Would advise the owners or warden to have a look on the found section 39085 looks very similar to the dog lost in 2008. Hope its theirs but worth a look as it says dog found is now elderly but looks very near the phjoto added by owner. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the update Christine but sorry Toby is still missing. I'll get him an advert in The Countryman's Weekly magazine as soon as possible. Perhaps another poster campaign would be a good idea.

Hi, just an update to say that we have had no luck in finding Toby and it has been 2 years now since he went so we don't expect to get him back. Have tried all possible avenues but sadly nothing to give us a clue to his whereabouts. Nan is 96 and still talks about him. Express and Star didn't help us at all.

Hi Sue, I'm not very happy with the Express and Star as I have sent emails stating that my Nan will have her picture taken with a photo of Toby but they don't reply back. I have left my contact number but have heard nothing so it looks like they don't want to know.  My Nan has had her hopes raised by them and she has been left in the lurch I'm sad to say. She talks about Toby all the time, I wish there was something I could do to get him back.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

How did the E&S go Christine? Did they do an article? Any news at all?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Express and star have said that they will only think about doing an article if my Nan was willing to have her picture taken holding a photo of Toby. I didn't like the idea of her doing that as the local yobs in the area who might recognise her could hold her to ransom for more reward money and she could be very vulnerable. It looks like we will have to go down this route though as it's our last chance to get Toby back. Will keep you posted.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just to keep you updated, there have been two possible sightings in the Mossley area of a dog fitting Tobys description, running free. I have been there today and one shop let me put a poster by the counter, another needed to ask the manager first so don't know if that one will go up. I was told of a lady there who people take stray dogs to named Chris. No one was in her house so pushed a poster through.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

christine, if you havn't heard anything from the papers, do keep chasing them up to print your story. I hope Nan is ok, and you get some news soon. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Jazzi for sorting out express and star. Haven't been in touch with me yet though and it's 4.40pm so it doesn't look like it will be today. Have put up some more posters today so fingers crossed. Can't stand to see Nan so unhappy. She comes out of respite on Wednesday and will be lost without him.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Has there been no sightings of this little lad. Owners poster everywhere. Pubs, Shops, Parks.. Print smaller posters to put through letter boxes in surrounding houses. Ring local dog warden, police, make sure you get a crime number, and go visit local  rescue kennels, don't just ring as they have been known to make mistakes on breeds. Take posters along with you and ask them to put them on their notice boards. I hope Toby is found safe and sound soon. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
