By the edge of a wood at the foot of the hill, Is a lush green meadow where time stands still, Where friends of a man and woman do run, when their time on earth is over and done, For here between this world and the next , Is a place where each beloved creature find's rest ! On this golden land they wait and play till Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day. No more do they suffer in pain or sadness for here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness!!!! Their limbs are restored their health renewed their bodies have healed strength imbuled !!!! They run through the grass without even a care, untill one day they Stop and sniff the air !!! All ears pricked forward, eyes dart side to side, Then all of a sudden one breaks from the pack ! For just that instant their eyes have met Together again person and pet, So they run to each other these friends from long past, The time of their parting is over at last !! The sadness they felt whilie they were apart has turned into Joy once more in each heart, They embrace with a love that will last forever and side by side they cross over together !! Run wild and free MONTY with the warmth of the sun on your back forever x x What a beatuiful boy x safe and sound forever xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So sorry, not been on for a few days. MDH is Manchester dogs home. I was there on Thursday but don't recall seeing the dog I thought was similar to Monty, it could of still been there but I had a lot on my mind (a dog I've adopted went and bit my son without warning, needed advice plus was looking for Zay-us). I took with me all missing dog posters from Greater Manchester of the last few weeks and put them up on the lost board but not Monty's. I'm printing Monty's now and will take it up on my next visit and will try and find out, if it's not there, where it went? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There is a similar dog in MDH lost section, not sure how far away you are but I do believe dogs are collected over a 50 mile radious by DW's.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have spoken to owner and Monty was SIGHTED in the Abbots Road Area but she could not remember exactly when the sighting was and will have to ask her partner. Owners have said they will try and post updates. Many thanks to Bill the DW for posting on site and also hopeithelps for all your hard work postering ! PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just to confirm where I've posted - posters handed into Holmefield vets (Brayton) and Dam Vets (Leeds Rd, Selby), Pets at Home (Selby) and Jolleys Pet store (Selby). Put up posters along the canal - at both sides of Brayton Lane, both sides of Bawtry Rd, next to the swing bring nr the Waterfront, at end of Bawtry Close - ped access to Abbots Rd estate. Ran out of time and posters (printer is v dodgy) but would suggest Recycling Centre, Highways Agency both on Canal Rd would be worth contacting, as well as the Railway station and the pubs in the area. Plus there is the Boat centre on Bawtry Rd. Not sure which primary school is the catchment for the Waterfront but it would be worth contacting them - children are very good at spotting new dogs in the area. My son attends one of the high schools and will ask him to spread the word. Owner if you need any more help please free to contact - either through pm or on the mobile no I contacted you on the other day. Fingers crossed Monty turns up soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The owner contacted me soon after Monty went missing. Unfortunately I have not had any reports or sightings of him in the area. I have the owner's and Monty's details in my office and in my vehicle and will contact the owner if I hear anything at all. Hopefully Monty will turn up safe and well.
