Very interesting from Sprocket's facebook page "I have just discovered from the investigating officer that Sprocket was taken to Medivet in Hendon on the 8th of May! She was then handed to Barnet council on the 9th and then taken to Battersea Dogs Home. I find it incredible that in all that time no one found a chip. I have contacted Medivet who say they double check with 2 types of scanner 1 of which is a Halo scanner. My vet found it in seconds as did Karen yesterday. I can't imagine what they are doing wrong. I am so happy that Sprocket is back but it could have been quite different. It is quite scary that chips are getting missed".

So glad she's been found. I've been wondering about her.

Latest update on lovely Sprocket taken from her fb page and posted by James.

Just a quick update. Sprocket has been to the vet this morning, she has drops and antibiotics for her eye. Yesterday she was shaking, her ears were down, her tail was between her legs and she was very subdued. But today she is a lot better, she is barking at the squirrels and has been to see her best friend Maisie and Aunty Sarah. She getting back to her old self. xxxx

just THE BEST News 😂🐕🐾
It must've been some1 known to the People who STOLE & kept her mustn't it, who didtherightThing ?
how would a stranger have recognised her with a 'bad' haircut ?
& it must be the evil thieves who had kept her, - if they had sold her on to some 1'in all innocence',then they would surely have taken her to a groomer for a trim, & to a Vet for Inoculation s & health check & 'chip,& hopefully, would've been scanned.
makes our blood boil that evil people Steal

Totally AMAZING NEWS - Sprocket is on her way home. James has just collected her from Battersea Dog's Home. There are a lot of people very very happy that James has been rewarded for his dedication in trying to find his little girl!!

She's had a bad hair cut, has a sore eye, but he thinks she's OK. On his way to the vets now.

This dog lived 18 minutes away from the dog stolen by Amazon driver in Marsworth 🤔 You could ask Amazon logistics if you live on his route?

New possible sighting..... Westie seen on it’s own in Bradenham Village, HP14 by a reliable source. Unable to get close enough to see if male or female.
James is aware and heading out there now.
Details... Bradenham Village. Pond opposite church, follow path at side of pond where there is a converted chapel. Through 2 gates into the middle field.

If anyone is able to help search please it would be greatly appreciated - James her owner is out now 07956 626781

James, Sprocket's owner is out looking now - thank you Claralou x

This is Northchurch, Berkhamsted Herts HP4

A dog fitting Sprockets description has been seen leaving the canal and entering New Road NorthChurch, and continued along the road in the direction of NorthChurch Common, sighted said dog was alone and moving fast, westie like in appearance but grey, this description fits Sprocket particularly as she could be very dirty now

It seems like the sighting of Sprocket in Chipperfield was a false alarm - James, her owner met another lady today with Westie on long lead, red collar who she said escaped from her garden a couple of doors down and was found barking at Sheep nearby.

We'll not give up - please keep looking and sharing to get Sprocket home xx

Thanks debbi - owners have been given the Dog Warden's number to report and I did contact Appledown first thing over the weekend as Burglary happened on Friday night.
Will check that James has made contact and got an official listing with Dacorum now.

Thanks for info on Percy, we did meet people last night who told us about him too, so are trying to get information on owner so that we can check if he was out for the last 3-4 nights loose by the address we were called to.

Will contact DW to see if they can help us with this and ruling Percy out or this area out for Sprocket . . . .

Thank you
Dog Wardendebbi
Reading through this and all the posts on Facebook has anybody contacted Dacorum DW especially concerning the dog in Chipperfield? I can’t see her mentioned? Also, there is a “regular” strayer on the common who escapes the dog walker, it’s a male called Percy and is often running loose with a long lead attached, so he needs to be discounted to avoid hoards of people focussing in the wrong area. Dacorum will be able to advise.

Is anyone near Chipperfield Common NOW please? Post from Sprocket's owner now:

"I have just receive a call from a lady who says that a Westie is running loose on Chipperfield Common. Apparently someone had mentioned that it had been there for a few days. Although it is loose it has a very long lead attached. I am going up there now to search, anyone want to join me?"

James Stewart is heading over there now - 07956 626 781

If anyone can join him or is more local, PLEASE GIVE HIM A CALL OR JUST GO . . .

Good luck x
