From Tibber's facebook page: We have some very sad news to announce.

Tibber has been found.
But unfortunately he is no longer with us.
He had obviously been with someone, he was clean and well fed. But whoever had him had dumped him and he tried to make his own way home.

He was found on a the railway. The vet suggested that he had been hit by a train and died instantly.

Although he has been missing for 3 weeks, he only died in the last couple of days. Which is very confusing and distressing for us his family.

Please respect our privacy at this time.

We can only hope for other sightings. If it is him, he's either travelled or been transported 100+ miles in just 3 days. We will check the Beaufort Hunt to see if they had any stray dogs and the Rescue Centres around there. Once again thanks very much for letting us know.

We have been sent this message:-
Hi! I’m not sure if this is the same dog but on Friday 28th December we were travelling to a wedding in Westonbirt near Tetbury. It was about 5pm and dark when a young beagle came running down the middle of the road! We pulled over, stopped the traffic and tried to catch him but he kept running off. Other cars pulled over but we couldn’t get close to him and he ran through the trees into fields. It’s a very rural area. There was nothing that we could do at that point so we left others trying to locate him. I think it’s ‘hunt’ territory so the beagle might have escaped from somewhere local but i thought it was worth mentioning x

TIBBER IN THE LOCAL PAPER:
A family have launched an appeal for help from the dog-lovers of North Staffordshire - after their beagle went missing on Christmas Eve.

Tibber, who is 19 months old, was last seen in the garden of his home near Lichfield Road in Stone at around 7pm on December 24,

Owner Imogen Hearn said they believed the dog, who is not wearing his collar, has been stolen - and Staffordshire Police have been informed.

She told StokeonTrentLive: "We searched for 5 hours in our local area and no sign of him at all.

"Our neighbour also has CCTV of an unknown car, we live on a cul-de-sac, driving down the road at around the time he went missing."

She added there had been a number of sightings of a similar-looking beagle in Newcastle town centre in the past couple of days.

In an online appeal, the family added: "Please can everyone look out for him. He is a very precious family dog."
