Oh No! How tragic. I like his family, was so hoping for a happier outcome. I am so very, very sorry to hear about Merlin`s passing. He was so cute). I feel you pain. Nightie, night, cute Merlin, sleep tight, and have fun at the bridge with the other "Rainbow felines" who are waiting to play. RIP+ God Bless x A|||Candle|||burns for you Merlin. Please take comfort that one day when the time is right, you will meet Merlin at the bridge, and he will show you the way. Forever together. Now with the Angels, surrounded by love. I hope you get a sign that Merlin is still around. I lost one of my cats in 2017 (aged 19) and had signs that she is still around. And not even the most sceptical person can explain it. A friend has also had experiences when her elderly cat died.. At least you have closure, and can lay Merlin to rest, knowing you will see him again. He leaves happy memories with you, and his paw prints etched in your hearts. God Bless Merlin`s family. And I hope that 2019 will be a happier year for them. (HUG) X

Thanks Upstart Wren, I would now try a CAT TRAP. As Merlin is a housecat, my guess would be that someone is feeding him. Paws xd.

Thank you everyone for all your help. Sadly, so far there has been so sign of Merlin. His owner is keeping me updated so I will pass on any further information which might help find him. Thanks again.

Indoor cats that go missing, will usually feel very anxious being out of their comfort zone,. which is in their own homes with people they trust; their owners. They tend to hide close by too. A door Merlin has access to, open wide, and stand aside, Don`t block his entrance or he may see it as "Threat" and run off. Put some tuna or chicken in his dish, and place it about twice the width of the open door. Place his UNWASHED blanket into a clean container, along with your scent too, because your the one he trusts. Place it about 1, or 2 metres from the open door. It` best to do theses things when it`s dark if you can. And check ALL outbuildings too,. including neighbours too. If all else fails, you could borrow a trap from Cat Protection. And place inside an object with his scent on. I would refrain from putting treats in, because of other cats. Paws xd.
