A lady had found a dog matching Benji's description and was walking down the road with him when approached by a man and a woman stating they were the owners. The lady had no reason to not believe them so handed him over. I believe when we have done the door to door postering we have postered to this couple's house and they have seen the posters all around the immediate area. Owner's think they got scared and set him free. Somone reported a loose dog to RSPCA who came and caught him. They saw the posters, rang Amanda and said we think we have your dog - if the chip details match up we'll return him asap. He was back home within the hour! Thanks very much to all eagle eyed neighbours who received a poster through their doors. If you could now keep your eyes peeled for Oz who went missing around the same time. Much appreciated xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Keelah - Benji is one of the dogs I've requested media attention for yesterday. Spoken to Mandy tonight and a lady from Sale says possible sighting around the Lowry centre near Tesco express. Can any helpers that way please keep their eyes peeled. Also one of the houses we did door to door have put the poster up on a tree outside the house. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Saw a dog with same markings as Benji this morning on Ashton Park but this looked more like a lurcher than a collie. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, Yes that will be a great help, the co-op said they would put one up. I will get some big posters printed out and put them on manor ave, we did some the other day but have not checked to see if they are still there. Thanks.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just to let you know that I've been to Co-op today and I can't see a poster anywhere! I'll get some more printed tomorrow and hand to all the shops in the village. Also, it may be worth checking the possible sighting on Manor Avenue so try and get some posters (like the ones you have in the park) up round there. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Amanda - thanks for registering. Have you had any further sightings? I still need to check the one you gave me last night but I'll chase that tonight. Have you reported Benji to Trafford Dog Warden yet? Also, have you checked with Society for Abandoned Animals, Manchester Dogs Home, Leigh Animal Sanctuary? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have been out this evening doing door to door with posters, sat in ashton park for a while but no sign of Benji. Covered all of glebelands road and side streets on the way back home. Also left posters in ashton village at sorento, and the co op. I am hoping we hear something soon. My son and other dog are missing Benji like mad, my son was in tears last night he is so upset he has special needs.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Went out with Amanda, her husband and their son last night delivering posters door to door. We have done Dumber Lane, Davenham Road, (a bit of) Glebelands Road, Little Ees Lane, and the next two roads along on the left hand side. We had to call it a night around 8.30pm as they needed to get their son home to bed. Amanda took the remaining leaflets from me and they are going out again today whilst their son is in school. They have my number so as and when I receive updates I'll let you know. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
