We have not posted in ages but we are thinking of you so much right now Anne. We have just made a donation due to your posting- you are being a real agent for good, rallying everyone into donating to a fantastic cause- DogLost is such a great service. I know that Timbi and Rosco are proud of their Mum- a better mum they couldn't have ever asked for. XXXXLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So sorry to hear about the loss of Rosco. My fingers are tightly crossed for Timbi's return. I have made a donation through Paypal and would also like to be able to make a monthly payment (I think you can do it through Paypal but not sure how to set it up?!). If Timbi could speak I know she would be saying it is such a trauma for both Mum and me to lose each other. We were soul mates and thanks for helping Mum through this time. Timbi says I am made of tougher stuff than Mum...always have been and that is why I lead the team and looked out for her! So thank you all for your generous donations our Mums need them! Timbismum now asking the Admin team the same question as I asked Fi and Murphys and Maisys Mum asked on here...how can we donate monthly?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

If these donations are going in would it not be a good idea to get the tax form put on site, I believe it would equate an extra ?25 on every ?100 that is donated. I know they have the form on the Greek Animal Rescue Site as I donated after I read Yiftaki's story and filled in the form and sent it off to GAR. Well done Timbi's mum for suggesting everyone who can donate. Thinking of you. Regards JulieLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks to eveyone who posted that has made a donation to Doglost. Through this, Timbi in a way will be helping other dogs be reunited with their Mums. I know lots of people, even in our extended family hadn't heard of Doglost, now hopefully some of them will donate and/or become Doglost helpers to help other dogs and their families! I'm off to donate now!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I too have not posted for a while.I am Timbismums other sister and this site has been a life line for me as I live so far away.I too will be making a donation.I have three Golden Retrievers, all old ladies now, and can imagine the horror it has been for Timbismum, I have known and loved Timbi from the moment she joined our family as a 8 week old puppy,I have only lived I Oz for two years. We have all lived life around and to suit our dogs and what has happened to our poor Timbi and her Mum at this time in her life has been the cruelist blow. I hope they are reunited and Timbi can join,Rosco, Abby,Power, and Fizliz in peace, and give my Lovely sister peace too.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I agree with the last post, Timbi's mum must be feeling distraught, but still is thinking of others, when I posted a while ago saying how lucky Timbi was having a mum like her she posted back saying it was her that was the lucky one. Timbismum, I have been following Timbis story from the start, but have never posted. I am amazed at the selflessness you show in thinking of others and asking people to donate. You must be going through the most traumatic time at the moment. You are right, the people on here are genuine dog lovers and only we can truly understand the emotions of losing a beloved friend. I will be sending a cheque for ?200 by post first thing tomorrow morning (cant do the pay pal stuff either!!). You have inspired me to do this. I also wonder if there is a way we can pay by direct debit each month (as they do for other charitable organisations). I would happily donate ?20 a month taken straight out of my account?? Thinking of you and wishing you all the best xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

P.S. I have tried to make a donation tonight but the paypal stuff got me. My sis will assist later. Can I appeal to anybody who reads this to donate even the smallest amount as it is us who will keep this site going for folk like me when the chips are down. The practical and emotional support have kept me going through this very troubled time. So dig deep if you can folks. Thanks again. XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have attempted to write for a few days but am finding it very difficult to think what to say. However I know for sure I want to thank everybody sincerely for all the help and support I have been given both by PM and on here. I can't express the comfort felt from real dog lovers who understand the emotion involved. Thanks to ANWI who is working away quietly and keeping in touch with my sis as they know I am unable at this stage to deal with making or receiving any more calls. If I get Timbi's body I will accept closure but at this stage but I feel in limbo and cannot help my feelings of a little hope although it would appear somewhat unrealisitc. Thanks to all. Thank you every one for your kind wishes, hoping it is not Timbi. However, the sighting by the first ghillie was quite definite: a husky in a black jacket in the water. The second further down the Tay was of a grey and white dog in a black jacket. Until a body is found or the owner decides otherwise, there is still hope and we will keep this thread open. (And please note TIMBI is a girl).Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Jayne for the call yesterday. We have spoken to the ghillie, and had another call from another ghillie who was working a different part of the same river, further downstream. He also saw a body of a "grey and white dog wearing a black dog coat" The first ghillie was certain it was a husky, the second one said he couldn't be certain it was, but was in no doubt about the black coat. My sister has been speaking to the first ghille and he knows of an area of the river where bodies get stuck, humans and otherwise. He is trying to make contact with another ghillie to check Timbi's body is not there. My sister needs to see her to get closure. I don't feel hopeful that we'll recover her body, but I pray we can. I will keep you all posted if we do get any more news! Many thanks everyone!