So very sorry to hear about Bear? but why, do people insist on feeding cats that are obviously owned? Something, I am not a fan of. And why would someone else keep him, when he was obviously owned? As you say.they should have contacted the number on bis tag. The problem is this isn``t that uncommon. Nightie, night, Bear, sleep tight, and have fun at the bridge with Dave who has also passed to the bridge, and, is waiting to play. RIP+ God Bless x A Candle burns for you Bear. One day when the time is right, you will meet Bear at the bridge. Forever together. Now with the Angels, surrounded by love. At least you have closure, and can lay Bear to rest, knowing you will see you boy again, We had our cat cremated, when she passed away last year. We scattered her ashes in the garden she loved. We also have a memory box for her, with her photo`s, cards of sympathy etc. Although she lived, until about 19 years old, she is still very sorely missed, If you want to you could also put Bear on Cat Protection`s Wall of Memory, and pay tribute to your boy. This is what we have done for our cat. It may give you some comfort. It costs very little too do. God Bless xLast edited: 2018-10-16 13:51:41

Very sad news from Bear’s owner
Bear is home where he should be with mum. Sadly i found him passed away today. Whoever had him fed him and kept him and did not call the number that was still on a tag on his collar. Hes home wrapped in a blanket and i will take him to be cremated tomorrow. I will miss him for the rest of my life, my little boy that never had a chance to be a man.

TRe: outbuildings. If an outbuilding missed, never too late as some cats can survive without food for weeks. They will lick on relevant items to keep themselves hydrated.

Presume ALL outbuildings checked, including empty houses. and cellars, THOROUGHLY, as some cats will hide in., or behind an object within, especially if timid. Empty contents of the hoover onto the garden, as his scent will be there. Just because you don`t see a cat doesn`t mean they aren`t around. Put some tuna, or chicken in his dish, and call him; night/early morning is best. Rattle some treats too. Place his UNWASHED blanket into a clean container, along with your scent too. Leave in the garden in a sheltered spot. or hang on the washing line if dry; used towels too. Wipe his scent on your garden fences, gates, doors too; anything leading up to the garden. Try a squeaky toy, as it may attract his attention if around the area. Walk around the area, holding an object with his sent on, rattle some Dreamies. Someone may be feeding him. (Common problem). A cat that had been missing for THREE MONTHS was found by the owners brother, only ten minutes from his home. A woman had been feeding him fresh chicken every day, so you never can tell. When it`s nightfall, and you are searching, use a strong torch as the light will reflect a cats eyes. Poster around the area, and post flyers through doors too. Ask around, especially those with children, as they can be very observant. Hand out posters to passers by too: as many as you can, when, and where you can. Post a LOST CAT ad in a National newspaper, in case he has climbed into a vehicle, which isn`t unusual for cats to do. Is there a dominant cat in the area? As sometimes they will chase a cat out of it`s own territory, however the cat usually returns when they think it`s "Safe" enough for them to do so. But a few cats will get lost, and become disorientated. Hope Bear is home very soon. Paws xd.Last edited: 2018-10-06 08:09:55
