Well done everyone involved in getting Tim back home safe. Hopefully with a little tlc he will soon be back to normall. Can I suggest using a lunge line or training lead for a while. After owning a nervous collie it was a godsend, he could run & play but could be under control when scared.

Welcome home Tim and well done the helpers and to MILLY'S MUM I know you have done a lot to help get TIM home and have been a grate support to TIM'S owner, I hope Tim is ok I would think he would now need a lot of TLC and reassuring, and also may be a good check up at the vets, seen he has been on the run for a while now and who knows what he as been eating.

Thanks for the update Milly's Mum. I hope that Tim gets back home soon, but in the meantime I am so pleased that he has a kind, caring soul looking out for him and that he is gaining some of the weight that he has lost in the five weeks (what a lifetime for Tim's mum) that he has been missing. Just a little update for Tim's supporters, without giving too much away. Tim remains in the safe area and is accepting food, albeit with a softly, softly approach. He is looking good and Tim's Mum thinks he has put back some of the weight he had lost. We have a very kind, caring and sensible person 'on the ground' who is feeding Tim on a daily basis. I promise to let you know as and when I get more info.

Yesterday Tim's Mum received news of positive sightings of Tim. He has moved on from the park where he was previously sighted. Sorry Tim supporters, we feel we don't want to post any information at this stage, just in case it jeopardises Tim's safety. Tim's Mum has established a very good contact who is helping us. I just wanted to let you all know that, at the moment, he is in a relatively safe area but, as we know, things can change! Rest assured we will update you as and when the time is right. But, in the meantime, thanks for your continued support and words of encouragement. Both are very much appreciated by Tim's Mum.

No more sightings of Tim since last Friday evening. I think he's gone to ground for a while. Tim's Mum and the local, dog-owning man who phoned last Friday morning after he spotted Tim was helping Tim's Mum yesterday. They checked out an area where it is highly likely that Tim is laying low. Although a very pleasant area, it's really not somewhere someone should go to on their own. From looking at the map, I believe this is the route that Tim took to get to Northbrook Park and where he was seen to run back towards when we disturbed him last Friday evening. I have spoken to Tim's Mum about staking out an area (once we have established where he might be) and just sitting, reading and waiting for him to appear but, once again, she will need company to do this. She has been advised not to make eye or verbal contact and even, if he does appear, not to make a move and to let him leave again, if he wishes. she has also been giiven a special recipe for a doggie 'cake'. We shall just have to see where he is sighted next. It would appear that he could be frequenting a very large cemetery and so hope that (like before) he latches on to the gardening/maintenance staff. All for now - works calls!

How frustrating to be so close and not catch him ... can't think of any suggestions unless he's captured in a park and the gates are closed (with the owner inside of course!) But then you need a few sightings to confirm that ... Good luck!

Jayne, sorry I didn't answer your question about scenting. Although I have spoken to Tim's Mum about scenting, there hasn't been a single place so far that he has stayed put. It's a very busy, built-up area which hasn't helped the search. IF (and only if) Tim returns to Northbrook Park, we have pinpointed a quiet, tucked-away place where it might be possible to leave his cage, bedding and some food but, even then, there is a chance that someone might nick it!

Doglady, you're quite right by my look of surprise when Tim appeared so suddenly and from nowhere! Really he was no more than a sandy coloured blur with a pair of huge ears that obviously act like an extremely sophisticated radar system. He probably 'picked up on us' as soon we took our first steps into the park that evening. Shame there's is not a doggie race for canines in today's London Marathon because he would definitely win!!!

