- So lovely to see Brock reunited.
Xxlynne, I'd like to applaud the actions of the rescue, they went the extra mile by looking to see if they could locate the rightful owner. From reading the rescue's posts on Facebook, Brock would have been very easy to Rehome, but they didn't rush it. Hats off to the rescue.
It's a shame that police forces aren't getting in touch with the police coordinator at Doglost at the first opportunity....might be possible to reunite more quickly many more dogs that have been seized in raids. I've always thought that there's a strong possibility that many lost and stolen dogs have been found and rehomed through perfectly legal means while Sadly their rightful owner is still hoping for their safe return....often for many years. I wonder if there's more that we can do to match "found" dogs with "missing". For example, often the dog wardens don't post photos so it's difficult to investigate any match....Two van loads of dogs and pups seized by Cannock police earlier this month thought to be stolen, but no details or photos shared yet on their FB page so difficult to know which owners to alert....Joanx - 2020-12-23 16:45 slabcabbage

No chip was found... so vet inserted a chip when he was neutered, had a dental Last edited: 2020-12-23 22:23:54 by xxlynne - 2020-12-23 13:53 Jayne - Founder Doglost.

- Fantastic - is anybody getting charged - as it doesn’t seem to happen in these situations - and it needs to - how painful for him - they wouldn’t have done that properly with pain relief were there any other dogs on that site that were recovered - sites need to b checked - many end up there - be happy and safe now Brock

- CROSS POSTED from his fb group:
Brock has been reunited with Katie after he was stolen 2 years ago. He was recovered by police after a raid at a travellers site near Gatwick and then taken to a rescue. Brock had his original microchip removed and it was replaced with a new one. Thankfully after the rescue looked through the Doglost website for matching dogs, they saw Brock and realised it looked like him. Fortunately, there was a distinctive feature on him and it was confirmed it was Brock. They rang Katie and she went to collect him. After a vet visit, I can confirm that he is in good health and just as loving as he was before.... and now Katie and Brock are catching up on lots of cuddles at home.
You never expect anything like this to happen to you - but there are some very evil people out there that steal people’s family pets to make money. It has always happened but a lot more recently. Keep your beloved pets close to you at all times, as to be in this situation would be everyone’s worst nightmare. The heartbreak, upset, worry and distress is unimaginable.
But for Katie tonight, her nightmare has ended and she has her gorgeous boy back home safely in her arms πΆπ₯° - 2020-12-22 23:59 Debbie123
- When u say ‘site’ was that a travellers site - how did they retrieve him - were the police involved

- Fantastic news. Just seen his REUNITED details being shared on fb with a lovely REUNTIED photo which I have added to the Extra Image box.
This why so important to register on DogLost and have good photos which help greatly when cross checking. Thank you to everyone who has helped make his homecoming possible. Welcome home gorgeous Brock, wishing you and your family a Very Happy Christmas catching up on lost time. β€οΈ - 2020-12-22 21:55 Vizslamum
- Oh my goodness. Truly amazing news! What a lovely boy. Stay safe now Brock and enjoy a happy life with your family. Happy Christmas. xxx

- Best day ever..
Yes no chip found. So he was chipped, neutered dental etc and passed into our care. He came from a 'site' so suspicions were there of a pedigree Cocker Spaniel ?poss stolen. Havent studied for a scar ref chip site but ofcourse his fur would hide this. This issue nearly put me off as one thinks "no he didnt have a chip" when Katie's post references one. Remove a chip and you remove all evidence and ref back to past sadly. Pray more people think twice and where the chip is still there VETs do routine checks which are easier now the owners don't go into the vets with their dogs now due to Covid
Thanks goes to Doglost in truth a fantastic service and a life line to so manyLast edited: 2020-12-22 21:55:36 by xxlynne - 2020-12-22 21:33 sheltielover
