Great to see that Sedge has been reunited with her owner............ eventually! Ridiculous, isn't it?  I can understand that the chip company would not want to pass on the name and details of a lost animal's owner to anyone on the end of the phone but when someone is volunteering their number and they fail to pass it onto the owners, that is just absurd.  Unfortunately, one of the more ludicrous clauses of the Data Protection Act protects even voluntarily offered data.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Fantastic to see Sedge in the BLUE!!!   Welcome home, lovely girl, great that the gentleman who bought Sedge was honest enough to make sure she was returned to her rightful owner.   I must say I find it quite worrying that the chip company failed to come to Sedge’s aid here, I’m quite sure this is not the intended outcome of the data protection act!   And to compound it by failing to notify the owner themselves..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    Thank goodness that in spite of it all, Sedge is back where she belongs xx

Sedge is home!  A gentleman rang HQ last week after a friend of his commented on the dog he had bought from Nottingham saying there was a dog just like sedge in our countrymans weekly colomn for lost and stolen dogs. The gentleman rang us and we asked him to scan the dog-it was Sedge. However when he rang identi chip they confirmed the dog was stolen but said they could not give him the owners details because of the data protection act but they did not ring the owners to pass his number on to them!!!!!!! The gentleman persisted by taking the dogs to a vet who was able to get the contact details for one very happy owner.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hey Cobiere, looks like you name may still have the remnants of the infection - you should be able to correct it by going into My Details and putting your nickname in again and saving - hope you are feeling a little better now. Sandie xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