It's normal to wish every dog home, but I pick two or three to concentrate on and Tim is one of them. My other two this week never got home and I feel really sad, so you best make it Tim, I need cheering up. This site is wonderful but when dogs don't return it is heartbreaking. Thanks doglady and JulieS. We were having the very same conversation about nets on the way back to Tim's house! If only we had had a net... or something similar to throw over him. The problem yesterday was that he caught us by COMPLETE SURPRISE. I really couldn't believe my own eyes when he appeared from over the top of the overgrown bank and shot past. It was right in the very corner of the park (you can't really describe this area as the park as it's just a part of the surrounding area). It's RIGHT NEXT to the railway line (main commuter route into London) and from the top of the bank we could see the approaching signs to Grove Park station. However, like round my way, it appears to be very secure (new-looking, very high, aluminium-type fencing). I meant to say in my post yesterday, the two, caring local DWs also spent time there in the afternoon looking and ready to catch him with their dog catcher but Tim didn't show for them (shame!). The pond area is also difficult to describe. It's not a 'proper' fishing lake but more like a tatty, pond (quite honestly, I was surprised there was anything to catch there - sorry fishermen of Northbrook Park!). And yes, it would be a good idea to enlist the regular fishermen and gardeners to try to win Tim's trust (that's if he returns to the park). As mentioned, the man who called Tim's Mum yesterday morning, lives very close to the park and is a dog-owner himself (I believe) and so he might be our best bet. But, the thing is, whenever he is sighted (not even chased ir spooked) he just takes off and doesn't stop running (he doesn't even stop briefly to look behind). It was really quite extraordinary to see him in action!

Thanks for the update on Tim, as you probably have realised I am very interested in his story. Such bad luck this evening, but at least you know that Tim is fit and well and still out and about and no-one has taken him in for themselves. These little rescue dogs seem so much more streetwise, I suppose that they have had to be in the past. He reminds me of Yiftaki (I only read the story and was not involved), lets hope that he is home way before the time it took to locate Yiftaki. Milly's Mum would it be any good in getting a big net you could ask the fisherman for one of there big lading nets, now they would be big enough for Tim and they do have a big handle so if seen that close again by the owner could just lob it over his head enough time to get hold of him, if you are unable to get a net them make sure you have a big sheet or coat you could throw over him. I hope this will help and the next time you see him you will get him.

Well, I have seen Tim with my very own eyes albeit that he was moving like the wind! Tim's Mum's day started with a call from a man at around 11am to say that he has seen Tim in Northbrook Park (SE6 but also close to SE12), which is around 2/3 miles from where he went missing. Another caller, a woman, said she had seen him in the park since Monday, which accounts for why there hasn't been any local sightings for over a week!. My OH and I met up Tim's Mum at around 5.45pm and spent around two and a half hours looking for him (she had briefly returned home to recharge her batteries and those of her mobile phone)! And believe me, the entire area is plastered with Tim's posters. She has done THE most magnificent job - they were EVERYWHERE! Apparently Tim had presented himself to some fishermen in the park and who had fed him some of their food. He even ate a ham sandwich thrown to him by the gardeners! He then appearred a few yards away from his mum. She spoke to him softly and bent down but he just shot off and disappeared (said he just didn't seem to recognise her). We went round the whole park this evening and spoke to as many people as possible. We found the pond and spoke to some more fishermen. Earlier in the day Tim's Mum had also asked a local stables to display a poster and also had a dodg encounter with some travellers asking whether Tim 'could make puppies' and whether there was a reward!!! Back to the story. We went back into a rough, shrubby, overgrown area of the park. Tim's Mum went right and I turned left, followed not far behind by my OH. When I had gone to the edge of the area I stepped up a slope to see what was over the top. Little did I know it at the time but IT WAS TIM. As I stepped up the bank, but before I could see over, TIM APPEARED. He made a funny screaming bark noise and shot past me. I called to my OH and Maureen. but boy is that dog fit. He just skirted around my OH but Tim's Mum crouched down and nearly caught him as he ran past. There was simply no chance whatsoever of us catching him. He caught us by surprise and moves very fast indeed. He took off around the park, circled back and then up an alley at the back of some nearby houses. We didn't chase but tried to follow. Spotted him several times nearby as did other people and children. It seems he ran off up Baring Road (A2212) towards Grove Park station (a man called to say that he had seen him running). He said he saw Tim cross the busy road and then completely disappeared. We returned to the park and left some freshly cooked chicken in the place where he had appeared from. Tim's Mum has received other calls since to say they had also seen him. The very kind man who made the initial phoned to say that he was going back to the park to look in the hope that Tim has done a circle. I have to say, having seen him in action, I really cannot see how he can be caught. I've never come across such a frightened (but extremely fit dog!) dog. Let's just see what tomorrow brings and where Tim is sighted. When I looked at the park on the map, I was so excited and thought we stood a very good chance but how wrong I was!

