- I am so pleased to read that Star is home safe where she belongs, with all the stolen dogs these days the RSPCA should be scanning all dogs, it only takes seconds to do, have a good life Star with your loving owners who never gave up on you.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- star is home!!!! She was handed in to the rspca by the girlfriend of the man who stole her for breeding. he had been sent to prison under the dangerous dogs act the same day and girlfriend could not handle star so surrendered her. RSPCA only scan dogs that come in to them as strays. Star was not a stray and therefore not scanned. She has been with a family for some months. They were persuaded to hand Star over and she is now home! Yeay!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Have spoken to the owner today on this matter and advised her re seeking legal advice. A plan of action is in place on this one. The fact of the matter is Star is stolen property and is subject to an ongoing police inquiry.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- I do hope Star is home soon. I firmly believe the RSPCA should be held responsible for any costs incurred by the rightful owner. They have, at the end of the day, sold stolen goods. Praying that scanning of all animals becomes law soon. Good luck and hope you have the right outcome soon.

- Owner has been put in touch with Roxs owner who won her court case for her stolen dog back-the judge stated that it should never have gone to court as it was the polices responsibility to return stolen goods. The police have been good so far with Star even raiding a property last week as they thought Star may be there. Owner has put 5,500 posters up in London and has to travel up from her home in Brighton to do so every week.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- This is a case for a solicitor. The owner has absolute proof of ownership and there must be a record of the original police involvement - a cast-iron case surely. I wonder how long ago she was rehomed - perhaps her new family might have some compassion and want to see her returned where she belongs. If not, the law should take its course. It seems hard that good money has to be spent, but it appears the only road to go down as the RSPCA let all sides down by not scanning Star before rehoming her. Good luck Star, hope you get back home where you belong, lovely girl xx

- How about trying to get a bit of media coverage on this. Neither the police or RSPCA seem to have got their acts together resulting in two families being upset and one poor dog stuck in the middle. Don't let it go GET LEGAL ADVICE ASAP.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- This is absolutely terrible !!! Good news that the owner has a lead now, but shocking about the RSPCA. Are they not there to help animals ??? The owner definitely needs some kind of legal advice in order to get this resolved quickly and get their dog home where Star belongs. I presume they have been advised about what to do next ? Is there someone they can be put in touch with who deals with this sort of case ?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Owner has received a letter today from petlog requesting details to be changed to new owner! It appears the dog was handed into RSPCA and rehomed with out being scanned. Have explained to owner that she has a crimenumber for the dog and it is stolen property so Star belongs to her the RSPCA seem to think otherwise.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Owners mother went up to Shepherds Bush and put up 500 posters resulting in an anonymous call giving her a name and address. She then waited around the house and positively ID'd Star. A statement was taken by Shepherds Bush police who sent round a WPC without a search warrent on asking if the dog was there they were told no. Owner thinks the dog will have been moved on by now! Also told he had 4 or 5 other dogs in suspicious circumstances.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
