Wey Hey..what a fantastic phone call I got yesterday morning...a very excited Michelle on the end of it saying that she had just found Sasha. How happy were we, to hear that news. Michelle has worked so hard to find her and as Tracey (alien 4398) says Michelle is a star. Despite being desperate to find Sasha she rescued a poor little dog who's owner had died from the pound...this little dog is now happily placed in a loving home and it wouldn't be here today without Michelle's help. Spoke to Michelle yestreday evening and she said Sasha was fine and playing ball with her nephews!! Great news and well done. Mags xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Terrific news Michelle and a due reward for all your hard work. Well done too for rescuing another little dog - it makes me hopping mad that dogs in pounds are put down so quickly, most can be found homes and there are rescues out there!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi michelle Well done. You are a real star !!! Not only have u spent every day looking for your lovely dog but u also helped rescue a dog at the pound. The poor little dog wud most certainly have been put to sleep if u had not had such a big heart !! You really deserve a ton of credit. You put in such a lot of hard work. You clearly love Sasha to pieces. You are both very lucky to have each other. Take care Michelle and best wishes for yourself and Sasha in the future. We just need Freddie WF4 back now. Kind Regards Tracey xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Michele, brilliant news that you now have Sasha back home with. Must have been a lovely feeling to see her, especially when she recognised you. Typical Lab wanting to find you a pressie when she got home by looking for a ball, my Goldie was exactly the same when we came into the house. Great to see you are now getting her CHIPPED and also staying on DL as a helper. Give Sasha an extra big hug from everyone on DL. Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Good to see Sasha home safe. My dogs are chipped wear tags & registered with Petsafe & have there tags as well. Ever spare collar as at very least one of the plastic microchip tags on. I have one dog that doesn't go anywhere & another that will race off if he gets chance so you cant blame yourself for not noticing a panel down. At least she is home safe & you found a lot of new friends to meet up withxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So glad you've got her back. The tag must have the owners name and address to comply with the law. I always advise a home number and mobile number as well so that you can be contacted whilst out searching. A Petsearch one doesn't comply with the law and it's frustrating if you find a dog and then have to wait for them to ring you back with the details which you could have got yourself if the dog was legal!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Welcome home lovely girl I'm pleased to here you will get a chip and that you will be wearing your collier all the time, and that mum will be a helper on here, you got home just in time as the weather is set to be cold for a few days so you will be nice a warm now, enjoy playing with your ball. Really pleased to hear that Sasha is back home, seemingly none the worse for her mini-adventure! She does has THE MOST BEAUTIFUL face! Pleased to hear that she will be receiving a chip as her welcome home present. Do I presume that Sasha will be wearing her collar and ID tag at all times now as you just cannot be too careful especially when the unforeseen happens. Welcome home beautiful girl!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Well done Michele. I hoped she would be home today. Gently gently, definitely the way to go. Glad you are staying on as helper. You will have plenty of advice to give, having gone through this yourself. Welcome home Sasha, you lucky girl x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for the advice, She is registered with missing pets bureau &has a tag on her collar which tells people which number to ring, I stupidly didn't make her wear her collar around the house, I let her in the garden at night for 5 minutes & didn't realise a fence panel had blown down. I am also getting her chipped on Monday, a very nice lady I met through Mags (Rufipol) has offered to come over & chip her on Monday. Thanks again for the advice, I will not be making the same mistake again!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am sooooo pleased for you, nice pressie for the weekend. Please Please get her Chipped and Tagged now. A check over by the Vet as she has been out so long, then they could Chip her at the same time. A nice Tag with Address and Mobile Nbrs etc is a lovely pressie for Sasha also. It is the 1992 Dog Act to have all dogs tagged and carries a ?5,000.00 fine if they are not. Not that this is ever charged. Sorry to bang on about this but I annoy anyone I meet out if there dogs are not tagged hopefully some of them take notice. So glad she is back safe with you though and welcome on board.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

