So sorry that Titch's owners did not find their girl. What a fantastic site dogs lost is ---that helpers will still remember the owners that need to be reunited with dogs-- and the dogs that are sold/passed on under suspicious circumstances should be checked out in order to try to reunite owner and dog

Benion123 thanks for posting an UPDATE. She is one lucky girl to have a home with you. Good luck at the vets and thanks for the messages and all you have done greatly appreciated. x

Tiffany (we have renamed her) is at home with us and our 3 rescue dogs. She seems very shaken up and nervous, but is doing better today. She is off to the vets tomorrow for a full check up and we are doing DNA to work out if she is a Lhasa Apso or Shih Tzu cross. Very sad for Titch's owners, but at least Tiffany is safe and curled up on her new bed.

Thanks for replying to the message Sue, don't know if you sent a text back but not received one, only just seen your reply on here. I have been tied up with other dogs and have had an update from helper.

They took the one they have to TITCH's owner to see but it is not her. They have managed to get her scanned and she is chipped to an address in Stockport but the contact number is unobtainable, details do possibly match who finder bought her from. The vet has said she is a Lhasa Apso.

Thank you Majorjet for the message and good luck today. It would be wonderful if it was little Titch.

I've had a phone call from a NW helper after they contacted HQ who passed on my number with the dog they have being in the NW.

They have rehomed a dog that was advertised for sale under suspicious circumstances. She was advertised on the net and they had to meet up with a friend of the seller. Helper has checked DL and it is very similar to TITCH. They have been in touch with TITCH's owner and are going to take the dog to them tomorrow all the way from BOLTON to where TITCH's family live.

TITCH's owner has sent more photo/s over to the helper which they will be forwarding to myself.

I will also alert Sue Central Co-ordinator,

WELL DONE to helper for what you have done to rehome this dog and checking to see if it is a missing dog.

Natalie, here is some information for you. I hope it's of some help with your search for Titch. Check rescues etc frequently, preferably in person by someone who knows Titch well. Keep in touch with dog wardens and vets so that they know she is still missing. The green tab Find Any Vet UK can be found on Dog Lost web site and locates vet surgeries in any area. Check lost and found web sites. Check any nearby rivers, streams and neighbours ponds or pools. If you think she might be with travellers approach sites with care. Contact your local council, speak to the Traveller Liaison Officer and give them a poster.
Check for rail accidents, Networkrail 08457 114141. Check for RTA?s, Highways for your local area and the Environmental department. Dogs often return to the same spot that they went missing so leave some clothing or dog bedding in the area. If she is staying/living feral in a particular area it may be possible to catch her by scenting. Should this happen get in touch with DL for full scenting details. If you have any sightings or get any media coverage please let Dog Lost know as soon as possible. Check Dog Lost regularly for messages on Titch?s thread and also the Found list in case she has been found and taken to a rescue or pound. Please poster responsibly and if Titch is found take down posters and notify everyone you have contacted. Give posters to and places to poster: Poster Lampposts, Entrances to parks/Dog bins, Car parks, Dog Wardens, Pounds, Rescue Centres, Vets, Postman/Sorting Offices, Milkman/Local milk distribution, Pet Shops, Boarding Kennels, Refuse collection, Schools, Taxi drivers, Pubs, Youth clubs, Newsagents, Takeaways, Dog training clubs, PDSA and Pet Ambulance Service, Riding Schools, Army and RAF bases, Farmers, Petrol Stations, Supermarkets, HGV truckstops, AA, RAC, Display in car windows, Local hunts, Farm Auctions, Dog/Horse shows, National Farmers offices. Try to get coverage in Local papers, Radio etc. Good luck. We?re all hoping you find Titch soon. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner, if your dog is still missing, we do need a picture, even a "library" picture is better than nothing. Then we can get posters printed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
