- Sorry to see Sushi is missing Richard. It may help you to know that most dogs do actually back track and return to the area they last saw their owner. She has probably found a safe place to hole up, and will be out at break of day as its getting light looking for food. Try to be about then if possible. Perhaps take some of her bedding or your clothing that has familiar scent on it, and find a safe place to leave it with food.