Thanks Reynard for spotting the likeness between the dog on the Found pages with Tim. I believe I'm right in saying that Tim is neutered and that he has a full tail (is this correct, Tim's Mum?). But thank you anyway for keeping an eye out for Tim, even though you are miles away in Wiltshire! Tim's Mum, have there been any more sightings since the one last week at Durham Hill? I've not received my copy of the News Shopper yet but had a look at Tim's Missing in the Online edition. It's a really lovely photo of Tim which should catch people's attention. I tried to call you tonight on your home number but you were probably out looking for Tim or had retired to bed exhausted in readiness for tomorrow's early morning recce!!! It really is about time that naughty boy made his way home, now that he has acquainted himself with the whole of the local area and all the best 'soup kitchens'!

Tim's Mum, I received your telephone message on my mobile yesterday. It must be a worry about Tim being out there in the cold but I keep hoping that he will eventually 'latch on' to someone or just stay put in an area where you could set up his cage/leave food in someone's garden. I know 3 weeks is a long time but I just hope and pray that this week's ad in the News Shopper will job someone's memory and bring the wanderer back home to you.

JulieS, there were no reported sightings of Tim over the weekend, which is a disappointment. However, following some more postering sligthtly further afield, a woman called Tim's owner (on Friday, I think) to say that, having seen the 'new' posters she now realises that she saw Tim outside her house (looking rather confused/nervous) last Tuesday or Wednesday. The sighting was in Durham Hill (close to the Downham part of Bromley). As a result of this latest sighting Tim's owners has put out more posters in that area. He's certainly moving about. He is staying in the area, more or less, but seems to be visiting all the local parks and bits of green space. Tim's owner said she has discovered places that she never knew existed!!! Tim's Missing ad will be appearing in this week's News Shopper (as well as one for Freddy, the missing JRT from BR5!). Hope these Missing ads help to reunite these two 'boys' with their worried owners.

I had a text (I was in work and can't take calls!) from Tim's owner this morning to say that there have been no sightings of Tim since last Sunday. Now, just WHERE does that boy get to during the week, as he nearly always comes to light at the weekend?! Owner is putting a missing ad in the local paper - News Shopper, I believe (300,000+ circulation). I reckon he's found himself a regular camp where he returns each evening to sleep (who knows, perhaps he even has two or three hidey holes). Will update you further once I have spoken to Tim's Mum. I agree with you JulieS, Tim needs to get himself back home pronto before he moves back down the page.

Right! Back from walking Milly and so here's an update (2nd attempt!): There were several positive sightings of Tim from last Friday through to Sunday. Local people have been very concerned and helpful and extensive postering and word of mouth have made Tim pretty famous in the locality. Tim is staying in the area but unfortunately, going from the recent sightings, he has been crossing busy roads, including the A21 (Bromley Road). However, it is good to hear from Scotsmist that he seems to be in fine form and doesn't appear to be limping anymore (perhaps he had just cut his pad which has now healed). Although he may have slimmed down a little, he has clearly found himself a decent, local food source (probably spoilt for choice!). But I am certain that, whatever he is finding to eat whilst on his travels, it wouldn't compare with the menu that awaits him at home! With so many dogs having been reunited in the past few days, it must be Tim's turn very soon to be 'transferred to the Blue area'.

