Yes they should check for microchip, but not always sadly. If you read the link on the page to 'Dollys Directive' you will understand more. Also the microchip can migrate (move) around the body. If the dog is not checked all over the body and legs it could be missed. Some scanners miss certain types of microchip too, old scanner, new microchip it has been known. This is a rare occurance, but do be sure. This is why we reinforce the point of checking rescues & vets regularly. They can slip through the net. Hope you get news soon. Just a thought but if owner has moved recently are microchip details current ? This is a link to a list of Yorkies in Uk rescues . Might be worth checking out occassionally just in case she found her way there. http://allbreedsrescue.googlepages.com/breeds412Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Having spoken to my sister who lives locally it could be these two are in THE WARREN off warren lane which runs along side part of motor way. there is also a feild woth horse close where there are a couple of old shacks- worth checking these out as ideal places for them to take shelter. Places to poster would be Ashford international Bye brooks gardebn centre and sainsbury. LOCAL HELPERS please post if you have covered any of these areas . THANKS CJLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

UPDATE spotted on weds eve both running together on M20 near Junction 9. lady stopped car but unable to catch them. ANYone in this area- please poster and keep a look out. I think there is wooded areas just off junction 9 ?/ ALSO is anyone near to the hotel just off this junction??NEED TO CATCH THESE 2 QUICK- before they get back onto the motorway. Dog warden aware plus have notifed Interroute- they have logged the call with a reference number and will get maintenance crew to keep a look out- so far nothing has been reported to them so they must still be Ok. Rocky- the area is St theresa's close near town centre- i think they said near a church. owners have no internet access. One dog was being looked after by a neighbour when they both escaped. Owner is foreign but speaks quite good english. As there was delay getting a similar dog for Daisey suggest getting both posters up anywhere is Ashford especially dog walking areas plus places dealing with pet foods etc. Any vets you can think of as well would be a great help.
