The owners have been contacted and will be collecting "Bear" as soon as they can. Thank you everyone for sharing this post, a great result for all concerned. No need for condemnation or criticism, only the owners know the circumstance of his escape and I'm sure they were worried sick all night. - Thank you so much Peter for your call.The owner has been in contact with the local out of hours stray kennels.I will move to reunited once confirmed the dog has been collected.

- Jan, So do we. Strange that they have not been in touch as we (Mountain Rescue Team) have sent text message and left VoiceMail. Police have traced owner to North Yorkshire (chip is registered to an address in Lancs!) but nobody at home as, presumably, they are holidaying in the Lakes. I have returned to try to edit the entry as postcode should read CA11 and the dog is Male (must have missed the field). Chip number is incorrect as I cannot remember beyond the first 10 digits.
