So sad for owners missing their dogs. Heart breaking. - 2018-12-01 20:09 Sharon M
- Lets hope that the prison sentence given for stealing dogs and cruelty towards animals is increased even more than 5 years. Maybe then these evil individuals will then get their just desserts!!!!!!!!

- God I thought it was bad enough over 40 but now 102. Please let all those and many more be stolen dogs who can be reunited with the loving families who have been searching for them. Well done to the police and RSPCA. What a job they have on their hands xx

- Update from the Police....
Yesterday morning (29 November) officers from our Community Action Team (CAT) and Rural Crime Action Team (RCAT), along with the RSPCA, carried out a warrant at an unauthorised encampment in Willingham.
As part of this warrant 102 dogs were seized. All dogs found on the site were removed and are now in the care of the RSPCA.
A small number were microchipped and the RSPCA is now in the process of contacting the owners. There is no evidence to suggest chips have been removed from any of the animals. If the RSPCA are unable to trace owners then further information will be released at a later stage.
The vast majority of the dogs are puppies or young and it is believed they were bred on the site.
Thank you to everyone who has shared social media content expressing an interest in the dogs and their welfare. - 2018-11-30 10:54 #stoppettheft

- Well Said Karen,
all Owners of Stolen & Missing believed Stolen Dogs will be so very very appreciative of you posting these comments. ,
as are all of us who are regularly when we read weekly, if not daily, of yet more Dogs, pets, being Stolen, snatched from the supposed safety & security of their family home, garden, vehicle even . & regularly to read the Owners' accounts of how PetTheft has caused complete devastation in their lives, to their health & well-being, let alone the stress & trauma to the stolen pet.

- This is a comment I put on the new South CAmbs police post today.
Policing South Cambridgeshire can you please answer the question above please as this is very important ie. Of the dogs that were left on the site were these dogs scanned? I understand that you had a mammoth task on your hands. However if the dogs that were left on the site were not there could be many more possibly stolen pets left there. If not why not. Also please remember that if the dogs that were taken do not have chips or the details are not up to date the best thing to do is post the pictures of the dogs to Doglost UK. They have the U.K. largest database of missing/stolen dogs and if the dogs can’t be matched the photos can be circulated via Doglost to the immense support groups on Facebook and twitter. I help search for Kemo missing from Cotton End Bedford and the questions raised above are vitally important. Should you need any help with this ongoing investigation from the U.K. Facebook twitter groups I and I am sure many others will offer you that help. Thank you for what you did. I hope that the Police in other Counties will follow suit. There are bad humans of all races religions etc and the good humans should not be suffering this Pet Theft epidemic in the U.K. and you as a Police force are the only authority that can help end this misery for hundreds of families. The matter of the stolen things like van quad bikes etc whilst important to the people who they belong to are replaceable. The dogs are not. They have a beating heart they breathe oxygen the same as humans and they should have the same protection.

- We all really appreciate the lengths to which the police, RSPCA and doglost go to over events like this. I understand that the dogs are likely to go onto Pets Located, because that is the site the RS use. Please would you be able to say if you will get a list, because Pets Located only use computerised matching, which is useless, and you folk use humans, who are fantastic

- Update from Cambridge Police....
A Section 8 PACE warrant was carried out today by police officers from across the force at Black Pit Drove, Willingham resulting in a number of stolen items being recovered by police. As always, we will be seeking to return any stolen property to the rightful owner. The RSPCA and veterinary services were invited on site to work alongside officers to check on the welfare of a number of animals at the location. This has resulted in a large number of dogs being taken into the care of the RSPCA. The majority of these dogs were small young dogs and puppies. We fully acknowledge that for anybody that is currently missing a pet this may be upsetting or concerning news.
Please find below some advice from the RSPCA to assist with locating a dog:-
1. Your dog's microchip - phone the database they're registered with and report them missing
2. Contact your local dog warden
3. Notify your local vets, animal hospital and rehoming centres
4. Register your dog on missing pet websites. We refer the public to Pets Located, exclusivley used by RSCPA Inspectors, but you can find other similar websites through search engines
At present, our investigation is less than 24 hours old and with such a large number of animals seized and also a large amount of property seized we cannot reply directly to independent requests for information on specific dogs.
If you have followed the information above then this will assist us and the RSPCA to manage the information in such a way that we can ensure were are able to process it promptly and where possible return dogs to their rightful owners.
Whilst we accept that you will want to locate your pet at the earliest opportunity we politely request that dog owners do not use our emergency or non-emergency numbers to enquire as to whether their dog has been located. Please be reassured that the police and RSPCA have the animal's best interests at heart and will be working closely with the RSPCA on this matter.
An earlier message relating to this matter has been removed due to a number of potentially offensive comments being made. We ask that posters adhere to our page rules before commenting. - 2018-11-29 22:21 #stoppettheft
- huge thankyou to Cambs Police unit & RSPCA & all concerned in executing this warrant.
Let's hope that the whole country's Forces now follow their example & raids each & every similar 'encampments' to scan, seize, Dogs & any other animals believed to have been Stolen.
Yes, many genuinely decent & honest dwellers,
but more increasingly we are now seeing Posts on social media of Bereft, Heartbroken Owners who have been subjected to the despicable crime of PetTheft,
& most worryingly, always involving the 'White Van' usually False Plates , thieves of certain accents or appearance .
This just had to be stopped, prevented, deterred with the threat that Spot Checks can & Will be made by each & every Police Force & other Authority .
