I have just been looking at a spriger rescue site and they have a section for missing dogs why not give them a call and get Dot put on there. Here is the link http://www.springerrescue.org.ukLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Downstream from Monmouth, in the forest there is a canoe centre, a dog friendly pub, a rope ferry crossing and a wobbly rope bridge. Also there are 2 National Trust campsites, one called Braceland, but I cant remember the other one. When we stayed there Monmouth was our nearest town, so it may be worth targeting holidaymakers. Someone may have picked her up and taken her home, but mentioned it to the site owner/canoe centre/pub first? There is also a place for watching Perigrines. May be worth postering there too?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Still thinking of Dot and praying you make it home very soon. I have a spaniel and couldnt bear to be parted with him for just one night. Thinking of you, stay strong xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Don't give up hope Johana she will turn up eventually. Now that spring is here there will be a lot of outdoor events like gun dog shows and you should go along to as many as possible and poster like mad. Have you contacted all of the dog training clubs in your area and all dog groomers as they get lots of clients through their doors who could look out for Dot. AlisonLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks so much everyone for help and for telling us about dogs found. We're still taking round posters, have alerted all vets and feed places within about twenty miles and have just readvertised in all the local press. There have been a few supposed sightings but though we have spent many hours in each reported area, nothing has come of any of them. Still hoping and very grateful for all help. Owners have been phoned as the young pup on found is only 6 months plus and the markings do not match Dot. CJLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry I couldn't be of more help but I am in Lincolnshire. Could this little dog be bumped up to the top of the list so it will be noticed by any potential helpers in the area.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Dots owner is asking for help she is not very good with computers but is desperate to find dear Dot, so any locals please help if you can. She does know about the found dog, thank you Ashmark for pointing this out, but not able to get through on the phone to the kennels so if anyone can then please do. Thanks everyone.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I seem to remember Monmouth has a big river (excuse my ignorance, have only been once). I have never met a gundog yet who can resist water. please consider speaking to canoe groups/fishermen downstream, and poster down the length of the river at picnic stops etc. Someone may have fished her out of the river and taken her home. If she is on the thin side they may have assumed she's been dumped. My spaniel cross would follow a stick downstream for miles if he got away from me. Just a thought.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Suggest owners ring Dai Williams, racehorse trainer in Monmouth, he takes horses out in the local area. He had dogs stolen and go missing when he trained in Lambourn so will be sympathetic. I will pm bc with his mob number. He will also know other trainers, P2P trainers, and the hunting people in the area, who can look out for herLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had a long chat with owner tonight, we have discussed various things to do, ie contact vets, poster where she went missing, contact wardens, poster gypsy camps, local farm shops, pet shops, etc, good luck in getting this lovely girl home xx Owner thinks that Dot may of been mistaken for a stray, she is a little on the thin side, and also it was raining the day she went missing, so she could of looked a little bedragled, if anyone else in that area could help with postering that would be great thanksLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
