I am so so glad that you got Flo back. I live in HX6 and my White German Shepherd Belle went missing last September. It's the worst feeling. A nice ending for you! Best wishes. StephLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Such Fantastic news !! I missed seeing this last night as unusually for me I did'nt come online in the evening. Its so good to see this happy ending and to know that Flo is now going to live with her owners daughter. She will be so much happier with people she already knows and trusts and it will be easier for her to come to terms with the loss of her owner. For those of you involved with this search please spare a thought for Freddie WF4 . When i informed Rachel her owner who lives in the Hebden Bridge area she took time out for her own search for Freddie and contacted all she knew local to the area Flo was missing in to help look for Flo too. Freddie could well end up in this area if she is trying to make her way back to home so please look out for her and poster if you can. Dog ID=12961 Welcome home Flo, enjoy your new life with your family and stay safe from now on xx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, Just had some good news Flo has been found, the owners daughter offered a reward and some local boys spotted her and gave chase and eventually caught her, the owners daughter has decided to keep her after all the trauma of her going missing, lets hope that Freddie is found soon. You have got the right idea Kathy, and well done for getting the fliers out to so many people. I know its difficult with commitments and work, but you doing very well, so don't get disheartened. It's still quite early days. As long as Flo is getting food and has a water supply in that area, hopefully she will stick around, or even if she goes hunting, she will return. This would be the natural thing once she had found a food supply. Thank you for your PM. I have now sent the scenting guidlines which you can adapt to the circumstances. Good Luck now. I'm sure you will get more sightings, just keep going with the flyers and posters and try to get in front of her if you think she is moving on. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

PLEASE DO NOT APPROACH FLO WITH DOGS OR BY PEOPLE, please just put food down and leave her, we must keep her in one area and just get her previous owners out - Kathy will do this co-ordination. if you approach Flo you will move her on which is not what we want. This dog is as nervous as an antelope I cannot exaggerate how wild she is. All we want you to do is keep her in sight and inform us immediately if seen, lots of people phone about sightings from days ago, we need to know straight away. thanks. we distributed 300 fliers to people and in door letterboxes todayLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just reading through it looks like some people do not know that Flo is a recently bereaved and rehomed dog, although from what I have read relatives of the deceased have been helping in the search. Be safe Flo.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi. Tracey and I were at Hardcastle Craggs today. We though we should treat our dogs to a good run as they have been running round in the car a lot lately with us looking for Freddie. We did have a look around for Flo and also Georgie whilst we were in the area and also on the way there and back through the valley. I did send the posters to friends in Halifax as promised and will continue to help when we can. Stay safe Flo xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've just noticed that Flo is not chipped or tagged and I would therefore say that keeping in regular contact with the pounds is even more important as they will not be able to identify her if she is picked up. Actually I would try and go to the pounds in person too just in case she is misidentified. Also, where do the owners live? I'm confused with who lives where. I'll put up posters in Triangle and Sowerby Bridge. Penny. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi. Although I can't gt out to help much I have received a poster of Flo. I am too involved in the search for Freddie in WF4 as she is my mum's dog so most of my time is spent there. However, I live in Todmorden and drive through Triangle and Sowerby Bridge every day on my way to and from work. I will of course look on for Flo on all my journey's. I know how upsetting this must be for you. We live about 22 ,iles from where Freddie went missing and I'm afraid that we have had to make work sacrifices etc just so that we can be there a lot of the time, I know that this isn't always feasible but as Flo is a very nervous dog it will probably be her owners that she will respond to rather than anyone else. On a practical level, have you printed out the small leaflets that are available here on the website? They are just small versions of the poster (4 to an A4) and we have found them invaluable. Try and put a leaflet through as many letter boxes as possible, leave them in shops, pubs, anywhere you can think of. Get friends and relatives to help and cover as wide an area as possible. Probably the best chances you get will come through members of the public spotting her. Freddie too is a nervous dog and so plotting her sightings on a map has been very useful in terms of trying to pinpoint