- Hi Cathy
I am so sad to hear your desperately sad update, but echo everything you have so eloquently put, as i couldn't imagine the torture you were all going through not knowing where he was and what may have happened day after day.
i will take down all the posters starting tonight around Bookham Commons, and around Downside generally.
R.I.P beautiful Kelso, and hope Poppy in time can have a canine sister or brother to play with once again xxxxx - 2019-03-04 08:56 csquaredb
- Very sad update posted by Cathy to Doglost Surrey. So very sorry for your loss, run free sweet Kelso.
It is with huge sorrow that this morning we found Kelso in the small river in our garden. The river is higher due to the rain and he must have come back home from the woods behind us. Clearly something catastrophic happened to him whilst he was doing what he enjoyed best - chasing deer. He never once harmed them, it was always the chase that he loved most! We searched the area extensively at the time and, had he been hurt, he was a very vocal dog and someone would have heard him.
As a family we are totally devastated but we are relieved that now at least we have some closure and, more importantly, we can put the nightmare possibly of him being stolen and suffering at the hands of someone else, to rest.
We would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the amazing support we have been given during the past 3 weeks. It has helped us enormously in the knowledge that you were all out there looking, sharing and talking about him to keep the word out. Not to mention the lovely messages of support! Thank you!
Might I ask one last favour from those of you who live in the vast area we have put up posters - please help me by removing those you come across and dispose of the plastic appropriately for me - this would be a huge help! It will be difficult time taking them all down but it’s important to us that this is done.
Thank you again xxxxxx Cathy, Richard, Alexander, Sophie, George and, of course his big sister Poppy. - 2019-03-04 08:55 Julie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London

- Hi Cathy
i am desperately sad not to see any updates on your lovely boy, so many people are looking for him for you. A black lab that went missing on the 10th Feb has just been found today, hiding away in a barn after been clipped by a car, so i hope this is a good omen for dear Kelso, we are all rooting with you for a lovely outcome. Please let us know how we can help you as we are all supporting you but at a loss as to how to help Alison xx - 2019-02-23 12:18 nalamissing
- Have you let the cattery on Ockham lane know he's missing? (Www.sumafarmcathotel.co.uk), and the riding stables? I saw all your posters when I dropped my cats at prison this morning. Hope you get a sighting soon, but such a vast area without a lot of footfall.

- Kelso's owner is kindly helping with the search for Dickie - from owner on DL Surrey page " No sighting or news of Kelso yesterday. I feel so terribly lonely without him following me around and lying by my feet! 😢😢
Perhaps today I will get the call I so need to hear!! 🤞🤞
Today I’m going to help search for a little Jack Russel cross near Martyrs Lane in Woking who has been missing after being hit by a car a few days after Kelso vanished. I can’t sit around at home ... fingers crossed we find this other pooch and another family will be happy." - 2019-02-19 09:03 cathy-Area volunteer Surrey
- He’s still missing with no sightings at all at this stage - So devastating

- Hi Cathy I live locally so have sent the poster to all my contacts. Will keep looking out for him and really hope you find him soon! If you need a hand with anything let me know. I can’t imagine what you are all going through.

- Hi Cathy, I was looking all weekend, and saw the increased posters so everyone is aware of Kelso. Did you have any luck with the tracker dog lady, and does someone have a drone to help you look ? - there is a company that specialises in finding lost dogs i believe - Drone_SAR_For_Lost_Dogs_UK . I see time and again on here, if a dog is clipped by a car on a road, their natural instinct is to hide rather than try and get home, and i wonder if he is hiding somewhere or disorientated. Please let me know how we can help you, and praying for a lovely outcome for you Alison

- Really sorry your dog's been lost, am local and will keep a look out. Have you posted to Cobham Mummies FB page, might be worth a try? I'll also inform our neighbourhood watch for you. All crossed you find him today.

- Hi Cathy, i have just texted my friend who works there and is there much longer than a days work as she keeps her horse there too, they are lovely and so dog friendly. Have you checked the wooded area around the railway line area in case he chased a deer and got stuck at all, as it is deep wooded area around there { my dog got stuck by his collar shortly after moving in there last summer}. Is there any CCTV that can help you at all? Thinking of you all as he looks the most lovely little chap

- Alison - please be a gem and ask Chasemore to check all their outbuildings. They know and have radioed out to all staff on the day he went missing, but worth a punt? Thanks. Cathy

- Hi Cathy - i am so sorry he is still missing, i walked the area extensively this morning and thought i heard a dog howling near the MOT garage but then as i got closer it was a cockerel i saw so many posters up, and could he have got trapped in anywhere ? as from what you have put sounds so out of character and if he had chased a deer, he would have returned by now. The girls who all work at Chasemore Stud { including my neighbour} all have dogs, and they will for sure be helpful if they hear anything. My dog has run off across the fields after a deer to the right of the church many a time, and across to the small equine yard - could he have done this at all? Fingers crossed you have some good news today Alison

- Kelso is still missing - we have covered the local area extensively and nothing. We are still hopeful that he will turn up. Thank you all for helping. Cathy

- Poster around the area, post flyers through doors too. Hand out as many posters as you can; where, and when you can. Post in shops, and post offices too. Post a LOST DOG ad in a National newspaper too. Ask friend, and neighbous to share as well as DL Paws x for his safe return.Last edited: 2019-02-13 20:38:35

- Hi Cathy, i live in the little cottages by the village club, and walked down the track with the church on my right this morning , and down to the tilt, and didn't see anything, but there are loads of deer there so i think it would be the former . Is there any CCTV nearby at all? i will continue to look out when i walk later and if you need any posters printed out, please let me know as i can do some from here today
Thanks Alison - 2019-02-13 08:03 cathy-Area volunteer Surrey
- Thank you - we live on Cobham estate near the Millyard and he disappeared out of our garden. Not sure if he jumped the fence chasing deer or was stolen as he’s never left before Last edited: 2019-02-13 08:08:16 by cathy-Area volunteer Surrey
