Rolfs finder Tracey Forresters story
I can’t tell you all how happy I am that this beautiful little boy has found his way back to his mom. I’ve spent many hours this week trudging round this park with my own dog looking for Rolf. I wasn’t going to go today because I have a visitor coming to stay with me tomorrow from Austria, but after reading Sara’s post this afternoon I decided that we would go out again. I stood at the miners art work deciding which way to go as I knew that it would be getting dark soon and I didn’t want to be there alone in the dark. It was while I was standing there that I heard the faintest of whimpers coming from the thicket just below. I followed those whimpers praying that it was Rolf and it was. He didn’t move, just looked up at me. I had no idea if he was injured or anything and he was still wearing his jacket. I just scooped him up and took him back to my car and wrapped him in towels because he was very cold and shaking. The rest is a bit of a blur because I was frantically trying to contact Sara which wasn’t easy because I was crying and kissing little Rolf and asking him to hold on until I could reunite him with his mom. I’m still crying now, but happy tears. My own dog who is a 20 month old Cockapoo normally jumps up and gets very excited and a little bit jealous if I ever stroke another dog, but she just knew that whatever I was doing I was helping one of her own, and she was on her very best behaviour.
Get well soon Rolf, I probably won’t sleep tonight either as I’m so excited that you’ve been found. Lots of Love Tracey & Ripley 🐶💕

OMG - I’ve got him back - he’s in vets overnight being re-hydrated and fed. He’s very thin but I’m hopeful he’ll recover and he’ll be home tomorrow. Tracey Forrester found him and brought him back to me. I’m so thankful to you all. I’ll update you tomorrow 🤞🙂😀

Dear Rolf’s friends, I’ve just spoken to the park warden and he and his crew are going to search the protected nature reserve tomorrow for us. Please don’t search yourselves because it’s potentially dangerous due to hidden pools and soft ground but also, because there is an invasive plant that they do not want spreading throughout the park and people’s gardens xxx