We spotted Tim walking up Penderry Rise Catford at 3 pm yesterday afternoon towards Bellingham Road, we were driving in the oposite direction to him. We stop friend got out while I turned the car round. We knew not to chase so friend followed on opposite side of road but something spook him and he took off. Drove around the local street and thought we had lost him. But then found him back in Penderry Rise close to Bellingham Road standing between two set of Iron gates that shut off an Alley with garages. We thought that would hold him until he could be caught. We had dog treats in our hand and we where able to get really close to him as he stood watching us from the other side of the gate. He wouldnt come close to get any treats and wouldnt eat them when we put them on the floor. He just watched us and listened to us. Then after a little while he just suddenly dive under the gate which we didnt think he could do and raced passed us across the road into the Bowling club. We couldnt catch him as he passed as he had nothing to catch him by. We following gently calling but we think he went out through other railings at the other side of the club onto the Bellingham Road and we couldnt find him anymore he must has hidden somewhere. We have spoken to Tim Mum sadly we didnt have her number with us so we kept looking until . I do believe he knows these back alleys with the garages and a place we will be watching. But we didnt see him limping at all he was running normally.

JulieS, of course we don't mind you posting on Tim's page - in fact quite the opposite! Thank you so much for your concern and words of support and encouragement. As I've said before, Tim's owner checks his page on a regular (at least daily) basis and is touched by everyone's kindness. In fact, thank you to all Helpers who have been posting or merely following Tim's story. Hopefully, it being a Sunday today, and very bright/sunny inbetween showers, will mean that more people are out and about and who might spot the elusive Tim. Tim so deserves to be at home in the warm, after his stint at RSPCA Godstone, albiet a while ago, and you so deserve to have him home after chosing him from a vast range of dogs at the RSPCA and giving him a loving home. I spoke with Tim's Mum last night and she was going to go out on her usual early morning recce today and then, later on. her daughter and a friend was planning to do some more postering and telling people about Tim. Owner did have a call from a man who had seen one of Tim's posters in a nearby family Club. He thought he had seen Tim nearby. This is a little further away from home and on the fringes of Beckenham Place Park but, the really worrying thing is, if it is Tim then he would have had to cross the very busy main road between Lewisham and Bromley. Of course, the man may have seen a fox but it is important that this area is now targetted. We hope it isn't Tim but owner will be extending the postering to include this area (although Beckenham Place Park has already been covered).

I'm afraid there's no news on Tim and no more recent sightings. Tim's Mum went out yesterday evening with some cooked chicken, another of Tim's favourites. She held it in her hand and left a trail (I think she said she rubbed it along the walls of the houses and up her pathway!). She said that if her neighbours were watching her they would have thought she had finally lost the plot!!! The vision of Tim's Mum and the chicken certainly brought a smile to my face, especially when, later on I was cutting up some chicken for our Milly. She was also out very early in the morning visiting and checking all the places where there had been sightings. I'm sure she discovering places she never knew existed! The problem round that way is there are so many alleys where he could be holed up. Surely, he's got to throw in the towel soon and admit that life away from home isn't all that it is cracked up to be. No doubt, I will speak to Tim's owner sometime this afternoon/evening and will update his page, if there is any fresh news or info.

UPDATE: More positive sightings in the area (at least 2 and maybe 3 definitely Tim!). One was on Monday (not sure what time) when Tim's Mum hadn't had a single sighting or any info relating to sightings. The couple who spotted him said he was running along the pavement, looking left and right and appeared scared. Tim's Mum was out and about again this morning (this Superwoman is refusing to give up now and is on a mission!). Whilst doing a recce in an area that she had received some info about (turned out not to be Tim but led the owner to a very useful dog-loving contact) she had a call from a woman who said that Tim had just been following her, wagging his tail a little, along a road very close to his home!!! The woman gently spoke to Tim but then he was spooked and shot off once again (he seems to be very good at that - little monkey). The woman told her in which direction he went and so Tim's Mum and her daughter concentrated their efforts all around those roads, including a small area of woodland, but nothing so far! I'm convinced that it's only a matter of time now but Tim's Mum knows that she needs to draw him back to home. Have suggested that she ties some old tripe/meat/chicken leg to a length of string and then tonight, when there are less people around) drag it from the latest positive sighting to home. Also, now that she knows he's nearby, she is going to set up his indoor cage in the garden with an old T-shirt, unwashed sock, jumper, etc. The good news is that Tim quite likes eating his food in the cage. Their other dog, who was sadly PTS in January, would often be looking for second helpings and so Tim preferred to eat his food in the security of his cage. And, although there are pletny of urban foxes around, most would be reluctant to enter a covered cage and take food from a bowl (suggested something smelly like sardines which Tim enjoys). Of course, there's always going to be the odd bold, streetwise fox but I imagine they are few and far between and I know that they tend to be VERY wary of cages. Of course, they are going out again this afternoon/evening and so am just awaiting 'that call' from Tim's Mum. Come on Timmy - get your little backside into gear and GO HOME!!!

