- May you find more peace and happiness than you found here, little Toby.

- The posts on Toby`s page haven`t accused the kennels of murdering a defenceless dog, including myself. maybe Fb, had something to do with it? (I personally don`t do Fb) I absolutely adore all animals, but in Toby`s case, you had no choice, if he was a threat to humans He was probably mistreated when young by a previous owner,as you say. On West Mids radio last week there was an animal behaviourist who stated that if a dog is aggressive, (Not fear aggression) then it has been ill treated in the past. And also said that dogs aren`t born aggressive. Shame on the so called human who may have abused Toby:-(. You disgust me. You didn`t deserve this Toby. Some so called human let you down. I hope they never find peace. i would say to them "What comes around goes around" Remember Karma.
Nightie, night, Toby, sleep tight, and have fun with Judy (Very friendly Staffie girl) who is waiting to play. RIP+ God Bless x A~~~Candle~~~burns for you Toby. Run free (HUG) x Now with the Angels, surrounded by love. Last edited: 2018-10-10 11:41:45 - 2018-10-09 17:04 lolbeck

- Taken from the response by the kennels where he was taken to.
A statement from
the kennels .......
Let me clarify a few things to those who seemingly think that we, FOBK, are simply ‘murdering’ a defenceless dog who is terrified in kennels. I’m actually shocked and horrified at these comments, all the staff at the kennels are true animal lovers and there’s nothing more we want to do than help the dogs or any animal for that matter! Please
ensure you have the full facts before making stupid comments, thinking you have all the answers and it’s an easy situation to resolve. Toby wasn’t tied to a tree and left with his teddy bear, his owner gave him to his best friend to bring in as a ‘stray’ on his behalf as he couldn’t keep him anymore and the story of where he was found was made up. Upon arrival he showed aggression to a member of staff in the shop at the kennels. After receiving info that helped us find the owner from a member of public, the owner was encouraged to come into the kennels. He came in and said he couldn’t reclaim him due to a change of circumstance, and knew that with his unpredictable aggression issues towards people he wouldn’t be able to be safely rehomed. Toby was then signed over to the kennels. We’re aware that Toby has had prior past relating to his aggression around people, maybe if he had been treated better throughout his life things may have turned out different for him. We haven’t been able to get close toto Toby since coming in, but by no means this doesn’t mean we haven’t really tried. He is eating, drinking and going the toilet absolutely fine, so he is coping as well as he can in kennels in comparison to some very nervous and stressful dogs we have with us. This is never an easy decision to make, however for the safety of the staff, and more importantly the members of the public, if Toby was to be rehomed, we have no other choice. A rescue approached me yesterday and I explained this to them, it’s not simply fear aggression it is aggression where he could really hurt someone. As I say it’s not a simple situation to either get a behaviourist in or get him into rescue when no-one can even safely get into his kennel. I understand it’s a sad situation, believe me no-one’s more upset than the staff who know the real life of Toby up until this point. I hope this clarifies a few things for you all, in future I wouldn’t be so quick to jump to conclusions and consider there could be more to the decisions that have been made.
If anyone has any queries, please contact FOBK direct. - 2018-10-05 06:46 Unknown

- Thanks GillyP Good age too. Some people get the wrong idea about Staffordshire Bull Terriers don`t they? A relative of mine had a Staff for about 14 years. One person said "That dog is too dangerous to be out" and insisted it should be pts asap:-) A friend was once walking her Staff, when all of a sudden, passers by quickly moved out of the way.. Until she told them that her dog was no threat. I think staffs are known as
"The nannies of the dog world" as they are so good with children. The media is to blame.

- GillyP Sure he will have his teddy with him. Such a shame. But why would an uncaring person bother to leave his teddy with him? It seems odd to me. Unless the owner has passed away, and relatives have abandoned Toby.
I know this can happen. Whatever the reason. all they needed to do was to contact a Staffordshire Bull Terrier Trust, or an Animal Rescue Centre.. Maybe someone who read Tonby`s post, will know something such as the owners identity. Hope he was`nt abandoned for a "Younger model" Hope he soon finds his forever home. Am more than willing to donate towards his care. Please keep us posted on his progress. Last edited: 2018-10-04 08:43:03 - 2018-10-04 08:28 Sharon - Social Media Volunteer
