- Sharing again for Sophie. Someone, somewhere must know something or have seen this beautiful girl with her distinctive dark fur on her back, so unusual. She will now be around 10 months old. Please can anyone who has social media share Sophie’s poster again today - far and wide - it was originally thought she had been taken by boat, a similar dog was seen in the days after she went missing asleep on a boat moored by the GSK building. It’s not known which way this boat went. If anyone knows anything, perhaps she was picked up innocently by someone who mistakenly thought she was a stray - please, if you know anything or have Sophie, take her to the nearest vet and hand her in. She’s microchipped and needs to be reunited with her devastated owners. Please help. πΎ

- There’s some reports circulating of a loose puppy / spaniel in Lower Cippenham Lane, Cippenham near Slough SL1 - a pink collar was mentioned - Sophie had a pink collar on. If you look at the map, the M4 leads roughly there and there is a network of waterways too - if Sophie was taken by boat , as suspected, the person may now have set her free, realising the publicity. Is it possible for admin to alert SL1 volunteers to be on the lookout for this loose dog? At least it could then be eliminated if it’s not her, I’ll try and find local dog walkers who might watch out for her too - thank you πΎ

- Worth posting but Sophie has a black back. Did the person who thought they had seen her on a narrow boat come back with any more info? Am still tweeting for her x

- I've been sent the following comments / suggestions on Twitter
maybe local radio could put out an appeal for her
In regards to Sophie being seen on a boat ~ Boats have names, often distinctive colours, windows, canopies etc. did they describe it ? The Boat can only have travelled 2 ways at max 4 mph. has anyone walked the canal & asked Boaters?
- 2019-02-16 16:27 .
- Hi @julie I know from the local dog lost co-ordinator that the CRT are on board together with the local dog warden who checks the canal daily. I did touch base with CRT today to send the poster and t ask them to share it with all staff as if she is on the move she could be anywhere now. I’m not local but I could see from the map that the River Brent leads off one way, Grand Union Canal in another and The Thames the other way. It would be very handy to know which way the boat headed as you say. I think some help with the network would be very handy - I checked her in at The Fox pub but didn’t have any other pub names locally. Would be great if we could send all the local pubs a poster, do you know how to get details of the lock keepers? That’s a great shout πΎLast edited: 2019-02-16 16:28:40 by .

- Did the GSK person who may have seen Sophie on the boat note the boat name? Was it a narrow boat or cruiser and which direction did it head off in? Worth alerting https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/contact-us with Sophie's Dog Lost photo and asking lock keepers / pubs etc to keep an eye out. I know the canal network well so let me know if you want any help plotting likely routes etc.

- I’m still sharing Sophie daily on twitter and instagram too. Today I emailed vets and dog walkers I could find locally. I sent poster - asked vets to display for their clients and if poss share on social media. Dog walkers i asked to keep eyes peeled and to share if poss. Sorry if I’ve duplicated anything people have already done. For info the ones I have contacted are: Vets: Goddards, Companion Care, Village Vet Richmond, Young Vets Ealing and also Brentford, Roehampton Vets, Medivet Wimbledon, Wimbledon Vets, Alcombe, The Vet in Old Isleworth, Blue Cross Animal Hospital, Chessington Vets, Barons Court Vet, Brook Green Vets, Brackenbury Vets, and Dog walkers : Helens Pet Care, Nanny McWalkies, James the dog man, Alice to the rescue, DogKnows, The K9Carers, Zia, Sharons Pet Services, Santa’s Little Helper, Poppy n Pals, Sit Dog Training & Walkies. As I’m not on hand to foot search I’m just trying to lend support in any way I can. Although having said that I’m in Kew today and will certainly keep an eye out for Sophie. Thinking of her owners every day and praying she’ll be found soon πΎLast edited: 2019-02-16 18:01:26 by .