She is able to access Tim's page and so reads ALL your kind messages. However, she has still not yet cracked the art of how to send her own message as, naturally, her mind is elsewhere. This is brilliant news, and you are so very near to having Tim home. The cage is going to be your answer. I'm sure Tim has had enough, and if he is familiar with a cage, then that is the way to go. Place a blanket containing familiar smells over the cage, forming a den, with the door exposed and open. Place Tims bedding inside, along with plenty of smelly food, and some water nearby. You need to scent over a wide area, with all scent trails leading to the cage. Ask the lady if she would mind keeping eye, and giving you a call if she suspects Tim is near, but if you are very lucky, you will find him curled up there. Best time to visit, would be break of day before he has roused himself. Remember not to call or shout out. Very gentle quiet movements. Maybe sit quietly and talk away to yourself. Hopefuly Tim will come to you. But you must be quiet, and do not approach in haste. He may even run from you, his owner. Good Luck. I'm sure you can crack this very soon.

Just had an update from Tim's owner. She is very upset today as, despite spending hours today from 6am, looking, speaking to people and postering, she's not had a single sighting of Tim today. Although, she DID have a call from a woman who saw Tim yesterday afternoon, curled up asleep in her back garden! The woman hadn't seen a poster until after this sighting when she left her house and found one posted immediately outside. When her husband went into the garden to investigate, Tim ran off. Tim's owner told me tonight that Tim is used to an indoor cage. He seems to enjoy the security of the cage (before being rescued he had lived with 20+ other dogs!) and when they had their other dog, who sadly passed away in January, he preferred to eat his meals in there as well! I have advised the owner to set up a regular feeding station and to ask the woman whose garden he was in, if they could set up his cage in a corner of their garden. Owner is going out early tomorrow morning, as usual.

Several sightings of Tim today (first call around 11am). Owner also spotted Tim later on this afternoon in a nearby park (won't post name on here as Tim does appear to have an injured hind leg and is VERY frightened). The owner had spoken to a group of kids and told them about Tim but told them NOT to chase him. Whilst she was speaking to another dog walker this afternoon, she saw Tim in the distance and called him. He was running towards her but then she saw one of the lads chasing him. As soon as Tim realised he was being chased, he veered off, ran out of the park, straight across a busy road (owner covered her eyes and waited for a bang). Tim narrowly avoided being hit and went into the front garden of a house in a side road. Unfortunately the lad wouldn't go away and once again, as soon as the now terrified Tim saw the lad standing next to his 'mum' he took off. He was so frightened he went back into the road and was running against the heavy traffic. When a car tooted his horn, Tim got back onto the pavement and ran like hell. The lad finally cleared off and left Tim's owner to attempt to follow him. He managed to turn off and then disappeared from sight. Owner had another call this evening from a young man who owns a dog and who saw Tim this afternoon at around 2pm (all in the same area forming a TRIANGLE!). Owners are going out again tonight and I have told her to take along a item or two of clothing (i.e. unwashed socks) and leave them in this 'secret' location. If no luck tonight she will go out at first light tomorrow morning and head for this location first of all, followed by a visit to the local park. I had a PM yesterday from the off-duty Animal Welfare Officer and have had 2 conversations with her this afternoon and evening. Talk about a caring, dedication person - I was just so amazed and touched by her concern (if needed, she has even offered to come out tomorrow in her own time). Anyway, fingers crossed for this little lad and praying that they will be reunited either tonight tomorrow morning.

