Well done & Thank You to everyone concerned .πΎπ - 2019-01-28 13:03 Ravenette - Area Co-ordinator - West Sussex
- Trotsy is now back home with her very happy and relieved owner. She was found locally and had been very well cared for. I cannot thank enough the 2 ladies who phoned with information. I won't say anymore at the moment as the police are involved now.

- Please go on Facebook at look up SPA vets. There is a very similar dog. It could well be the same from images. But hard to tell when it isn’t your doggie. Best of luck

- Trotsy's owner has just contacted me to say that sadly the dog at SPA Vets is not her. He is still wrangling with Lidl and the police over the cctv.

- Thank you Magnscruff. Trotsy is a tiny Cairn cross. She is however, chipped and around 6yrs old. I'm still waiting to hear back from the owner and will update here when I do.

- UPDATE From SPA vets ""SPA Vets Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to share this post and inquire after her. We have been unable to reply to everyone individually but wanted everyone to know that she is still with us and we are still hoping her owners will come forward.
We have been inundated with offers of a home and we will be sure to let you all know should she require one.
As a side note, the photo doesn't accurately portray her size- she is tiny weighing in at only 3kg- far smaller than a cairn and therefore we suspect she is a terrier cross.
Thanks again for all your well wishes towards her- be sure our staff are passing on each hug as requested!"" - 2019-01-11 12:37 Ravenette - Area Co-ordinator - West Sussex
- Thanks. I have sent Trotsys owner a link to the pic so that he can check for himself.

- Ok, that's still a poor response from police. If that was s child, they'd take more action.
How do we know someone didn't slip her out of her collar purposely ? Unfair to make assumptions by the police - 2019-01-04 23:01 Ravenette - Area Co-ordinator - West Sussex
- I have suggested this to Trotsy's owner and he was going to pursue this today with the manager. Will update when I hear back.

- Why can't Lidl check the footage themselves,so that they can determine exactly what happened to Trotsy - whether she escaped or was stolen? It could be made clear that it would be in their best interests as I am sure that a lot of Lidl customers are also pet owners.
NEED TO ACT FAST as normal practice is to keep CCTV footage for only a limited time, usually 30 days, and that will be up soon.
- 2019-01-04 21:36 Lago
- Not sure I understand Lidl’s comment in the first instance. They themselves can review cctv and see if he was taken or wether escaped by himself. If taken police can get involved as know he had been stolen surely.
- 2019-01-04 20:49 Ravenette - Area Co-ordinator - West Sussex
- The police will not request it as they are convinced that Trotsy is a missing dog. This is because (as I only found out yesterday) Trotsy's collar and lead were still attached to the bar .... so that it appeared she wriggled out of her collar. Well, maybe she did but, that still means someone must have picked her up and kept her as there have been no sightings and she has not been handed in anywhere.

- Lidl have tweeted
"We're really sorry to hear this and hope Trotsy is found soon. Our Customer Service team have liaised with Trotsy's owner and advised that, in this instance, the police would need to submit a data request, in order to view any relevant CCTV footage. 1/2
Due to data protection regulations, we're not allowed to provide members of the public with footage showing other individuals without their consent. The police, however, are able to view everything. Please be assured that we will provide the police with any support we can. 2/2

- Sussex Police have tweeted reply to @SAMPAuk_
Sussex Police did take a report from Mr Hammond ref: 1208 13/12/18 - details were circulated around the department to consider the report if anyone called if the dog was sighted. Mr Hammond was advised to speak with Lidl to see if CCTV provided any evidence & to call back. - 2019-01-02 00:06 #stoppettheft
- wow. how terrible for the dog & owner - dog goes missing & Lidl do not allow cctv to be viewed !!!
Takes only minutes to study the footage at request of police !!!
I will find others tweets to Lidl & see what they are responding with . - 2019-01-01 18:47 mistynsashasmum

- The problem we have is that the police do not believe she's been stolen. Trotsy's owner is trying to get Lidl to check their cctv ... so far they have refused and been very unpleasant to him. Hopefully, there will be some posters put up soon and they might jog someone's memory.
