- I can confirm she is now in the safe hands of Wythall Animal Rescue. They are getting appropriate vet treatment for her (worm, flea, spay etc) and assessing her before she goes up for re-homing. She is well and on her way to a better life.
Admin, does this count as re-united and should I update? - 2018-08-01 19:21 Paige
- Hi Maggie, any idea where she will be put up for rehoming? Like the websites or something as I’m interested in rehoming her alongside all the others!
Thank you :) - 2018-07-29 15:51 Maggie
- this little girl completed her 7 days, no owner came forwards.
As far as I am aware, she is now in rescue where she will receive the appropriate care and attention. They will then find her a perfect forever home.
Based on the number of inquiries I'm sure there will be many people applying to rehome her. - 2018-07-25 17:39 Maggie
- Lisa P. Posters not put up, however the police have been notified also dog warden, all local vets and rescues. If it is someone not on the internet I assume they would have at least checked with police or dog warden? There are no posters saying someone has lost a dog.
If the owner is local they are not making any visible effort looking for the dog. - 2018-07-25 08:26 Lisa P - Regional Co-ordinator, Central
- Thank you for keeping us updated Maggie. Please can you confirm is posters have been put up in the area, incase the owner isn't on the internet please x

- The very kind lady who found the Daxy took her home (having signed required documents with the Dog Warden). She planned to keep her if the owner wasn't traced. Unfortunately the Daxy was too bossy with their old dog and they have taken the hard, but sensible, decision to let the Daxy go into rescue and be rehomed.
She was picked up by the dog warden today and went happily off to serve her 7 days before going for rehoming.
If anyone would like more details please contact the dog warden (01905 phone number on this site - the mobile number is mine & I have nothing to do with the rehoming).
We are not sure whether she will be going to Worcester of Wyre Forrest - I will update when I find any other details.
This is a lovely young dog who will find a happy forever home soon.
I think we have done all we can to make her details known in case she was stolen elsewhere in the Country. I have had phone calls from someone in Scotland, so the information has spread far and wide on facebook.
We will continue to look for the owner this week - I can hardly believe someone doesn't want her, but people never cease to disappoint me.
Thank you to Lina and family for giving her so much love and attention over the weekend. - 2018-07-24 07:41 Lisa P - Regional Co-ordinator, Central
- Well done Maggie for all of your efforts x

- Summary of what has happened so far as a lot of people are asking:
Numerous people are scouring the internet in case this dog was stolen and then dumped, but no luck so far, there are countless sites and facebook pages so if anyone else wants to search please feel free.
Local vets, rescues and police have been advised.
Dog warden involved.
Apparently local cctv cameras in the park were not working on Sat, so no help.
Microchip still registered to breeder who doesn't know who bought the dog and didn't want to be involved.
Co-ordinators of the River Festival have been contacted, but they are not aware of anyone losing a dog.
Dachshund club have been e mailed.
She is being well cared for whilst the process of trying to identify owner goes on.
In conjunction with the dog warden all legal requirements and procedures have been followed and will be followed until this girl is settled. - 2018-07-23 18:13 JEAN

- Could it be that the owners are on holiday and someone is dog sitting and does not who to report it too, maybe posters in the area found would help
- 2018-07-23 12:57 Maggie

- Millypod, I'm on facebook, will go to festive page in a minute. Only putting brief details to stop the facebook armchair sillyness (which we have already seen yesterday). The dog warden attended yesterday so has details. We are logging with police. I would expect anyone who has lost a dog to at least have the sense to speak to police and dog warden.
We will also go round the local vets and rescues in case anyone phones them - but that will have to be tomorrow as most are closed today.
Meanwhile the dog is safe and being well cared for.
I don't have the dog, just helping out in the effort to re-unite if it is a genuine lost dog or rehome if abandoned. - 2018-07-22 09:00 Millypod (Chris) - Administrative Volunteer