GREAT NEWS, Sasha is home safe & well. I was driving around Haworth Road & Wilsden Road this morning when I saw her just toddling along the side of the road. I approached her gently, Said her name gently & as soon as she heard my voice & get a smell of me she came straight over, wagging her tail & licking my face. She has lost weight but seems fine, as soon as I got her home she was running round the house wagging her tail frantically & searching for her balls. I would like to say a really big thank you to everybody. I will definately always be a helper & do as much as I can to help anybody who is in the same position as I have been in for 2 weeks. I am soooo happy & hopefully can help others feel this way when they find their dogs. Michele x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Went back down Haworth Road today & up Lynfield Road (its quite a large estate just off Haworth Road). Whilst asking some people at the bus stop some kids came over ( around 10 of them)& asked for a look at the poster, they said they had seen her around there too, they offered to put posters up & post some through letter boxes, by time they had all asked for some posters I had none left, so they have over 100 posters between them (although around 70 of them were the old posters that I had made up before Dog lost did the better poster for me, so the picture is not as clear) I am hoping for the calls to start flooding in soon & somebody to say that they have her trapped somewhere until I get there. Fingers crossed.....Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Most sightings have been around BD9 & BD15, so if the posters could be e-mailed to the helpers in this area I would be grateful. Tracey, thanks for tip about the BRI, I will go down at dinner time & stick some posters up around the entrance to the staff car park (if I can find it). I am also going to put a few more up around Allerton Road/Haworth Road & Wilsden Road. Thanks for the offer to help in the search, all this support is very much appreciated, I am starting to feel like I dont know which way to turn now. I wish she & Freddie would just stay in 1 place long enough for us to get over there & bring them home safely. Thanks again everybody x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Michelle Just wondered if u had considered the BRI (Bradford royal infirmary BD9 ) for placing posters as the staff will come from many different directions to get to and from work. Many will drive through Four Lane Ends and up Squire Lane to get to work. Same with Howarth Rd.Thought about the staff car park, its on..... i think Smith Lane the rd running at the back of the hospital. BRI is also a stones throw away from Howarth Rd. Its just a thought. Mags and i will try get over the Allerton/Howarth Rd area this weekend. Fingers crossed u find her soon. Tracey xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Admin, I'm not sure what areas you originally sent posters to, but I think the areas where she has been sighted are out of the original postcode area - I think Allerton is BD15 and is neighboured by BD13 and (I think) BD16. Would it be worth emailing posters to any helpers in those areas if not already covered? SaraLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just had another call from a Lady who saw Sasha yesterday-Just off Haworth Road (Lynfield-opposite Tesco). She is definately hanging around the same area, I drove round there again at lunch time but no signs of her. I have put some more posters up around the same area though. I will not have access to a computer until tomorrow now, so if anybody has any suggestions please ring me on 07795 691800.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have been ringing round all the schools in & around Allerton/Sandy Lane/Haworth Road today. Alot of them are on Easter holiday until Monday, but I did manage to speak to Rhodesway School, St.Matthews, Heaton school & Bfd girls Grammar. They have all agreed to put my posters up around school so I have e-mailed the poster to them. I have another 6 schools on my list (Including Belle Vue), I will be ringing these first thing on Monday morning. I put a poster up in Tesco (Haworth Road) & the garage (Haworth Road) yesterday lunch time. I am going back out this lunch time to poster some lamp posts around the areas she has been spotted. I forgot to put the advert back in Telegraph & Argus yesterday, which I am really kicking myself for because everybody that spotted her last week got my telephone number from the paper. But it is back in today so hopefully the calls will start coming in. Mags, the little dogs owner had died apparently, so why I couldn't just take the dog on Saturday I dont know. Anyway, I am picking her up after work & will take her home & hopefully calm her nerves & keep her cosy until Sue confirms she has found her a nice home. I have not managed to get my fence panel fixed yet (the one that blew down when Sasha got out) but dont worry I will make sure she doesn't get out of the house (unless I am on the other side of her lead!!) Fingers crossed again for some good news on Sasha x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Michelle. Went to allerton area today and did look out for Sasha but no sign. I also spoke to the Pet City staff about her so they will keep an eye out. I think maybe we do need some more posters. I am working this week but wilol try and help you when I can. I think Sue has a potential home for the little dog...the only thing to watch is letting the kennel know you still want her...they are pretty keen on the 7 day rule. Sue is vetting the potential home so all being well it'll work out great. Really wish we could get Sasha found. Is Bellevue back yet after easter? If so there's a great audience to target. Hoping for her speedy and safe return x MagsLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for everybody's help & best wishes. I am now back at work so I have access to my computer. There was another sighting yesterday near Haworth Road (Just down the road from Allerton). But yet again by the time I got there she had vanished. Tracey, thanks for your offer to help when I get a sighting, I would have called you yesterday but in my rush to get there I totally forgot. I have called the lady that spotted her at Belle Vue Girls last week (Haworth Road) & told her that Sasha is still in that area, She is informing everybody she knows in that area to keep an eye out for her. I am going back over there for another drive at lunch time. Mags, I will call you tomorrow & let you know if the little dog is still at the kennels, If she is I will definately take her home & keep her safe until she can find a new Mum or Dad. Thanks again everybody xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It might be worth owner leaving a scent trail around the areas she has been spotted maybe towards a place of safety- maybe someone who does not mind her entering their garden perhaps?? this will be a good place to leave tempting food to try and establish a safe place for her. best scent trail is by owner using their own urine ( diluted) . mark areas hwere sighted and into the safe area. owner could also leave a piece of her own clothing- something old which does not matter and soak this with the urine as well.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi. Sasha's owner does not have access to a PC just at the moment so I have offered to update the page on her behalf. Michelle is really upset about Sasha...she was seen again at Fourlane ends Allerton yesterday...she was hit by a car but got up and ran off. The lady who saw her sent her son running after her and he cornered her in a garden but she was scared stiff and growled at him. He dardn't get hold of her and by the time Michelle got there she had run away again. They don't think she was injured but of course like Michelle says you just don't know. She drove round the area for hours but no joy. We really need all the help we can get to find Sasha ...... if anyone is able to force her into somewhere they can contain her and then phone her Mum that would seem to be the best chance of getting hold of her. She is quite wary of strangers. My friend Tracey's (alien 4398) sister saw her at Wibsey the day after she went missing and tried to catch her to no avail. Thanks to all who are looking for Sasha. If anyone could put a few posters up in the Allerton area please do so.....it would be very much appreciated by sasha's family. Come on Sasha your Mum is missing you. Hi.. I was talking to Sasha's owner (Michelle) today and she had more sightings of Sasha in Allerton yesterday. I believe there were three seperate sightings but when she got there sasha had moved on. Please keep your eyes peeled for Sasha. Her owner says she is quite a nervous dog with strangers so if you see her the best option is to ring her Mum asap. She did say that it may be possible to keep her occupied with a ball until she gets there. Apparently playing ball is her favourite game. Hoping for some good news soon. Sasha's owner, Sia is a lab retriever missing from OX7 area. Her ID number, which you can change in your browser is 12133. In other words if you Sasha's ID number 13089 and replace it with 12133 and hit GO, it will bring you Sia's page. Good luck with finding Sasha really soon. Thanks for your responses, I hope Sia is returned soon & will definately look out for her on my travels. I went down Smith Avenue (Wibsey) yesterday & 1 shop keeper said he had seen her quite a few times on Monday but not since, He also said the dog warden was hanging around the same day, I rang the dog warden again but they just say if they had picked her up she would be at Fleet lane kennels, Fleet lane kennels say they haven't got her but they will not let me go & look at the dogs just in case they have. I have put posters up in Tesco, Post Office in Shelf, local shops in Woodside, Wibsey, Low moor, Buttershaw,Shelf , Tesco petrol station & pubs around Shelf & Low moor. I put posters on lamp posts on Friday but after driving around yesterday I noticed nearlly all of them have blown away after the wind & snow. I am going back around Wibsey & Woodside area's today to put some more up on lamp posts. I also went to have a look around Belle Vue Girls yesterday but no sign. Thanks again for everybody's help & best wishes xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, Sasha's owner here, thank you very much for getting in touch & helping in my search to find Sasha. The quickest way to find Woodside is by going on Halifax Road (from Odsal top), you will see Tesco on your right & Woodside is the estate opposite Tesco. I would like to add a few notes about Sasha, She is a lovely natured dog but is very timid around strangers (especially men). The best way to approach her would soft & gently, she loves fetching the ball so she may come to you if she see's a ball, but she has been gone since Thursday so I dont think she will have much energy.I have reported her missing to the dog warden /police/RSPCA. She does not have her collar on as she was only supposed to be in the garden for a few minutes but I did not realise a fence panel had blown down. Thanks again & keeping everything crossed for her safe return......... Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
