Sadly the one in the kennels was not Tipper, owner went to see her today and confirmed it is not her. Spoke to kennels earlier and they have a possible home lined up for her as her 7 days are now up.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

could it be possibble to ask owner anymore info tipper ie commands she knows ,little ways of hers , is she as big as a greyhound or is that a guid . and is it definate that she wont work ? the reason that im asking is that i homed a lurcher who matches disc on 17th march from stray kennels must of been picked up on 10th the only thing which mismatches is that we,re sure shes worked . i dont want to get hopes up and DONTwant to part with her but i also dont want somewon not knowing what has happened to thier dog ! we do feel sure she was stolen or wondered for a while as she was thin when found . i would need proof of traits please .Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for puting new picture on, this is the one the owner said was most like Tipper, although probably not quite as dark but coat type, size and white feet are closer than on original photo. He will pay cash reward for her return.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Someone has removed my poster (again) from our village PO/petrol station this keeps happening and I am quite cross, especially as I do have permission to poster there and if we have a lot of dogs missing I overlap them, so as not to take too much room. It is such a good prominent spot. Just got some more colour ink and reprinted some. Spoke to anyone I know from over that way. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Can those helping out here with eg Gypsy Liaison and the Game Fair please also look at Tanner's page [abducted whippet lurcher]. Although she went missing in Oxon on the other side of the M4, the car was heading towards Wantage and might then have headed down for the motorway towards Berks/Hants/Wilts etc. Also there seem to be an awful lot of lurchers etc appearing from the Berks/Hants/Wilts areas on the Found pages which seem to have been abandoned - prob by travellers... Some group/s in the area would seem to be responsible for a lot of thefts, imo. I hope you find Tipper soonLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Dident go online yesterday, so just got email. This is right in my areaand obviously I will do whatever I can to help. In the first instance I will poster this evening my usual local places in SP7 and one in to Gillingham vets Thurs. Cannot get to Shaftesbury SP8 until Friday, but will take one then. I will also pass pn to colleague who's husband is a gardener in that area. Dont rule out that it might NOT be travellers. Is this the same long haired brindle lurcher that is often around Shaftesbury? if so could get a lot of sympathy there.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We are going to the West Country Game Fair at Shepton Mallet on Sunday to take part in the terrier and lurcher show. Is it possible for some small flyers to be made up for Tipper so we can hand them out there? JulieLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sid is one of my neighbours, the field the dog went missing from is almost opposite the Hunt Kennels, might be worth giving them a poster. Also as this is North Dorset close to the border with Wiltshire and Somerset- North Dorset DW 01258 484381, Wiltshire DW 01722 434319/434320. Not sure which Somerset DW would be the nearest. West Country Game Fair at Shepton Mallett coming up next weekend Sat & Sun attracts a lot of dog people especially Lurcher & Terrier ones.........e mail from helper. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We have spoken over the last few days about a rough coated, dark brindle lurcher bitch called 'Tipper' which has been stolen in Motcombe, a village just a couple of miles to north of Shaftesbury. The dog belongs to a retired worker of ours called Sid Cox. Sid cannot read or write and we are trying to help find the dog. Both we and the police strongly suspect the local gypsies. There are many both in this area and in Dorset as a whole. Sid does not have a camera but we have found a dog on the internet which strongly resembles Tipper save for the fact that the dog shown is not rough coated. Dex, the dog in the photo is the right colour, has small white marks on paws and a white tip to the tail. He has white on chest as does Tipper but Tipper also has white on the head. Tipper is greyhound size. She is not micro-chipped. Many thanks for help to date. I am happy to become a registered helper. ...e mail from kind lady helping out.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Tipper disappeared from a field when she was left unattended for an hour. Tipper will be no use for working as she lives with free range chickens and will not chase. There is no photo available at the moment but hopefully a similar one will be with us soon. Telephone number relates to a neighbour of the owner as owner has no phone.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
