The time has flown by.  I realise it is highly unlikely we will get Barney back now but miracles do happen.  This site was a great help to me and give me hope at a very low time.  I just hope wherever he is he is happy and loved. Hope your well Hello Janey, Caroline xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I notified all the local vets and gave his poster to the pet shop in Chester, St Cuthberts Walk near the time he went missing. Its still in the window as of yesterday. It could be worth trying further afield. Unsure how far to go though. Any help is greatly appreciated. I hope to get out tomorrow or Sat to refresh some more posters that have been taken down and also to let people know he is still missing. If you had a chance to make some phonecalls to some vets or send emails that would be great. They may not have his missing information any more or have forgotten about him. We received a phone call yesterday saying someone seen a border in our local woods. We went down with one of our other borders but seen nothing. Will keep checking though. Cant imagine he would still be surviving outside after all this time. Lets hope this fresh push will bring him home. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi sorry to hear no news on Barney...do you think we should go further afield? Are the vets automatically notified or only the ones in the immediate area? It may be worth doing a big vet .... Same with maybe the pet shops even if its just done through getting details from yellow pages. Just say what you want me to do and Ill give it a goLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Been out tonight putting more posters up. Huge thank you to Hello Janey who done another area for me. Had another call from Leadgate area. The lady was convinced the dog she seen was my Barney. Told her I had already identified one from the area but it was more of a silvery colour than black, she said was def black. Two men were trying to catch it. If I get another call I will take the dog in and get it checked for a chip and if no joy then onto Dog Lost . If I still receive sighting calls then I will think Maybe!! I cant believe the person who had it has let it out again, poor fella. Caroline x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Still no news on Barney, I keep willing the phone to ring. I felt so upset yesterday when the dog I went to see wasnt him. I wish there was more I could do. You end up feeling useless. If anyone has any ideas Im open to them. I just want to let people know that Barney has an old injury which makes him distinctive. He was hit by a car when running home around 18 month ago. He took fright when it started to thunder when out on his walk. He suffered a broken shoulder and was strapped up for 6 weeks. It never healed correctly so when you feel his shoulder it feels quite pointy. It doesnt affect him in any way and quite happily walks for miles and jumps around like a puppy but it is a way he could be identified. Thanks again everyone and lets hope today is the day x x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for that Rescue mum x x I did think about Benji whilst driving home. Think I was so shocked as was sure it was going to be Barney I didint think at the time. I think if I remember right Benji is a light grizzle colour?? This dog wasnt dark like my Barney, more of a silvery grey colour with some tan. Was quite long legged too, my Barney is short. If you have any contact info for the lady you could ask about colouring. I still have the man's mobile number. The man did say he was thinking if the dog wasnt mine he might know someone else it could belong too but he might just been saying that. Let me know if you want more info.
