Bless you Zizu.x A tragic loss of a beautiful girl. A decent (and probably expensive) properly fitted pool cover, will take the weight of a vehicle and no animal or child can get under it (and then not get out). If you have a pool and can't afford one of these covers THEN FILL IT IN! We don't exactly live in the Med do we? I'm so angry at yet another waste of a beautiful life. Run free at the Bridge Zizu, with our other babies.x My thoughts are with Zizu's family at this sad time.x

I'm so sorry to read this news, I used to live next door to a gordon & know what a wonderful nature they have. Zizu will have left you with many happy memories & take comfort from them & the fact that you have been able to lay her to rest where she enjoyed her time. The swimming pools and railways lines will always be responsible for taking our friends for us too early.x

I stood by your bed last night I came to have a peep. I could see that you were crying you found it hard to sleep. I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear, "It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, and I?m here. I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea, you were thinking of the many times, your hands reached down to me. I was with you at the shops today your arms were getting sore I longed to take your parcels I wish I could do more. I was with you at my grave today you tend it with such care. I want to re-assure you, that I'm not lying there. I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key. I gently put my paw on you I smiled and said, "It?s me." You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair. I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there. It's possible for me, to be so near you everyday. To say to you with certainty, "I never went away." You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew...in the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you. The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning and say "good-night, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide, I?ll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side. I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see. Be patient, live your journey out...then come home to be with me.- With love

I am so very very sorry to hear this news about Zizu. Setters are close to my heart and this is very upsetting. Thinking of you at this time & I hope your pain eases soon and memories make you smile not cry. xx

If I remember right I'm sure there was a petition on here some were if anyone knows of it could they put it up so other who have not signed can do so, the other thing people with swimming pools could put some sort of sloping step into the pool to help animals to get out and wild animals.

Yes your right unless it is a proper electric cover the animal will slip under and of course be unable to get out.

JulieS, very often it is the cover that stops the dogs and other animals from getting out because they slip under it. The cant get out.Better to have a fenced of pool - doesn't have to be high or ugly. Just make it safer.

Surely if people can afford to run a swimming pool, they can afford to buy a cover for it!!!! RIP 'Little Gordon Setter', sorry that you did not make it home, thinking of the owners at this very sad time. Kind Regards.

I have just had a phone call tonight from the owner of Zizu and it is not the news that we all wanted to here the owners have ask me to put this on sight as they are to upset to do so, she was found in a neighbours swimming pool and they had been away so she as only just been found, the owners are very grateful for all the help and support they have had to try and find ZiZU,, they have said they will stay on as helpers to help others to get there dog back. RIP ZIZU good night god bless.

Please if possible also poster Caterham- Oxted,South Croydon & Selsdon Woods, These are all within 10/15 mins of Purley. I will notify people I know around Oxted as it's where i used to live & South Croydon. Try to hit the riding clubs although unicornleathersaddlery will probably already be on with that. Hit all the local pubs & the big industiral area just off Purley Way. Hopefully this beuty will be back with you soon.

Zizudog you are doing really well as I told you the more you put posters up the better and this will get her noticed,Just keep in contact with all the rescues as I told you and also make sure all vets in the area know, I think you said you had done this the more you make her to hot to handle the better and the posting in the papers should bring some news. Julia, am sorry Zizu is missing. Make sure you flood the area with posters. Hopefully you can make her too hot to handle. Its good that she is chipped.I really hope your girl is back with you soon. You will find lots of support on here and from other sites. Stay safe Zizu. x

Thank you everyone for your support so far! We're postering up as much as we can, and have been calling Battersea everyday. Dog warden is aware of Zizu ( our Gordon Setter ), as are many other rescues. I will be putting more posters up in pubs, in case she is being sold on somewhere.Also have posters up in nearby schools, and will put one up in my school when i go back next week. Julia (owner)

I talk to the owners daughter today they have been in touch with rescues they also have posters up I have talk to Tony the dog warden and he is now aware for her missing I have also advised that owners put posters in the neighbours doors just in case she has wonders into there gardens also told the owner to get poster to the local police station just in case someone brings the dog in and also told them to poster out of the area ie New Addington if helpers in this area can also poster this would be of grate help just in case she was pick up and been sold on.

Has the owners been in touch with Tony the dog warden number is07881501467, also all the rescues in the area Foal Farm, 01959572386, Last Chance 01732865530 Batersea, 02076279234 RSPCA Godstone 03001230741. I will put posters up at the Riddlesdown common owner get lots of posters up all along the Purley way may be you could team up with POPPYS owner missing from Wallington surrey. make sure you take a poster in to the local police station just in case anyone take it to the station. Also check with all the neigbours just in case he has wounded in there garden or garage get smaller posters made up and hand out to dog walkers, Put all your posters in Plastic covers as they are forecasting Rain this week-end. I hope he will be found soon.
