lead to people not bothering as if they have to got to work they would not have the time and if late at night may not have a car to take the dog and a lot will not want the dog in there car many on this sight may do it but there will be a lot that will not, and just let the dog go again . A a lot of the DW and mine in particular tried arguing this with the powers to be but they had mad there minds up and this is now going to become law. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

show yourself sapphire and come home soon! DOGLADY this will become so much harder as our dog warden well i am not sure it's worth having one ! he Is never about to help and what if you find it late of a night ! I was out till 2 this morning as i found a english bull tied to a tree so tight she couldn't move !! scum ! But one police station in this borough is so great when it comes to stray dogs and without them i would be at a loss , pdsa scanned her but was not intrested but at least i know they are great so i always take them there .Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

New Government legislation comes into force in April when police will no longer be responsible for rounding up stray and vicious dogs and those involved in road traffic accidents. This task will become the responsibility of local authorities funded by Government money - cash the police will now divert to town halls across the country.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Titania777 I think you will find as from the 1st of April no police station will be taking in any stray dogs, this was one of the things that they are implementing along with private company's doing the dog wardens duty's and this will be making it a lot harder when looking for a dog. Hope SAPPHIRE is home soon. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoke to owner. Sapphire was stolen from Grove Road, Chadwell Heath. Photos were on owners phone and now lost as phone had to be repaired. Daughter has photo on phone but when Sapphire was a lot younger. May be of use but may need a 'look a like' from net. Owner does not have internet access but his daughter does. Asked that she calls me with email address for contacts list. Sapphire needs to be a high priority as we have certain bunch of scumbags in the area that could possibly have stolen her. Have telephoned Tans vets and also B&D and reported Sapphire as stolen. Just found out that local dogs are now being taken to Bareham Kennels, Orsett. Have telephoned and left a message. Will do the normal once we have a photo. Stay safe little girl until we find you. x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner is going to sort the photo and get it over to us asap. Have asked him to register on here so he can update the site but the info I have is that Sapphire was stolen from the owners back garden. She is 10 months old. Owner has contacted police, local vets, battersea (daily), postered local shops, spread the word locally. Have given him some kennels including those which take in strays in the area to try. Once the photo has been added to the poster and its been circulated to local helpers, orgs etc hopefully some will be able to assist in postering the local area and making this girl too hot to handle. Stay safe Sapphire. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
