Thanks for putting posting on on Rochdale Dogs.  Have had a look, do not believe this could be Meg.  Thanks anyway.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you Greylady for your e-mail. We are continuing to check the local rescue centres on a weekly basis. Our vet has been keeping in touch with us and a vet from another practice lives about a mile from us and is also aware of the situation. We did place an advert in the local papers and have been in contact with South Hams radio who were extremely helpful. Cliff and I still find it strange that she disappeared within 50 minutes and not a sighting of her within our local community.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Pippy, great to see you on here, and good to know that you are still receiving a lot of help. Keep checking the pounds as Meg may well turn up somewhere nearby soon........there is always the chance that someone may have taken her in and then dumped her again. As she is 12 she will require medical attention, so please make sure you target all the local vets will posters in case she is brought in for treatment. Have you tried the local press/radio?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Cliff and I would like to thank everyone for their messages and telephone calls. It is amazing how much help we have had and are still receiving from friends, family, local community and from complete strangers. To date we still have not found Meg, but continue to search. She was a farm dog and not at all street wise. Meg was a very faithful and our Jack Russell (Pip) is still missing her even though we have a new friend for her. I have checked the web site address kindly submitted from The Dogmother, unfortunately not Meg. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner has returned my calls and is very grateful to eeryone for their help. He has followed up all sightings and has been very actively looking for Meg. I have give him some more numbers to follow up, so fingers crossed this might throw something up.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We seem to have a few elderly dogs who have disappeared recently............have the owners considered that Meg may have taken herself off and sadly passed away somewhere? Suzy I appreciate the help you are giving the owners here, I don't seem to be able to make contact with them ~ I just hope if someone else has found Meg and tried to call them they have had more luck!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

i have just spoken to owners, who are still looking for Meg .they have had no sightings of her at all.they are continuing to look around the area and have postered . they visited gables etc but to no avail. she is nearly 13, poor love. i said that i would keep my eyes open for her. i expect their new puppy will be going along to look as well!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Ok I will be away for a few days now, so could you give the owners a call to let them know about the collies at Gables (I totally agree it needs to be someone who knows Meg who goes there) That would be wonderful!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

no, i have not had any contact with the owners at all. as for the most part i cannot id her if i look in the rescue centres as i cant see her tail on poster or any other distinctive markings she might have. it is such things only owners know. chris and gilly seem to be the only people who have had contact with them as chris left the update on this site for them. another update would be good, as someone needs to go to gables who knows Meg as they have quite a few in there, and it is near ivybridge! it is very frustrating as dont know what to do, as dont know what owners are doing!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Suzy thank you for going to Gables Farm ~ have you had any contact from Megs owners at all (I know you have tried to call them too) and have you told them about the found collies? Some great work going on here (of course!) It would be great if Megs owners could register on here and update us as they have obviously been very active!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Given posters to Filham and Woodlands vets in Ivybridge. They were aware of Meg and will put posters up. Also got posters up in a couple of shops in Ivybridge. Spoke to dog walker at Filham and she also had heard about Meg and was on the lookout for her too. Receptionist at vets said a neighbour had seen a worried looking collie on the Cornwood Road but this was last week sometime. It might be one of the collies from the riding stable up that way. Will keep looking.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I will be down at Filham Park today, so if not already postered will do so and ask dog walkers to keep an eye out. I did hear a lady say her dog was 'rounded up' by a collie last week in Filham Park, so I will double check with her on the description of the dog she saw. Can also do vets and local shops, but if already done, please let me know. Thanks.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoke to owners before they contacted doglost. Meg went missing close to owner's house at Higher Keaton, which is off to the left on the road between Ermington and Ivybridge - she often went between home and farm there, where she had a treat and then came home again but that morning it seemed she never arrived at the farm. She knew her patch well and not given to wandering. Owners have personally visited rescue centres, contacted dog wardens and police and spent whole of Easter weekend searching, and also advertised in local papers. We are available for postering or searching this weekend or whatever we can do to help if wanted. Chris and GillyX Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

do we know what the owners have done so far? have they taken or mailed posters to relevant rescue centres. what dw's have they been in touch with. as obviously we don't want to do everything if they have already done this.like djp says , in what sort of circumstances did poor MEG go missing?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
