Dachs4ever, I think that the reason the comments are on here regarding the poor dog that was found, are just incase by any chance that this could of been the same Bella that went missing here when she was a puppy xLast edited: 2020-01-12 23:08:40 by Kinsally

BBC Red Button reports that a 31 year old woman has been arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty. A thoroughly wicked thing to do that poor dog. Whoever is responsible should be locked up for a very long time. Well done to the marvellous woman who rescued Bella. BTW There is some confusion here the ID number relates to a dog from 2008 as do most of the comments.

You could angle it on the number of GDS's who've gone missing in Grtr Manchester over the past few weeks. Make sure you get the e-mail details of the features editor, or much better still phone, about 11am shoud be a good time..Insist on being through, don'rt be fobbed off, but have solid ideas they can work with.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Tracyjm alerted me to the dog at Hampole which she had seen whilst looking for her dog Buster who has thankfully since been reunited. I have personally been out to Mount Pleasant kennels at Hampole and the dog which was a possible match has been claimed by its owners. I would like to point out that the site doglady has stated as being Hampoles website has NOTHING to do with them and Hampole have no website of their own at all.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Called at owners house on Saturday for a quick chat and there is no news as yet. Informed her about the sighting at Tesco's and she's going to make a couple of late night visits up there to see if she can see anything. A few of the posters have been ripped down or defaced in some way or another and I won't be able to replace them until weekend. Owner was going to MDH yesterday but as I've heard nothing I can only assume that Bella wasn't there. Owner is hoping to get computer working/internet back on line in the next few days! I spoke to the owner yesterday and she is having problems with her phone at the moment so the number on the poster is her husbands work mobile number so he may have been unable to answer at the time. If anyone has problems contacting Bella's owner, please call me on 07912 609 407 anytime. If I can't get to the phone leave me a message and I'll get back to you asap! Re Tesco sighting I will be over in Bury this weekend and have suggested to the owner that it's time to broaden the area that is being postered. My sister in law also works in Tesco Prestwich but is currently off on Maternity leave however will ask her to do the rounds. Will also get a few posters up in Heaton Park as lots of regular dog walkers in there that would spot a dog alone! Owner does believe that someone in the area has taken her in and hasn't thought to report her to anyone. Please report any further sightings on here so I can update DW. If you need to contact the DW directly the number is 0161 253 6283 or 0161 253 5566. Email address environmentalhealth@bury.gov.uk I will follow up the sighting with owner! Thanks, Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi,I see a GSD is missing in Whitefield Manchester (M45) on page 3 of your lost pages. I work nights at Tesco in Prestwich (Prestwich is Whitefields nextdoor neighbour) & saw a GSD while I was on my lunch hour about 1am today (monday). I tried to call the dog over, but it ran off.I have just tried to call the owner of the missing dog on page 3,but the phone is off,so have sent a text instead.Hope this info helps.Kind regards Lisa I did get a text back thanking me for the info and that a mate worked at Tesco too and he would ask her to keep a eye out for it, but I am concerned that if the dog is scared then it may only come out when it's quiet during the night. If you are in contact with the owner maybe you could suggest they take a poster to staff reception and ask them to put it on the staff notice board. Quite a few staff go out during the night for cig breaks. I'm not in work now for a week and I don't live local to the store or i'd do it myself. Hope this info helps and the dog gets home soon. Kind regards Lisa.....e mail from helper. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The dog was female, friendly, short haired, black and sable with beauty spots. Medium size, didn't see how old and not sure who handed her in or from what area. If she is still there on wednesday, I'll try and get some more info! I have not been since Fri due to DW's being on holiday. I did check here and BigGSD for anyone missing one similar but found nothing.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Poster hand delivered to Bury police station and lady on reception entered details into a book for any queries that may come in. Posters put in shops near Beehive pub, around the immediate area Bella has gone missing from. Lots of people coming out of houses to read the posters and one man stopped and asked if it was re the missing alsatian so the posters that were done door to door by owner are working - it seems a lot of people in the immediate area are aware of her dissapearance which is fantastic news. We just need this young lady to come home now and curl up in front of the fire because it's too cold to be out alone in this weather! Come on Bella - find your way! x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Bolton. BELLA may just be wondering, a lot of people are a bit worried about approaching GSD how ever young and BELLA looks quite big for her age, so if there was a place she was walk often then it would be good to look there and poster, once you get sightings you will be able to scent the area. Poster like mad someone may have seen her, she may well show her self late at night of first light. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just spoken to Bella's owner. They were at a party the night Bella went missing and her son and a couple of friends were at the house! When she came home she noticed Bella was missing so entirely possible a door has been left open. The lady has done 400 posters door to door in her local area BUT these don't show Bella's picture. The lady has no internet access at the moment and doesn't think it will be fixed for a fortnight. I have someone putting a DL poster through their door tomorrow. I have stressed the urgency of going to rescues in the area due to 7 day rule. I'm going to forward posters on by email now and then I'll be postering on Friday! Will keep you updated xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

did Bella get out the garden by herself? Also owner get in touch with your dog warden and also surrounding areas also get smaller posters done and put them in your neighbours doors as she may have wounded in there garden and she may have gone in to a garage or outbuilding, make her well known and have lots of posters up, I hope she will be home soon.
