Romany is still missing, the owner is not hopeful due to his age when he went missing but says it's always worth looking.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Melanie-so nice to know you have not deserted us now your dog Angel is back- so many just think my dog is back-lets just get on with life-forgetting everyone who has helped and more importantly the other owners who are months later still suffering with the "not knowing" factor.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've fowarded Romany's information to Greyhounds In Need and they will foward it to their people. If it was possible for 2 of them to be mistaken for lurchers, then it's worth a long shot. Gin also have a lot of contacts in the sighthound world. http://greyhoundrescue.co.uk has a lot of links. Hope that helps- us here in PR8 are still keeping an eye out just in case.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hubby thought he'd seen Romany (12 year old) today at Freshfield Open Day, but it wasn't. So sorry. Having now met the 2 returnees Henry and Hero in the flesh I thought I ought to write a bit about the breed. Both of them had amber ish coloured eyes with pink/ very pale brown noses. The nose is a giveaway when trying to spot Romany. The dog we saw had more white on his legs and a dark nose (should've taken the photo but were in such a rush to get there after dinner), - generally the face shape is similar to a Podenco. Has Romany been seen being walked anywhere?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Eris - I checked Foxy but he's not one of mine. Very similar though. Thanks for the lead NigeLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've changed my phone and everything works again. What a time to go off line! The initial problem was caused by Hero before he went on his little adventure. Yes Hero and Henry are home and settling well. Unfortunately there is still no word on Romany. I have an interview booked with the police re: my complaint to my MP about their inaction. It should be interesting. Many thanks to Jayne, Angie, Shiela and Nigel to name but a few for all their help and encouragement. Nige, Henry and Hero ps the boys are fast asleep on the sofa. Isn't it great. I haven't told Henry that I need to do his nails. It can wait a couple more days.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi eris-No news yet-sorry to take so long in replying but to fund the website and pay my phonebills-which are huge! We hire out the Hall occasionally and I become cook and waitress for the day! Today we had Sheffield University annual meeting of professors-who on arriving and met with brilliant sunshine retired to the croquet lawn and battled it out there! I am absolutely exhausted as lunch ,coffees and drinks had to be ferried 200 yards away from the kitchen rather than to the dining room-a mere 20 yards away! Still have the prospect of the washing up!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

How very odd, as if they were given posters or contacted in any way the people would have been using the correct description. Maybe owner should search any other homes offering brown lurcher crosses for rehoming.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Having spoken to owner - he went to the rescue in Liverpool and they were logged in as being 2 brown lurcher cross's!!!!!! Arrived at rescue on the 17th May by a person of no fixed abode.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

They came from a rescue in Liverpool 2 weeks ago.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Were they sent to Wales from a rescue in Liverpool? or did they arrive in Wales by means unknown? Dogs get sent to our local RSPCA in Chichester from up north, I've seen them there, and often the notes say things on the pens like "can't be rehomed in the ***** area. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Great news-but what on earth were they doing at a rescue in West Wales?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

A few questions are being raised here-Why were the Hounds moved from Liverpool to West Wales? How come the Rescue in Liverpool did not know about the theft? Owner had called all rescues-did they not think it odd to get 2 such rare dogs in together? Could they not have alerted Pharaoh Hound rescue? Could they not have done a search on the internet? All very strange.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I think we are going to hear good news on Hero and Henry shortly! " Pharaoh hounds matching their descriptions have been located in a rescue in Wales-They came from Liverpool! We did a mailing a few weeks ago covering the whole of Liverpool saying the dogs were going to be featured on BBC shortly and appealling for who ever had stolen them to hand them in(see poster above) This may have frightened those who had them-the good news is that they are responding to the names Hero and Henry-wagging their tails! Fingers crossed! Owner is on his way down now-so we will not hear for a while!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have just been informed that the Police have said they are not going to treat this as a crime!! How much more evidence that the dogs were stolen do they need? A break in is pretty obvious to me.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