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Poster getting put in my car window first thing! I have thought it many times but there is so much going on I keep forgetting my thoughts. Thanks for the reminder. The howl in the woods..scenting has been carried out. The woods off of that hill were quartered and driven for about 5 days. At that time it MAY have been her so we laid 14 food sites and had smelly kippers hanging from trees to make sure if a fox ate it there was still a smell. There is also cut up bits of her unwashed bed beside these sites so she recognises home smells. It never brought her out but it would appear it was not Timbi's howl. Nothing can be ruled out but I strongly believe she has been picked up at the end of the drive from all the info I now have. So please tell your friends no matter where they live to look out for a newly acquired mature husky. XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi hope you are doing okay, think of Timbi every day wondering if you have got her yet. The dog coat you bought I think was an Outhwaite coat 24"/26" maybe, in black. I am going to put posters up in the window tomorrow so will also put an add up about the coat incase anyone may have found it lying somewhere, that as you said may be a real clue. Have you heard any more about the howling that was heard in the wood?? Have you tried puting newly scented clothing etc out incase the scents have gone weak with all the rain and snow.Keep intouch. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Timbis Mum - DON'T give up hoping - she will come back to you I just know it. You are right about the non dog lovers - I've had a few cracks made at me for putting up the posters such as 'wasting your time' / bl**dy long way from Aberfeldy etc. Will only say they were given a piece of my mind at the time. But I do get stopped in the street and asked for any news on Timbi - even one of the policemen stopped me in the street and asked for news. Coming home from work yesterday I found myself looking in all the cars parked in Tesco car park to see if there was a 'Timbi' in it - now how bad is that. If I see one in Oban I will be supicious - cos at the moment there is only a young one that I know of around here and I've watched it grow from a pup. Sending you hugs and love. Timbi is such a lucky lass to have such a wonderful Mum.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Millie's Mum
Timbismum, I have been checking Timbi's page from the South West. I am also looking out for her in this area, (Somerset, a long shot i know) as I am also looking for Gunner a missing Inuit dog from Cornwall. These types of dog are so rare in this area, that one would immediately stand out. Rest assured that we are with you both in spirit, and hope that your dear girl is home with you soon. You are doing an amazing job in your search for her. Keep the faith, you will find her. Love & positive thoughts for you & Timbi. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What a fantastiic mum you are and I'm sure Timbi will sense you are looking for him This breed have an uncanny tracking ability. I looked for him when up north in the past week, but my time was so limited I couldn't go out on foot and slog it. Thinking of both of you. The information this site has generated has been incredible. I have not had time to report everything as I am searching very hard for Tim at present but there have been a number of calls and wee things that have all added up to a mountain of knowledge that Tim never left the end of the drive. Thank you Scottish skippy. Pls just speak to everybody you know. Recent feedback would suggest she is possibly in another area so pls speak to every dog lover you know in the country! I now make a plea to any IT folk! I need to have a poster that is not sent as an attachment cos it would appear a lot of folk do not know how to open it...like me! If Timbi has been taken from this area and is being kept by somebody who does not know huskies then she will escape from them! Although she is 15 she is not "old". Her Dad lived to a very old age. I will be contacting rescue kennels and dog wardens long after readers have forgotten about this so need a combined email cum photo to send out on a weekly basis on a long term basis. Is there anybody out there who can assist?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Busy day so apologies for the length of this message. Connel. Thank you very much for the leg work. I am sure by now you know nobody could appreciate it more! A lovely lady called by today re: a possible sighting and she knew it was a long shot but worth investigating. It was unfruitful but so appreciate her effort in "bothering" to tell me what she knew. One of these times it will be the one! Thank you and you know who you are. I met the man who phoned Fi a few days ago re: the other sighting of Timbi on the road outside the castle. He confirmed it was some time after Kirst had sighted her and so I now know she was doing her circular pacing and may have been on that small stretch of road for a wee while. I was on that road very quickly after her disappearance and no sign so it may suggest once again she has been picked up.This could mean she never left the area outside the end of the road. Can I appeal to everybody who reads this no matter where you live in the UK to tell all friends and relatives to look out for a newly aquired husky who actually only looks about 3-5yrs old!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hiya Sylv. No she could no longer be coaxed. Her characterisitics have changed so much in the last 6 months it is difficult to say but I strongly believe she would not be physically able to get into a car without assistance. She would happily go with anybody but she actually looks quite scary with her ice blue eyes and just stares at folk. However she is a babe and any old cuddle will do! If folk are fairly brave and assist her to get in she will go. She does get travel sick though and needs lots of air so I hoped after she has put bubbles of saliva all over their car within 10 mins they would her off in this area!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Well, but if you feel she is no longer in the area she was lost, someone will spot her surely. She is such a distinctive type of dog, she could not go unnoticed. Hoping and praying for you and Timbi. