- Fantastic news to see she is safe and home, clever girl Nika :)
Thank you everyone who helped and thanks Em for your advice re the posters, they really do work and thankfully on this occasion your last advice was not needed! - 2018-04-19 10:36 Scott

- So pleased one amazing little dog

- Owner has posted on local site that Nika found her own way home last night. She was scratching at the door and walked in wagging her tail. Best outcome ever. The owners want to thank everyone that were out searching for over the last few days.

- I also think it would be good to get more posters up. Particularly along the cuckoo trail. When I lost my dog the posters were really good for people phoning in sightings. Not everyone is on social media and people don't always remember unless there are reminders. Lots of people use the cuckoo trail and there's lots of land, food and water. I didn't see any posters on my search yesterday. Unfortunately I didn't have any with me.

- You are all doing a fantastic job, helping to get this girl back.
Has anyone been and spoken to the builders who were trying to catch a dog presumably Nika? They could have some important information (was it her at all, which way did she go, have they seen since etc?
We need firm sightings to work out where she is travelling.
Keep up the good work team Nika x - 2018-04-18 16:21 Scott
- I’ve walked over the fields from Polegate. Just getting to Bannantynes. Has there been any more sightings?Last edited: 2018-04-18 20:49:37 by Scott

- There has been a potential sighting that has just been discovered in the same location as before, at the roundabout by Bannatynes Gym at around 11am yesterday morning. There is a team of people searching the location at 5.30pm this evening.

- I'm going to go and have a look Dittons Rd end of Golden Jubilee road as there was a sighting of her walking that way. There's so much open farmland that way. As LynS says she could easily make her way to Willingdon from there.Last edited: 2018-04-18 15:11:03 by Scott

- Em sorry I was not clear I started around Hydneye and Dallington Road,Lakelands Close to the bridge turned left followed the path past where the blanket was laid by the bench, right down to the underpass of the Golden Jubilee Way around the far side of the lake across the grass off path nearer the lake and back round to Pigs Lane behind Bannatynes back to Lakelands close

- Of she has gotten into the fields west of GJ Way, she could easily make her way to Willingdon, it's all marshland
- 2018-04-18 09:48 Quincy
- With this information I have looked on google maps and have mentioned on our local lost pets that as a long shot she may have made her way onto fields near the fitness centre. There is fencing for quite a long way giving her protection from the main Golden Jubilee Way.

- To clarify my friend's sighting on the first morning, she saw the dog (presumed to be Nika) running at the edge of the road / grass verge, reasonably calmly, towards Dittons Road on Golden Jubilee Way. This was the lower part of GJ Way (Ballantyne's end) before the bridge. She wasn't running around the cars, but the cars were quite slow and static as they had seen her.

- Been out again this morning and following same route as before. This is going to be a case of being in the right place at the right time. It would be nice if the sighting of her on the first day could confirm if she stayed on the same side of the road when going into bushes at the Shinewater Roundabout.
- 2018-04-18 06:38 Scott
- Thanks for the clarification Quincy. I’ll be out today.

- Went out yesterday searched all around the area of Shinewater Park, along Golden Jubilee Way, around the Ballabtynes fitness centre, Stone Cross and Senoaks Road. No sightings at all. Lets hope she is one that goes to ground for a couple of days and starts showing herself when she starts to get hungry. Until that time we wont know if she has ventured further afield.

- Can there be clarification about where Niki was last seen/lost? Would like to help the search but not sure of location? Is the poster supposed to say Shinewater? What roundabout is the roundabout/park? egizzy where were you looking this afternoon?Last edited: 2018-04-17 21:13:42 by Scott

- To follow up the below question, my friend did not see anyone actually catch the dog (vet nurse?) unfortunately, so it is possible that she was too scared and ran off from all efforts. So hope she turns up safe soon ...
- 2018-04-17 12:40 egizzy
- Still no sign of this poor baby, I have just done a 2 + hour walk around there, Wakeflo did anyone see this person seen yesterday morning actually get hold of her?? Maybe she has been taken?? I have just found a post from yesterday on a FB Polegate page saying #Not my dog but I did see her this morning about 8am along golden jubilee way and some guys in a builders flat bed van (Skinners? I’m not 100% it was that name) were trying to rescue her with some food.
I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one to see this as the traffic was pretty built up trying to pass the parked van. Did anyone else see anything? Or anyone know if the dog was taken to a vet maybe? If this was my girl, I’d be beside myself.#Last edited: 2018-04-17 13:02:11 by egizzy - 2018-04-16 22:28 Bobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex

- My friend thinks she saw this dog on Golden Jubilee Way this morning about 0815 hrs. Think it had a red coller. A lady in a jeep type car got out on the road. She was wearing a peppermint green tunic. Looked like a vets nurse type tunic. She had a lead and looked like she was gng to rescue it. On the stretch of bypass between bannatynes and polegate turn off. Traffic was very slow as traffic jam. Hope she's okay If it is her. X
