Dear All, Sorry - been having problems posting on the site - but now I'm in. Want to say that I can never thank you all enough for helping to find Porscha, a slip of a tiny dog, who somehow managed to survive for 8 days out there. The wonderful Polish couple, who's mastiff found her, could not have been more amazing. They bathed and fed her - when I arrived they were cuddling her. They rang me after seeing the posters. Porscha is now inseparable from Rene, who is overjoyed, too shy for a picture though! Porscha has lost many teeth but hopefully she will be OK. I can't imagine what she must have been eating/not eating that week! Thanks to all of you and to Jayne for all your unbelieveable efforts. So many thanks from Porscha and Rene, Much love, FionaLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

wondeful news! just logged on to do more posters as finally got printer fixed and saw she had been found. I only managed to print 10 off from my brother's and put them up in my gym, mini cab offices and a couple of vets so will call round to ask them to take them down to tomorrow. Any others that need removing? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am so, so please that Porscha's elderly mother got her little bundle of fluff back, I would have loved to have seen the reunion. So pleased for owner's daughter, you must have been worried sick, a dog to an old person is sometimes their life line, and last but not least thank you to the bull mastiff for using his nose to sniff out little Porcha. Personally I would love to see a reunited picture of Porcha and her mum, I know mum probably can't do it but maybe someone could help her. Great ending after some very sad rainbow bridges in the last couple of days.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Posters worked. Porscha was discovered by a bull mastiff hiding under a bush in someones garden who had seen the poster and was able to ring ecstatic owner, she is very skinny but overjoyed to be back home and the 92 year old owner is beside herself-thanks everyone.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Re post on this thread 16th April - did anyone redo posters at Kenwood? It may just be someone being horrid taking them down but equally it may be someone who doesn't want the posters seen? Just a thought, JayLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Couple of thoughts, give posters to Taxi drivers and taxi ranks, also contact all dog groomers, if someone has found her they may get her trimmed at some stage. Wishing you and your mother lots of positive thoughts.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hello- getting my brother to print out some posters for me as my printer isn't working so will be able to put some up in highgate area this evening and tomorrow. Is the local paper going to run anything on it? Have emailed the poster to friends in the area incuding a friend who works at RVC who promised to hand them out to other vets.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Please everyone in the north London area - there must be more helpers who could put up posters and look for this missing girl. I spoke to Fiona yesterday and she told me that Porscha normally lives in south London so she is now in completely unfamiliar territory. She is tiny - not much bigger than a cat. Fiona is doing all the right things but she and her mother are deeply upset and desperate for any news. I will be going out again later this afternoon for more postering and I think it would also be useful if Admin could please do us the small flyers to put through doors. Thank you everyone - We'll keep looking for you Porscha. xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi again, I was wondering if you had tried going round the areas where she was last seen rattling a box of her favourite biscuits or tapping a food can. Making a sound she is familiar with and calling her name will attract her if she's hiding away. It's best to do this late at night when it's quiet. Don't give up as dogs can still be found weeks or months after they go missing.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Fiona, we put more posters up last night on East Finchley High Road and around the Park Gate estate area. There are a lot of out buildings round there that she could be hiding in. We will keep looking and put up posters wherever we can in N2. Lots of love to your mum xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I put some posters in roads leading off Coppetts Road (N10) yesterday evening. There is an area called Coldfall Wood which could provide hiding places and may be worth a walk in. Are there posters in the roads off Fortis Green? - if not I can do some this evening. Publicity in the local paper is an excellent idea, try all papers if there is more than one in the area (I live in Enfield so I'm not sure which papers you get). Good luck, hoping someone will spot her very soon. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you everyone who is trying to help it is so much appreciated. I feel so frightened that something terrible has happened as there has been no news at all and no sitings since last Saturday at 9 am. Please everyone help as much as you can my mother is just at home on her own crying all the time - and I do not know what to do or say to make things better - she just wants her darling Porsha back. Many thanks to you all Fiona xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

You must poster, poster, poster! Its important that you get Porschas posters up far and wide. Binmen, taxi-drivers, schools, takeaway places, ice-cream vans, groomers, boarding kennels and so on. Look for help from people who are out & about daily walking the streets. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Fiona, we live in East Finchley and will walk round the streets tonight looking. Please post details of any new sightings you have heard of so that we can concentrate our search. Where was she last seen? East Gate or Prospect Place? Keep us updated! xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hi- I do not have access to a colour printer until Friday but I can help with postering after that- I can put posters up in highgate and at my vet's surgery in Kentish town. Have emailed a friend in Muswell Hill who said she may be able to help with postering. I really hope you find her and am very sorry your mother is so distraught. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you SJ for your offer of help - I could do with any help I can get. Porsha is my mothers dog and mum is 92 - Porsha is her best friend and companion and they were absolutely devoted to each other - my mother is distraught and has become ill with the worry and is completely broken hearted. I am devastated that Porsha ran off in my care and have been trawling the streets of East Finchley for days from early morning till late. She was spotted by a postman at 9am on Saturday in Park Gate East Finchley he picked her up and she jumped out of his arms and headed off towards the main road- she is terrified - the sad thing is I was not called for 3 hours - I would have been there in 10 minutes!! My mother is terrified that someone is now keeping her - as she would be a lovely dog for children and has put a different collar on her so she will not be recognised. I must get her back I do not know how my mother will survive woithout her - so I thank all of you that have looked out for her and would be grateful for as much help as people are able to offer. I have only put posters up around Kenwood and around East Finchley I have been told by the vets that I should do Highgate and Muswell Hill too ! It really is a full time job. Thank you once again and please please look out for her - even if she is not wearing a pink collar it could be her they would have just changed it. She could be hiding out somewhere although I do not know how a tiny dog like her would be able to survive this kind of hardshiip and terror and foxes and cars - sorry I am getting gloomy now. OK everyone please do everything you can to get Porsha back. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi FionaFiona. Am not able to get back to E Finchley till tomorrow evening (Wed) but if you leave a post on here saying where more posters are needed I will gladly put some more up. Hoping she's found before then of course! Could you tell us if you've contacted vets, Battersea etc. as well?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, on behalf of the family thank you all so so much for what you have all done, we are so touched. Had problem logging in before, so couldn't post, but now all OK. Please use this phone no. 07940 913 066 if no response from the one above. We are also concerned that her collar may have come off. She is so tiny, we hope she's surviving OK. From the bottom of our hearts, thanks to you all, please keep looking.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owners have done a very good job with posters in the area Porscha was last seen and in the surrounding roads. I added a few more this evening to help spread the word. Sarah xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

cycled round the area on my way back but no luck- it may be worth giving a copy of the poster to the Royal veterinary college in camden? I think they also have a base mill hill way so cover a lot of the finchley/ highgate area. I can one off tomorrow and will also put one up in my vet's practice.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Try any businesses for leaving flyers in the immediate are: PO, hairdressers, bookies, cafes, takeaways - anywhere that people congregate or go in and out and you can leave flyers on the counter... also Estate Agents as they round and about all day. Also speak to the nearest Evening Standard seller - they have often had their pitches for many years and will recognise a strange dogLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have just had a quick drive around Prospect Place. Its a mixed area with flats, alleyways and some gardens. A few good hideyholes so hopefully she won't be too far away. Parking isn't easy during the day. I saw some posters up already but mostly without photos and there is plenty of scope for putting more around the area. I'm printing some off at present and will try to get back there this evening to put them out. Could we have some flyers for doing door to door tomorrow please? Also, is it possible to know the exact time of the sighting and general direction Porscha was heading so we can try to catch up with her. Stay safe darling. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