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Sable. Yes one little clue as to which direction to search now would be a godsend! I have still not had a confirmed sighting since Sat am. Timbi no longer howls daily but I feel if it was her howling on Tues am she would have done it again by now. She will howl if she felt lonely or upset about something and no more howling has been heard. The food sites have not brought her out so I actually believe she is not/no longer in that forest.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Family and friends here been trudging forests and hills and driving other routes today. Lots of walkers in the forest and only a couple didn't know about Timbi but they were not from this local area....but they know now!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just a thought, I took small flyers in to a local school once when looking for a missing dog - they were handed out to the children at the end of the school day. Check with the Secretary if they would oblige. Would reach a lot of people that way xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

If i had thought yesterday I would have printed some and taken them up to Lawers last night as I was there, would have saved you another trip. But anyway, I will see where I can put these up tomorow. Also, another thought I had. Is there a poster in the school? I havent noticed one but maybe I am just being blind. If there isnt, I can easily take one in on Tuesday when we go back. Hi there, first time i have been on in a couple days. Sorry to hear you have not found Timbi yet, hope you do soon. Not a problem about the 'grilling' you gave me on the phone. Was just trying to help. I saw her just out of Castle Menzies road end. I am now trying to think if there is a bit of pavement along that stretch of road or if she was just on the road but she was definatly just out of the roadend runing towards the house just along the road. The reason i didnt stop was because she was so close to the roadend that I presumed someone was following her. I feel so so bad for not stopping, if I had all this could have been prevented. So sorry. Also, been reading your threads on here. You said you are going to head up Glenlyon, well I live up the Glen and i have heard nothing of a lost dog. We own a farm up here so we are one of the first people to be informed of stray dogs so we can watch for them around our sheep. If i hear anything about a lost dog up here I willl be straight on the phone to you. Have put your number in my mobile so I can phone you if I see her at all. Sorry for such a long message, just re read it and realised the length of it! xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you once again Cazzan! I thought some days ago now to take additional posters to pubs and walking areas and ask folk to take one with them but in the chaos and turmoil had forgotten. How could I forget! Tomorrow I will go West which is hopefully the correct direction and leave a note asking everyone to take a poster with them! I will go up Glenlyon, Lawers and Tummel ways first. If anybody thinks of a good place to leave a load of posters please tell me. Thanks for the PM ANWI. Take care. XXXXLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for your suggestions Shelties Mum. I was was sent brilliant information on scenting. Unfortunately with all the deer fencing and walls around here it is difficult to carry it out to the instruction but I guess have tried an adapted method of sorts. All the local farmers are aware that Timbi is lost and spoke to several again last night to remind them. My feeling is she is in the hills to the West of where I live or no longer in the area as there has not been a sighting since Saturday morning. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

had same resident in shop today and she told me she had phoned and promises to keep an eye and ear out. I have also had two different people saying about the other dog down comrie bridge way last saturday, but we know this definately wasn't Timbi. The wind gets up every now and then with snow along the way - I hope the food and dog bed have enticed her so we find her. I have notified the local game keeper of the food and dog bed out and about on the hill also the forestry guy. A resident from Camserney just called as she has just seen a poster and wanted to know if we had Timbi back yet, I told her about the howling on Tuesday and she said she had definitely heard it too, as it unsettled her dogs, she wasn't sure exactly what point it came from, as didn't pay alot of attention. So, thats 3 reports of howling now, but it would appear it was at the same time, lunchtime on Tuesday. Thanks Shelties Mum, yes there should be alot of tourists around this weekend, unfortunately the weather will keep them in their hotels I think, it's pretty nasty, and more is forecast! Hopefully those that do venture out will see her posters. Thank you for thinking of Timbi! XXLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I emailed the Courier, and heard nothing, maybe you'll have more luck because you're from Doglost though! A man called me about half an hour ago and confirmed he saw Timbi on the main road wearing her black coat by Menzies South Lodge heading for Dull. He is a farmer, and had to swerve to avoid her and she was running on the road. Unfortunately this guy cannot remember which day it was. He initially thought it was Monday, but then said it was the day she went missing, which was Saturday. I put him under a bit of pressure and he was very apologetic, but has promised to call or text me if he can work out which day it was. Fingers crossed it was Monday!!! Then we have a much more recent sighting. I wil post here if he contacts me again. Timbi's Mum and Co are still searching the woods!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Kirst you have my thanks for the only sighting I have had and apologise for the "grilling" I gave you over the phone when you called. Stressed mum of missing dog stuff. You were very precise when I spoke to you the day you reported the sighting I had no doubts it was Timbi from her description. The dilemna we had was whether she had continued after the pavement ended or whether she turned back up the track that is situated at the end of the pavement. In reply to Kirst's sighting, the only pavement stops at the corner of the white house infront of the castle, on the road. At the end of that pavement is the old road which goes back up to the castle. Today when we were up in the forest on our way back we saw a safari jeep - and they have all had the info of Timbi and I am off to call the driver of the jeep we saw todayLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

