Wow, well done! Just shows its worth getting up early. So relieved to hear that she hadnt got impossibly snagged up by her lead. Sounds as though she may have been caught on something and managed to free herself. Those leads do frighten dogs if you do them, Im sure we have all done it at some time. Hope you have a lovely life together. It will get easier as she gets to know you betterLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Isn't it fantastic news!!! We've been out since 6.30, and only just got back in to come and update, so I'm so pleased Donna has filled you all in. :thankyou: Yvonne phoned us as soon as she had her, she was so relieved bless her. I said to Yvonne, pleeeeeeeeeeease get rid of that silly lead now, and she said, no need - Katie's got rid of it herself! LOL! She'd managed to get her haltie off and get rid of the lead. THANK YOU to everyone who helped look for Katie, especially Donna and family - and thank you to everyone for their good thoughts and speedy safe return thoughts. :THANK YOU ALL: What a fantastic way to start the day off!!! I'm off for another blub in private. Sarah Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yvonne has just phoned - Katie is found!! Yvonne went back to Sandringham at first light, she returned to the visitor centre about 7am and was standing thinking of her next steps when Katie just appeared from around some trees! She took a little coaxing but Yvonne had some food with her. Katie had slipped her harness completely. Thanks everyone for all the concern and ideas.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Muns - yes I had both of my border collies out, one who is similar in age to Katie. Trouble is Katie is a very timid little girl and may have just gone into hiding. Fingers crossed for everyone today - without sightings it is hard to know where to look after two days. Yvonne just needs an incredible piece of luck right now. She has more people going out to help today - really kind people who simply offered to help yesterday. Keep thinking of her and Katie everyone please.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Wishing you a successful day. I assume maybe BC Norfolk has one of her own dogs with her if Katy loves to play with other dogs-may be a way to draw her out of hiding. At least there will be loads of folk around this area for sightings and many will have dogs with them. I do so hope you get her home today Yvonne. Praying for you and Katy.....Though I am in Norfolk I am about 60-70 miles away but with you in spirit! I am hoping to see Katy in the blue very soon but should she not I will try to help if needed. Hi I have been helping out look for Katie today. We have walked most of the area where she was sighted this morning but with no luxk. We have also gone over to Wolferton later on and walked through to the back of the RSPB site - but no luck. We have postered in Wolferton and Snettisham Beach and alerted more people in those areas. Yvonne lives in Dersingham - she is the florist in the village, called Flowers by Yvonne!! She is going to go out first light and back to where Katie was sighted this morning. Any news anyone please contact the mobile listed ASAP. There are many people in the area who could get to a sighting pretty quick.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The small posters for Katy are on the info centre left hand side above Dollys Directive logo. Please download and print. Use these for handouts and for posting through doors. Katy is so pretty ! Hopefully more sightings tomorrow. Try really early in the morning - break of day when she is waking up. I'm sure she will make her way back to where she ran off from. Put her bedding down with food. Good luck. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you everyone for your support so far, we all appreciated. Yvonne has just called again. No further sightings. She is heading home for the evening as she has been out searching since 4am and is dead on her feet. Come on Katie - show yourself, or make your way home. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Still no more potential sightings. This is the time that Yvonne and Katie would normal go for their walk, so she is waiting in the usual place with some smelly food to see if Katie is hiding away waiting for the visitors to disperse and then show herself. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Her lead could be tangled up in the bushes so please have a good look around. If she is nervous she may not cry out.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Saw this morning just before we set off for our morning walk. Unfortunately my printer isn't working else I would have taken posters with me. Have any been put up as we didn't see any at Wolferton, which is just across the main road from Sandringham. You have to drive past the logs mentioned so it is very close to where she was sighted, poor baby girl. The postcode should be PE31 I would have thought (I live in Dersingham and I'm pretty sure Sandringham will be PE31 too). We were at Wolferton for about an hour and half, we went off track to see if we could see any sign of Katy and kept looking and even whistling just in case it attracted her attention enough for us to see her in the distance. There were plenty of puddles about at Wolferton so I imagine if she is loose she will at least find some water to drink. Have rung a few dog walking friends to alert them. I will try to do some handwritten posters tonight and take them with me in case none have been put up by tomorrow. Posters are the best way to get a dog back. Hoping upon hope this girl can be found. Reported sighting of a Collie at the Dersingham roundabout on the A149 towards Hunstanton, about 1.5 miles from where she was lost. Just after roundabout there are stacked up felled trees. Sighting there. Yvonne has been and checked it out and laid scent. This is on the way home, so scent and food also laid at home and the gate is open. No other sightings yet. Some of the search party has had to leave, so any help gratefully received. Sarah Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Katie went missing last night at 8pm from the Sandringham Visitors Centre Car Park. We have only just been notified. Yvonne was using one of those stupid retractable leads for the first time - Katie pulled and it came straight of Yvonne's hand and she took off. Katie was adopted 6 weeks ago, so it's still early days. No sightings since last night. If anyone is in the area who can help with the search we would all be extremely grateful. Radio appeal gone out. Posters being given out. Local rescues notified. Yvonne thinks Katie has headed into the woods. I've sent her into the loos to pee for scent trails, which should be being laid as I type. Anyone in the area who can help, we would really appreciate it. Many thanks, Sarah. If it is where the visitor centre is there are pleny of workers that could keep an eye open. There must also be game keepers, groundsmen etc on the Estate. Obviously posters in the visitors centre would be helpful. I am not close enough to be much help 'on the ground' but please contact me if can be of help in any other way. The local houses should be made aware also. I should imagine the local people would be very helpfulLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