Beckenham & Catford Helpers - where are you? YOUR HELP IS NEEDED!!! Tim's very worried owner called me last night because her daughter and a friend had been putting up Tim's posters in Catford last night and they were approached by a young lad (don't know exact age) who told them that he had seen a similar looking dog to Tim dragging it's leg in Forster Memorial Park (this park is very close to Timmy's home, although he isn't taken there for his walks as it involves crossing a very busy dual carriageway!). The lad said he saw a similar-looking dog on Tuesday afternoon (lad said he was playing football). Really not sure about this but we need to investigate. As the park is very large, ideally it would be great for a small group of people to join forces and check all corners of the park. I don't know the park at all but the owner says there are shrubs, undergrowth and wooded areas. Although Tim is a nervous dog, before he was re-homed by the RSPCA, he lived with around 20 other dogs and so isn't really bothered one way or the other when in the company of dogs (as long as they're not overpowering). I do think that if someone has a gentle dog with a keen nose, and who has perhaps done scenting work, that if the dog was given Tim's scent from his bedding, that he may well be able to locate Tim (if it was Tim who has been injured and is laying low). Because of the current weather, it goes without saying, that it is REALLY IMPORTANT that Tim is found. HELP and SUGGESTIONS please!!!

doglady, thank for your concern and helpful comments. Tim's owners now have a nice, big bundle of laminated posters and mini-flyers and yes, it's a very good idea to deliver to nearby houses just in case he's 'holed up' in one of their gardens and because of the weather, many residents won't be venturing out, even into their back gardens and so a personal, hand-delivered plea can be very effective. And for neighbours to have a 'quick nose' over the garden fence into an adjoining garden - good thinking!

Doglady from what I understand Tim was not wearing a harness or a collar when he went missing as he slipped out a side gate by accident. Millysmum glad the owners have done the scenting - we had the thunder over Orpington way but passed quite quickly so hopefully Tim is taking shelter somewhere.

As the owner put smaller posters in the neighbours doors Tim may have gone into someones garden and is hiding out in a garage or a out building seeing this is a bank holiday he may well be shut in one of the gardens so if possible may be the owner can check with other neighbours to see if they can see into one another's gardens. Just noticed smaller flyer's have been given , Tim could be under a busy in someones garden. I also noticed Tim is wearing a harness did he have this on when he went missing? could we find this out, Owners you have a lot of good helpers on here Try not to worry to much just take all the good advise that you can get from the helpers And I'm sure Tim will be home soon.

I've just had a call from Tim's very worried owner. Between them, they have already put up around 75 posters (more to be done tomorrow and over the Easter weekend). A friend of the family is laminating more posters, including some A3-sized ones. Timmy has been with them for 3 years and he came from the RSPCA at Godstone. He is VERY nervous because he came from a dubious background. I told the owner about 'scenting' which she did last night (husband thought she had gone mad!). It has rained very heavily today and just had a bit of thunder and lightning whilst we were on the phone (Timmy's owner was worried because he is scared of storms) and so I said she will need to repeat the scenting exercise in the area where he took off to on the day he shot out the side gate. The owner admits to not being computer literate in any way, shape or form (she says she will try!) and so she would appreciate any help regarding emailing/faxing Tim's posters to local vets, rescues, Battersea etc. I believe some of these places have received poster but she's really not certain which ones have been done. Naturally the owner is so upset, she is finding it difficult to recall what's been covered already but it's better to have 2 posters than none at all. Can anyone help with this?

Aww thanks Millysmum I had our works christmas party - random in March lol ....Spoke to Tims owner last night who has said Tim is a very nervous dog so its imperative that if anyone hears anything they call his owner straight away, I have suggested that as he is so nervous chances are he is hiding out somewhere - so have suggested they go to the local park where he first ran to and do a little bbq to see if he emerges. x