That's great, thanks ANWI...at least we know it was definately Timbi and not the Samoyed then, so we know on Saturday morning she was heading West....which is towards Camserney...so hopefully it is her that's in the woods. Fingers crossed! If she is in those woods, she will be found, as CazzaN got a key to the forest and they have been searching it, and will keep doing so until we get another lead! The forest is surrounded by good new deer fencing, but they found one of the main gates open today, so I'm praying Timbi found her way in, but cannot get out...which would explain why there has not been a single sighting since Saturday morning. The only people who could get in that forest are the local Gamekeeper and Forestry staff!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The howling was only reported once, and it was around 1pm yesterday. It was in the woods behind Camserney. Just spoke to my sister again, she has spoken to the farmer who owns the sheep field where there was reported sightings. It turns out the dog in the field was a Samoyed, and it has now been caught. So, we don't know now if either of these sightings were of Timbi, or if both of them were of this Samoyed. Thanks again to everyone who is looking and helping. XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just spoke with my sister....they have covered a vast area within a radius of the sightings, spoken to farmers, residents, posties, pubs, cyclists, dog walkers....anyone and everyone. I have emailed B&Bs, Hotels, The 3 Primary Schools in the Area, Local Businesses, The Rambers Association, Scottish Siberian Husky Club, Scottish Sled Dog association, every member of Dogster in the Perthshire Area, it is still being covered on the local radio station and there have been no sightings yesterday or today. We really don't want her out there for another night, I'm praying now just for a sighting of her, never mind actually finding her!! :(Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Posted on husky forums. When reunited Huskypup was lost in the Lake Districe walkers were helpful with sightings, also the owners camped out and lit a BBQ and she appeared, info on the thread might be useful, hope she's home soon. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I emailed local secondary (kids great for looking out), House of Menzies, Highland Adventure Safaris who are on the road up the way Timbi went off. I also emailed council rangers, Adventure Hostel and couple of people I know in the area. I have let owner know about possibility of scenting and Majorjet emailed the info last night. I am about 40 miles away but may be able to get up there again later today. Thanks for posting Fi, it makes a big difference when the thread is updated.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, it's Fiona, the owners sister. She asked me to post and thank everyone who has been helping. The girl who posted on here and called me yesterday has been a great help, as we were not searching that area at all. We searched there all last night, and spoke to more people in the area and had another confirmed sighting of her in the sheep field on Saturday by a local stable owner. They are back searching that area today and speaking to more people. She will be out all day searching, so if anyone hears anything, could they please call me on the mobile number on Doglost (07909 895811), as opposed to the Castle. Thanks so much again for everyones help, it is very much appreciated.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

as she is deaf she will be more keyed into her finders body language. if you do see her you must relax your shoulders, use wide body language and be inviting - remember to smile!! :) i will post this to my friend at SHWA x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is a previous posting by Kirst, slightly edited: Hi there. I am from the area that this dog has gone missing in and I have just received an e-mail to inform me she is missing. I drove past Castle Menzies yesterday about 10.15am and passed her running along the pavement towards House Of Menzies (away from aberfeldy). I never thought of her being a missing dog and presumed her owner was following behind. If only I had stopped. Today a girl I work with in House of Menzies was telling me how she had passed a dog in a field near Kenmore Road. Just over Comrie bridge, near Enerfoil. She described the dog to me and it was the same one i passed earlier in the day, Timbi. But as i say, both there sitings were yesterday but thought I would let you know what I have seen. I will keep a look out for her and really do hope she is found soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you very much for that Kirst. I have just phoned the owner to let her know and I believe you had already spoke to them. Please tell as many people in the are as possible and if you could print soem posters and put them up that would be great. I searched round the area and put up posters and let some dog walkers know but more towards Aberfeldy.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have just spoken to owner. They have done numerous ground searches, alerted police, PADS, Dog Warden and local radio. Sounds like they have done alot of the right things. They have informed alot of the locals in neighbouring hamlets and they are on the lookout too. No-one has seen her. Hopefully someone has just picked her up and are waiting till Monday to hand her in. Going to head off up there now and will do a press release for local paper on Tuesday. Come on Timbi. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