the areas to watch. If you want to contact the Halifax Dog Wardens the number is 01422 357257 and the wardens name is Howard. He is a lovely man, a very good friend of my mum's and will do his utmost to help. Have you registered Flo as a missing dog with the wardens yet? Also Halifax wardens DO routinely take lost dogs to Marina Kennels and you really should phone Marina daily as they often miss identify dogs and remember that they only keep them for 7 days. I would suggest sending them a poster too. I can't remember thier address off the top of my head but there number is 01484 426407. The dog wardens/council will also be able to tell you which other pounds they use. I would also suggest email posters to all vets in the area as well as dog trainers, pet supliers and stores. Contact any walking groups or local scouts/cubs/brownies etc as they are always out and about. I have a friend in Ripponden so I'll ask her to look for Flo as she is always out walking with her own dog. If you want some practical help and advice on searching for Flo please look at our page...Freddie Border Collie missing WF4......as this will give you far more ideas that I can possiby type up now. Good luck. Penny. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I live on the edge of Halifax (Shelf side). I am rubbish with directions but I will have a drive out this evening/tomorrow morning & head towards Sowerby Bridge (I know where this is) as it looks like she is heading in that direction. I have printed some posters (although black & white) & will ask for them to be put up in Petrol stations etc. I would like to advise Flo's owners to put a lost advert in local newspaper as well, I got a lot of response from my adverts & they all pointed me in the right direction to finding Sasha (without them I would have been looking in the totally wrong area's), some people do not use the internet so would not think to look on this site if they know of a stray dog. Does Flo like to play with other dogs? if so I will take Sasha with me. I will also keep an eye out for Georgie, although Georgie is not the same area they could have found each other by now. Fingers crossed for both of them xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Please continue to post any sightings especially if she moves on. This is not too far from where Georgie (Boxer HX7) has been seen - not close enough to be the same area, but not unfeasible that they might move nearer to each other.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Flo was seen sleeping in a field at the village of Triangle on the Rochdale road this morning. We have firm confirmations of her seen earlier in the week Rochdale road Ripponden so we are able to see that she is moving along the Rochdale road towards Sowerby Bridge. We need posters in Triangle and Sowerby Bridge. I will request poster to be amended to say not to chase dog but simply report it as it is so nervous we need to keep her in one area. Previous owners out in Triangle tonight, food being put in the field where she slept this morning to encourage her to stay thereLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, I live on Emley Moor and I am involved in looking for Freddie in WF4. If you could change the poster to add something about previous owner being in Huddsfield I wouldn't mind putting some posters around the top end of Ainley top and down into Almondbury sometime this week as I work in Hudds town centre (if I put them up as they are now with HX6 anyone in Huddersfield wouldn't know the area!?)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi. Will email poster to my friends who live in the Halifax area. Will get some posted. Also will notify my friend who runs a local dog rescue team. There are a coupe of other local pounds. I will ask her to let them know about Flo. Good Luck with your search and if we walk in the area (still over Wakefield looking for Freddie at present) we'll certainly put some posters up and keep an eye out ourselves. Helpers where are you? Over 300 posters gone out to helpers and not one mention of anyone putting any up!! FLO NEEDS YOUR HELP FOLKS!!! If you are in the area and can only put up a couple of posters it will all help. If you're not local and could google the area and email a couple out that would be really helpful too. Please post on here where you have done so that things aren't duplicated. Thanks Catty-sara for emailing to Westmount Vets. Flo will be be confused and scared, please help to get her home. Halifax Police refused to log this as a lost dog on their database due to new law where police having nothing to do with strays. i phoned both the dog warden and Fleet Lane pound Bradford that covers that area 3 times today and Marina kennels Huddersfield which occasionally takes dogs from that area. we got news to most of the vets and Halifax Town Hall has a poster. that's all we managed to do so far as we can't get over to the area because we all work such long hours we desperate for help thanksLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

By googleing it up, it looks like its the A58 which runs between Rochdale and Halifax. Have you informed dog wardens covering the areas, police and rescue kennels? All vets can be telephoned or faxed or emailed posters. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
