Took posters to Hutchinsons pet shop and to Pets at Home, both of which are in industrial areas close to Tams Brig. Also took a drive around Whitletts Road and Heathfield Industrial Estate which both have food outlets. No sighting of Rocco. Will be in these areas again today so will keep looking. Have left a message for owner to poster around the offices of the industrial area, because sometimes dogs go scrounging around there for the scraps of food around the burger vans. I am in regular contact with owner to advise and support. Thank you for all your help Weimlover. You are doing an excellent job. Maybe he is not too far away. Just need another sighting to give us some more clues.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just had a thought, i dont want to phone the owner at this time in the morning. How about contacting the local schools ? Would they be able to put a poster up in the common room or staff rooms ? My Son told me on the way home he saw a Jack Russell this afternoon in the belmont area on its own but he thought it had a docked tail. I will take a drive here tomorrow too and i will pop into the local shop in this area with a poster. Come Home Rocco, please xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Back in. No luck. I took a drive down past the back of the sandgate and around the harbour area then up into Tams Brig. I drove the streets around the Vesta Cafe near Newton Beach. Im sorry i didnt see him. There is a nightwatchmans hut here at the railway. I got out to ask him but he wasn't in his hut. Maybe it would be a good idea to go back there and speak with him ? I know the owners of the barbers shop next door to the Vesta, so im going to nip in there tomorrow with a poster and ask them to put it up. Theres loads of streets in that area as well as industrial ground, i will go back tomorrow again. Lets hope he is still in the area, lots of fast food outlets here so maybe he will be looking for food !Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi. Just emailed everyone i know within this area the poster. Did rocco go missing today or has he been missing for a couple of days now ? Just curious as to know how far he could have got. Posters printed off and will get them up in the local shops. To the owner... contact West FM and see if they could get it on tonights show with Colin, this is listened to by lots of younger people driving about in cars and i know with the lighter nights they head up the Carrick Hills. It may be worth it ! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Posters need to be put up in the area where Rocco went missing, on lamposts, entrances to parks and strategic places in parks, especially the caravan park area, like at the start and finish of tracks and paths in forestry areas, at vets, petshops, carry-out food shops, local shops who often allow postcards in the window, supermarkets who have a notice board, community centres, schools etc. You can ask the postman, milkman, binmen (even put poster on bins). You can ask school bus drivers and kids on the bus, or if you have kids on the bus, get them to hand out flyers at school. Deliver flyers to houses & pop through letterboxes . Hand out flyers to people in the street, especially dog walkers. Put posters or flyers in car windows. All rescue centres and kennels, also police offices need checking regularly and preferably visited in person, by owner or someone who knows Rocco and what he looks like, because your dog or it's breed may not be recognised by other people. Police are sometimes too busy with other things to do much about it and sometimes you have to go there, or phone them, over and over again to get help. Get some media coverage if you can, by asking the local radio station to broadcast Rocco as missing and put an ad in the local newspaper with a picture of him. In the case where he may have been stolen, make him too hot for thieves to handle, by getting his profile out there everywhere possible for everyone to see. Best wishes and good luck. x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
