Thank you everyone concerned who have helped get Maisie home. Poor little soul was shaking like a leaf when I managed to catch her but she soon calmed down once home and my two other dogs greeted her with waggy tails. She is keeping close to me but is back in her routine already. I'm eternally grateful for the advice I was given about being just my scent where she was hiding, leaving unwashed clothing and just sitting quietly and patiently. I live in an amazing little town with a real community spirit and have been brought food and tea to keep me going!! Thank you again Fergal, you have kept me going, you were so positive. xx

Thank you Max. May I say that Julia has been just amazing. Maisie is a lucky little doggy, her mum wasn't going to give up, and thank you to the people watching out for her, every day a sighting. Maisie was definitely keeping close to her mum's scent, sitting in the same spot she had sat two days running. Just brilliant :)

Just had a call from Julia to say Maisie IS HOME!!
Apparently she has been down there sine 5 am this morning, came home at 6pm, as there was a local fun run in area & she thought Maisie would hide. She got a call at 6.30pm from someone who saw the grass moving in the area where she was last seen. She went don & lay there with some sausages, not making eye contact & Maisie came running over. She is fine, a bit smelly, and her tail has not stopped wagging :)
Welcome home little Maisie xxx Mummy can have some sleep now :)

Almost a carbon copy of yesterday. Sighting, Julia rushing down to find her, getting so close when Maisie was coming towards her she spotted all the people gathering and ran. Julia is exhausted and has decided to try tomorrow at the same time Maisie seems to be coming out, oddly the time of their usual walk. How can we, short of putting bollards alone the path, get it across to people to back off when Julia is close to Maisie, just enough to stay out of her eye-line, and keep quiet. So very difficult, it is after all a public place and everyone is naturally concerned, but this could end in tragedy if the impact of this doesn't get across. Some rain today, and storms forecast.

Julia is still quietly waiting and watching since noon, has had a bbq, and some kind people have brought her some food and tea. Maisie was sighted again on the other side of the 'field' around noon but the call came too late (a few hours) for her to run round to check. Julia did see her earlier though. However a crowd had gathered, calling and whistling at her and she darted back into the reeds. Hopefully we can keep her to the same area, as she has not moved too far and seems to be returning to the spot she lost her mum. PLEASE do not make noise even if you see her, try to see where she goes and call Julia on above number. She is getting so many 'good luck' calls though and has stopped answering. So text with 'SIGHTING' to start message. A trap is in place with food and clothing. We are hoping she will venture out when it is quiet for a bite and drink.

Lots of patience and some ham sandwiches to keep you goihg. Can you get her bed to the spot? I think it's going to have to be just you for now to build up her confidence, at least the weather is being kind. Hopefully, we won't need a trap but that is still an option.

Spotted this morning at 11 from the spot she disappear ed, it's definitely her. Unfortunately a lot of people had gathered and she's gone back into the long grass. She's alive and I know where she is. Going to sit there quietly for the rest of the day with stinky food to attract her.

Still looking for Maisie, no sightings but an amazing drone pilot is going to fly over the site tonight. I'm doing everything I can to get this gorgeous little girl home to where she's a very loved pet. Thanks to everyone for their help!

Owner regularly re-walking the reserve. Maisie was seen to swim a shallow part of river by the bridge (near The Bank Restaurant) and scramble up opposite bank heading left in direction of The Wier Restaurant, but could have come back later. She was being chased at the time and obviously panicking. Posters going up and word spreading, possibly some needed in Kings Hill area near to where the reserve path comes out (by Bank restaurant?)if anyone can pop one up? Julia, you are doing everything right, keep going and don't lose hope. We met some really helpful people out tonight and I am sure they will continue to look out for her. Dawn and dusk remember. Just do you usual walk with the pugs, chatting all the way, nice and normal. With her history, she may well be hiding herself and keeping quiet. She will show herself when she gets braver and then we can track her, and organise a trap if necessary. Keep checking your clothing and do the scenting from that point. Chin up XX
