A message from Freya:

An anniversary day none of us want.
6 years without our gorgeous Sprocker Spaniel Willow.
It’s obviously a day of reflection.

We have plenty of happy memories with her BUT these are all distant memories since she was stolen.

I’m upset that someone stole her.
I’m upset that she is living with someone else
I’m upset that although she is microchipped (to 3 databases) she has not once been flagged by a vet as stolen.
I’m upset that after all the publicity & raising awareness of her that no one has come forward.
I’m upset that I did everything that was needed but still after 6 years she is not home.
BUT please never think it is too late to do the right thing!! She is part of our family until she draws her last breathe!!
I’m upset that the system is still broken. Although the Pet theft abduction is now law we need more!!

I think of her most days, it haunts me. Others just have to block the event & her out to carry on. 😓 💔

Crazy that it’s not just us that have to deal with a day like today, but there are plenty of other families out there going through the same. Some more years than us, some just starting out on this terrible path.

All I can say is please have strength to keep going, no matter where they are they are still part of your family. Have hope that one day to be reunited.

Thank you to everyone for all the shares, messages & posts you send.
It’s nice to know there are more pet lovers out there than pet home breakers.
Thank you to all the organisations that help post about missing/stolen dogs.

Keep making her "TOO HOT TO HANDLE" If anyone has any idea of where Willow could be; someone must know, please contact Doglost on 0844 800 3220, then when the thief is caught, I would have great pleasure in chopping their hands off. And if you can post a STOLEN DOG in a National newspaper. All xd.

I have seen a dog just like Willow in Kent. There is a Gypsy site at Ridham Dock, near Iwade in Kent where I live and where I walk my own dogs along the estuary. This dog is chained up and has only a small little kennel. I saw it only yesterday. There appears to be lots of other dogs just wandering about the site or chained up. Obviously I can't be sure 100% it is Willow but I remember seeing on facebook about the search for her and this dog looks very much like her.

Hi Freya have you seen the Facebook page for hopes new road to recovery. This is a brown spaniel purchased at a horse fair in Kent. The new ‘ owner’ says she is 6 year old and originally came from Wolverhampton. She is chipped but to the breeder. If you haven’t already it might be worth a look. The new ‘ owner’ is open to reuniting if stolen.

Willow is featuring on BBC1 Rip Off Britain on Monday, 20th January at 9.15 am.

Find me on the BBC 9:15-10am on 20th I am talking about how heartbreaking it is to have a dog taken, how the law doesn’t fit the crime & how little is done to help.

Willow’s chip is definitely up to date & registered as I only changed her details in April 18 as we moved then. Crawley is also about 3 hours away, so I doubt this dog is her.

Copied fromFB 1st Feb. "Yesterday evening a deceased dog was bought into Harvest Vets- Maidenbower, Crawley West Sussex by police. Was described as a liver/brown spaniel type dog. Is microchipped but hasn't been registered to database. No collar. Was found on M23 (unsure exactly where) Police and Harvest staff have advised not to view dog due to injuries sustained. Also unsure of gender due to injuries. We have the chip number so hopefully can be ID'd this way. Police CAD number is 890 31/1/19" Possibly dumped after being made too hot to handle ? x

Found in Midlands, could it be Willow - 8424 posy wosy ,came in MON 22/10/18 TIME UP MON 29.10.18 ,cocker spaniel,female,not microchipped,pulled on a lead,quite petite in size,very waggy tailed,matted ears and back end and tail,has also had a clip,very affectionate,sweet darling girlie,smelly dirty coat,transporters are going to need a lot of air freshener,dirty ears,needs a good bath,4 to 5 years old,teeth quite plagued at back,doesn't seem to have had any training. HI, I have seen a similar dog on Facebook. long shot maybe but thought it worth adding. it does say on the advert via Jenny Wright Doglost Hampshire - cant copy pic. it shows on Facebook under a lady called Sarah Jane Sinden but she has shared it with several people.

Found Fareham Hampshire. Female poor condition. Has collar but no tag. Swollen face and not eating . Have advised finder to scan and inform dog warden

UPDATE

Chipped but chip not registered. Aged approx 6 based on chip date and vets best guess. Filthy dirty, very short dock, her mouth is swollen as her teeth are bleeding, falling out and the smell is like death, weight 6.7 kg. We have given go ahead for immediate vet work on her teeth as she is at risk of sepsis or worse, small amount of white on chest. More pics added. We have called her Wilma :)
