- Hi Alice. Sorry for the late response. I’ve not checked this for some time as I’d sort of given up. Could you provide a link to that Facebook account please.

- Well done Ben don't give up

- Should also add that if they have blocked your mobile number if you witheld your number it should go through and you can leave a voicemail. Similarly if you use whatsapp just blocking a number on the phone does not block it in whatsapp.

- I've now reported this to the police. Thank you all for the advice.

- Ben, seems to me more like a civil matter as there was a verbal agreement with your wife's friend to look after your dog when you were at work. However, as the friend kept Zeus and did not return him, it would certainly be worth approaching the police and explain the circumstances. You may be lucky and get a sympathetic officer and you may be issued with a CRN. Without that, there is not much we can do to help. However, as Skywalker99 stated below, you could contact www.doglaw.co.uk or www.wheldonlaw.co.uk or advice as they both deal with dog related matters. If Zeus's microchip is scanned, you may be contacted and may find out where he currently is.

- Definitely go to the police, other useful resources are www.doglaw.co.uk (premium rate advice line so no big legal fees upfront) and the petdetectives.com if you have the resources.

- i stumbled on this site earlier after been on verge of giving up my search for him.
I need to know he's ok. - 2018-05-02 22:15 BEN
- Yes I've reported him to the microchip company. It's a very long story on what had happened to him but I was lied to and deceived. He went to stay with a friend of my wife's while we were working and this apparent friend refused to return him. My wife offered to sell him to her if she really wanted him (I was fuming about this and it caused a rift in my relationship with my wife) this person then blocked all contact with us and apparently has sold the dog... I'm really upset and angry he was due to have his booster jabs. I've spent weeks trying to find this person to get zues back, I really don't know how people can be so evil.

- Ben .I reckon you should report to police even though it was months ago if you are absolutely sure Zeus is stolen. Have you reported him missing to your microchip company? Was he locked in house when he went missing or you can you explain what happened.
- 2018-05-02 21:47 BEN
- Unfortunately I don't have a reffernce number because I didn't think the police would do anything about it.

- Sorry to see that ZEUS is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (128549)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
- If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
- Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
- DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
