- Ohh, I am SO SO Sorry, i was away from Social Media yesterday & am only just seeing this Tragic, Heartbreaking News :(
Sleep~Tight Beautiful Dougal, Run Free in the Fields at The Bridge x
-My Thoughts & Condolences are with Your Family at this devastating time :(
...
Ohhh , I have just been reading further details & poor Dougal had been lying deceased on the tracks since 29 Aug., - the Incident had been Reported & NetWork Rail were already aware that Dougal was straying in the area but 'Mitie' who are responsible for clearing the lines had not been informed !
Clearly, there needs to be Official Apologies & huge improvements in their Communication system, doesn't there ?

- FROM DOUGAL'S FAMILY:
We must unfortunately announce that our boy Dougal was found on the tracks earlier today.
This week has been incredibly hard for all involved and we are truly grateful to all those who have supported us through this time. To those who took the time out of their day to help us search and put up posters we can never repay that debt.
Although it is not the ending we hoped for, it has offered us closure and we can find peace in the fact that he is now a place full of fields to roam and balls to catch, barking til his little hearts content.
May I ask that we now have some time to grieve in private as a family.
To quote Winnie the Pooh ‘How lucky we are to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard’
We love you Dougal doo x - 2018-09-06 18:41 Jan -North West and Police Liaison Coordinator

I saw a dog matching the description chasing a chicken down the lane towards the farm yesterday. Naturally thought nothing of it because owners let them of the lead down there. Will Keep eyes peeled - 2018-08-31 21:57 Callum Wright

Possible sighting at Willington Road / Shay Lane in Oscroft near the new houses/ barn convention yesterday at 12.30. 2 men with a white van were seen trying to get a dog of Dougals description with a lead on. Unfortunately we don’t know the colour of the lead. They may have been working on the houses (possibly gasmen) if you know them or someone who was trying to catch a dog please ask them. We’ve asked some of the home owners and they don’t know of any dog of his description living near there.
Please spread this to friends in that area.
If sighted PLEASE get Photo - and mark position.
Thank you everyone for all your efforts in getting our Dougal home.- 2018-08-31 14:29 Sharon - Social Media Volunteer

- This could be totally unconnected as I am not in the right area but thought I would add just in case. I live in Barnton, Northwich and yesterday about 5.30pm I saw what I thought was a poodle but looks similar to Dougal, I only saw it for a minute as I was driving past just thought it was odd that is seemed to be on its own. It was on Beech Road in Barnton. As I said could be totally unconnected but just in case. Didn't see a lead on it but again only saw it for a minute driving by.Last edited: 2018-08-30 11:59:39 by Juliecats7

- Really need feet on the ground to poster wider area around Cuddington all help gratefully recieved I am printing a batch of posters and will leave at 4 Paws Kennels and Cuddington Station. Locals are rather sensitive about Fly Pisting so commercial premises with permission will keep everyone happy
