What a relief that owners can now move on from this dreadful experience. It is remote where they went missing from & both dogs are lucky to have been found. Highlights the need for tags & microchips-hope Rory recovers quickly now he's back home again.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Welcome home Rory you are so lucky thanks to this sight and the helper who sent poster, Please owner get RORY chip and a tag to go on his collier to wear all the time, if dogs are chip this dose help to stop this sort of thing happening and the person who was very king to have given him a home would not have to go through this. A big thank you to that person for giving this dog a home for the time being. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am so pleased for the owners of Rory they must be over the moon to have their dogs back. Hope the kind family that rehomed him find comfort in the fact that he is back where he belongs.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

From Kats page: "Kat has gone home! Grantown Dog Rescue got the emailed poster and we recognised her, as she was in our foster care, so we phoned the number and she was collected last night! A very happy ending. She was picked up at Dalwinnie, with the Cairn - Rory and had been being looked after in Kennels, before we at the Rescue got her. She was in a very bad way, very traumatised with hair loss and very thin. But was slowly coming back and thankfully has not been rehomed. We will never know what she has been through, but now she is home she can start to mend. The Cairn had been rehomed before we got involved and our heart goes out to the lady that took him on, but we are sure they will appreciate that he belongs to his owners and will be going home.Well done DogLost, you made it happen. You've probably already thought of this, but I've forwarded the poster onto Cairn Rescue. If he has been stolen, he could be anywhere. I'll keep plastering the posters and forwarding to anybody I can think of. Fingers crossed both he and Kat come home soon safe and sound.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I know that Dalnaspidal is a remote area but: OWNER< Posters need to be put up in the area in strategic places in, vets, petshops, carry-out food shops, local shops, supermarkets, community centres, schools, ask postie, milkmen, binmen (even put poster on bins). Ask school bus drivers and kids on the bus. Deliver flyers to houses & pop through letterbox. Hand out flyers to people especially dog walkers. Put A4 poster in car windows. Rescue centres, and police offices need checking regularly and preferably visited in person, by owner or someone who knows the dog, because your dog?s breed may not be recognised by other people. Also police are sometimes too busy to do much about it. Get some media coverage if you can, by asking the local radio station to broadcast her as missing and put an ad in the local newspaper with a picture of them. In the case where they may have been stolen, make them too hot for thieves too handle. Good luck. x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
