- Ahh, I can't believe it! Thank you everyone!
We found him about an hour ago, he wasn't too far from where he had first disappeared. Two fields over, past a field of sheep, off the normal public footpath. He was nestled under some trees by a small river. He was healthy and happy when he was found, clean and dry, wagging his tail and excited to see us! We think he may have found that spot and stayed put for the last few days, to keep dry and warm.
He's been to the vets and other than losing some weight, he's back to himself and is acting as if nothing has happened. We've just returned home and couldn't be happier! xx - 2019-02-02 13:52 Becky Ross

Update from Dominique: UPDATE: THERE IS A GOD, LOUIE
FOUND THIS MORNING IN GREAT TEW PARK ...A LITTLE BIT SKINNY, BUT OTHERWISE WELL π THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS HELPED WITH THE SEARCH. FOR ALL THE OTHER GROUPS WHO HAVE SHARED THIS, PLEASE SPREAD THE NEWS π
Found by a large group search - he was found in Tew park, in one of the horse jumps, his coat was dry. He was happy although a little skinny βΊοΈ - 2019-02-02 12:55 ClaireC
- Changing to reunited to stop people going out searching onto some icy stretches of roads.
What a little toughie! Wow. Little Louie has been found in Great Tew Park this morning. A little skinny but otherwise OK. Welcome back to the warm. - 2019-02-02 09:23 Louie
- Will try to make the most of the sunny day today (Sat 2 Feb) and would be so grateful for any volunteers based in these neighbouring villages and towns to help us search: Little Tew, Ledwell, Sandford St Martin, Gagingwell, Duns Tew, Over Worton, Nether Worton, Wiggington, Swerford, Chipping Norton, possibly Banbury, Barford St Michael, Hempton
Even 4-5 mins while out on a walk or running errands would be wonderful. Thank you!
We're thinking he may likely be hiding under hedges, bushes, back gardens, sheds, or in a burrow at this point, if he hasn't yet been found, and may fearful and not respond to his name. We will be checking under and around these small areas where he may have tucked away for safety and warmth from the snow, and will try coaxing him out calmly with food or a treat.
We'll continue the search within the area where we last saw him in case he catches our scent, and will be based between Great Tew and Nether Worton on the public footpaths and bridleways. If you have time to join us there to search as well, please come along.
Again, thank you all! - 2019-02-01 23:32 Lin Iddon
- BATCH let’s hope he hasn’t gone down a Badger sett or Fox den
- 2019-02-01 21:25 Owl
- Louie, have you left an item of unwashed clothing in the area where he lost you? You are quite right in thinking he may pick up your scent and track back. Dachshunds are good at this. If he finds something of yours around there he is more likely to stay nearby.

- Hi Batch, we have yet to try further afield, areas like Wiggington, Nether Worton, Over Worton, Barford St Michael, Sanford St Martin. We've been sticking to the area we last saw him as we think he might not have gone too far, or in case he circles back and catches our scent. No sightings at all so far.
- 2019-02-01 13:50 BATCH
