divine1s, thanks for the lovely update and great to see Stella is settling down. Hope you will now stay as a helper and give advice to other owners who are in the unfortunate position you were in. Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

stella has settled down at home again, off work today so we are taking a trip to pet shop to get stella a new name disc, (hopefully this one wont fall off). I have a busy day ahead removing all the posters i put up, but I feel a lot happier taking them down, than i did putting them up!!! I also put an advert in our local paper, a complete waste of money, about the size of a stamp and in a public notice section, nowhere near pets corner!!!!, cost about ?30, better to keep your money and use it towards a reward. Your comments are all so nice and it is great to know that so many people out there care, it is all the horrid thoughts that go through your head when your dog is out there alone......sites like this do make you realise that its not all bad and the chances are someone is taking care of our loved pets while we are searching for them.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What a fantastic result, Stella had been lost since saturday, with no sightings. I registered her with dog lost, and she was home inside 14 hours. Your comments and feedback really kept my faith, and the advice about putting her wee face everywhere did do the trick. It seems the couple who had taken Stella in, saw one of the many posters I had placed around the town. I had a good nights sleep last night, the first for a while, Stellla is fine, and went to bed with her favourite toy. I will cotinue to check out this site and if ever required i will lend a hand if called upon to help anyone else who has lost their faithful friend. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is in my area, my son attends Kirkcaldy high school so I'll send him tomorrow armed with a poster or two. It would be best for owner to get in touch with school themselves asap as they are on holiday Friday.Being a local the first places I would check are Second Chance Kennels, thorton. Pet care centre, thornton. home a dog, thornton, langdykes kennels, kennoway. I'll walk up Dunnikier park (where KHS is situated)over the next few days to keep an eye out. I do hope she's home safe soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

OWNER< Posters need to be put up in the area on lamposts, entrances to parks and strategic places in parks, vets, petshops, carry-out food shops, local shops, supermarkets, community centres, schools, ask postie, milkmen, binmen (even put poster on bins). Ask school bus drivers and kids on the bus. Deliver flyers to houses & pop through letterbox. Hand out flyers to people in the street, especially dog walkers. Put A4 poster in car windows. Rescue centres, and police offices need checking regularly and preferably visited in person, by owner or someone who knows the dog, because your dog?s breed may not be recognised by other people. Also police are sometimes too busy to do much about it. Get some media coverage if you can, by asking the local radio station to broadcast her as missing and put an ad in the local newspaper with a picture of her. Make her too hot too handle. Best wishes and good luck. x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, I've emailed one of the dog walkers in Kirkcaldy, she will keep a look out. You could contact barking mad in Kirkcaldy, she may be able to email more people for you. Hope Stella comes home soon. Claire (keeping eyes open in Glenrothes & Dunfermline)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
