He has been found. Lying in garden near st georges park. Doesn't seem that injured but off to vets for a check up. Thanks for everyone for their help and support. Definiately going to register as a helper as word of mouth certainly works! Lisa Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Lisa, continue as you are doing with the posters, you need to spread the word far and wide as you are doing. You could try contacting your local sorting office so the posties are aware and also the bin men on bin day. I expect you are anyway, but put posters up at bus stops, railway stations too to catch the people passing in/out of the area. Also try and give local taxi firms some posters too.....they're obviously driving all over the place so may spot Charlie on their travels. Well done with the radio appeal, have you tried getting in touch with the local press to see if they'll run an appeal as well? We have a lady at DL who can help with PR if needed. Will let her know about Charlie, and I'll email you her number so you can get in touch with her. Come on Charlie boy, show yourself. x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Viszla Thanks for your note, i've spoken to the both these school and ursuline. They have notified the caretakers, and the bwd school has even sent an email around to all its staff and pupils for me, which was very kind. The toby carvery has also been given details. Just been out with more posters covering shenfield high school & roads surrounding it like oliver and tennyson. Have a friend covering the long ridings area tonight. I have fingers crossed to hear something soon. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

My father lives in Shenfield so we shall spread the word as far as poss. Have you thought about notifying Brentwood School and Brentwood County High School both of them have extensive grounds which border Shenfield Common where Charlie was last seen?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

HI Thanks folks for your support and help. To date i've covered posters in: thorndon park, st georges, shenfield common, worrin rd, priests ln, shenfield high st, shenfield rd, bit of hutton mount (they big yellow and hopefully can't be missed). Also spoken to Police again who are keeping a look out. And contacted dog wardens and their respective kennels in Brentwood & Havering. Radio appeal on phoenix went out this morning and will go out again tonight. Leaflets have been ped to worrin rd, crescent drive, priest ln, hogarth rd (and rd connecting to priests ln), and middleton rd. No news or sightings as yet. Fingers crossed I get something tonight or tomorrow morning. Charlie is a very scared dog (bit abused before) and he hates men. Usually fine for strange women to approach him slowly (incase you see him). Thanks so much everyone for looking and giving me ideas on what else to do....I do feel so helpless! I'll keep you all updated and thanks. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Charlie was clipped by a car outside his home on Shenfield Road, opposite Hallwood Crescent at about 11.30am yesterday. He was then seen in Priests Lane near the Toby Carvary about a minute later but other than that his owner has had no more sightings. She has done a good job of contacting people and postering but if there is anyone local who can help she?d be very grateful. Charlie has only been with her for 3 months (previously came from greyhound rescue) but does like to curl up asleep under bushes (bless him!), so he may have taken shelter in a garden somewhere. Owner is going to post an update on here when she gets in from searching, but she has contacted RSPCA, local dog warden and kennels, vets. She?s also done a lot of postering and leafleting in the area. She?s left things outside nr/in garden so if he does come back to the area hopefully that will tempt him in. Stay safe Charlie. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
