  • Other Info She is old but flits between a dotty hobbling thing and insanely bouncy and energetic. She is obsessed with food. Obsessed. Probably because she is losing her mind and going back to very basic instincts. She is quite deaf and a little blind. She responds very well to a high pitched whistle.

Update from Twiglet’s owner....
OMG! WE FOUND TWIGLET! We were out searching normal area and a farmer from Brantham called out the blue and said he'd seen a 'piglet' wandering in circles round a field. But it was a Twiglet! We raced over in the car and had an amazing view for miles and down below far away in a field could see her! Thank you to everyone for helping and for Ed Keeble for spotting!

From Twiglet’s owner (copied from her Facebook group)

Good Morning everyone! #FindTwiglet urgent update please read as today is action day and we need your help as elements are turning against us and Twiglet is 60 hours missing.

Today (Friday) the temperature is due to plummet and the winds are due to pick up. We've been advised by experienced dog rescuers to make haste to find her. So today is T-Day - Twiglet Day! We think she could be hiding and frightened in someone's garden around the area, or in the area where she was last seen down past Crepping Hall.

Here are some very practical things you can do to help TODAY! It would mean so much to us to get little Twiggy back.

🐶Quick progress update for those out the loop first: Jack Russell last seen 4th Dec 4pm on a lesser-known walk right down Crepping Hall Lane in Stutton near large dead oak tree after driving to area from home in Holbrook. We've contacted EVERYONE. No sightings. No hand-ins. No body. Given her old age, we think she's got lost along the way and is now hiding. White. Brown ears. Red collar. No tag. Yappy to other dogs. Ladylike around humans. Doddery or bouncy depending on mood. Always hungry.

Can you help with any of the following:

***

🔎HELP LEAFLETTING: If you are free this morning please meet my mother Cary in the Stutton Community Shop car park tomorrow morning 9 a.m. to help put flyers through people's letter boxes asking them to check gardens thoroughly for Twiglet hiding places: thick bushes, around sheds, under cars, flower beds, outside of hedges if bordering fields, near fresh water. If you're not available that time one of us will be in area should you be able to help later.

🌳CHECK OWN GARDEN: Anyone reading this who lives in Stutton or Lower Holbrook please check your own garden and outside, and message anyone you know in Stutton asking them to do the same. A thoroughly as possible will increase our chance of finding her.

🕺JOIN WALK: Around 10 a.m. there will be a walk along the whole route from Crepping Hall to home: Crepping Hall > Stutton Church > Sea Wall > Holbrook Creek. If you can join to help search that would be great. We’ll be going slower than normal so we can try and spy a little terrier in bushes. This time may change.

🧙SEARCH PRIORITY AREA (see map): I’d love help to search the woods (which have rabbit holes), the corn crop, a small pond, water ways, and long grass and hedgerows around near where Twiglet went missing. If anyone knows any wizard-gamekeepers, shooting folk, rural magicians, farmers, young bucks, or anyone who has a knack for sniffing out a downed bird we need them poking sticks, getting on knees, getting dirty looking down rabbit holes, in bushes, under shelter, in waterways. We can only search this specific area tomorrow because Saturday there is a shoot (and have permission from landowner). See below image for specific area. We have whole day to search this, but the earlier the better. Who can help do this from 10-11 a.m. (or later if it suits you) please?

🕰OTHER AREAS: I’m in process of contacting landowners around Crepping Hall and the walking route to get permission to search gardens and hot spots.

Thermal imaging kit available from http://www.animalcapture.co.uk/canine-capture-uk/4594288795 - also some of the firms that sell thermal cameras also hire them out. And, yes, Drone SAR - here is a link to their page, which you should be able to get I think even if you are not on fb https://www.facebook.com/groups/DroneSARForLostDogsUK/

A heart attack??? That’s a strange thing to say. Stay positive. A little dog locally was found almost 2 weeks later a few weeks ago. In a neighbouring village to Stutton. Could we not arrange a search for twiglet?

Hi all. A drone or thermal camera would be a huge help. Can anyone suggest? I have contacted the gamekeeper. His prognosis is bleak, saying Twiglet probably had a heart attack. However, we have friends who've had dogs who go missing for 3-10 days. One of the dogs was found lying in grass near the spot she was last seen 10 days before 'waiting to die' - so I'm going to keep looking because Twiglet may be doing this.

A helper has contacted me as she is having problems logging in and has asked me to post this

If Twiglet is still missing you need to contact the Gamekeeper for the estate. He lives at the top of the long road down to Stutton Hall. He will be able to let you know if he has seen her.

Any news on this little one yet?

Twiglet' s owner has posted on Twitter, SO pleased that Twiglet is now registered here & owner receiving help.
I suggested that a Thermal Imaging Camera might be useful but I do not know anyone in this area to ask if they have the use of one ?
I have given owner the Twitter profile for SARDrone.
Am wondering if She will be Scenting back to the start of the walk, if travelled there by car ? Would she recognise the scent of the car if It was parked up & left with engine running.
i will suggest a BBQ too, as She is obsessed with food x
